Good morning from Texas, USA First let me say I love your channel. After my husband past, I was in a rather fragile state emotionally. I had an experience where I believe I crossed over and visited with my husband, I was told it was a heart attack. My daughter knowing how much I love the beliefs of the Scandinavian people of old, gave me a Freya statue and Thor hammer necklace. Once I put that on things began to change dramatically for the better. My zest for life grew, boldness insued, I learned to ride a harley, met some great friends. Now I travel the states riding a motorcycle enjoying life and friends. Given my age some might call it crazy, I call it a second life. Thanks for sharing your story.

Thats great to hear. To me, whether the pendants are historically accurate representations is irrelevant to me, i think it is much more importent the Spirit and honesty out behind it. Good luck further in your healing.

When I Was a young Man in my 20s,the only place to get a Thor's Hammer pendant was at a local tobacco shop. Cast pewter. I wore it for over 14 years. Finally I got a more authentic silver one at a Ren Faire. Have had and lost many over the years. Gave my 2 nephews one each at coming of age. I make them know. All out of iron. My faith has taken me to my craft. Blessed by the Gods with a great life.

From personal experience, I feel as if I have more strength, stamina, and willpower when I'm wearing it. Placebo? Possibly, but wearing it makes me feel good, and honestly I think that’s all that matters.
@britvic43342 жыл бұрын
Placebo affect is exactly that. I wear my father's wedding ring and rub it when frightened, it calms me somehow makes me feel he's by my side saying everything is ok. If something brings you strength and/or peace then do what works for you
@odins.outlaw07112 жыл бұрын
@@britvic4334 I agree, somewhat. But to imply something is placebo is also to imply that the “boon” it gives us, so to speak, is only real in imagination. Which I like to think that certain spiritual jewelry, like Mjolnir, help us connect to the energies and spirits of the universe that’re all around us, and that wearing them is not purely some trick of the mind. I don’t what your thoughts about that are. Curious to know other people’s perspectives.
@britvic43342 жыл бұрын
@OdinsOutlaw for me placebo can mean it's all in your head, you're giving it the power to support you if that makes sense? Sorry it probably doesn't and I wasn't being belittling saying it's a placebo at all. I believe objects even scents can bring on so much strength and emotions it's actually fascinating what they can do for each individual. If someone is intent on it being BS then they will completely close off to it no matter what but when we're open minded and have an interest/passion for something like this it has deeper meaning. Like my father's ring, it's safety &love when I need it. I feel he's holding my hand through life, that's drives me on in a more positive way. Plus it makes me smile. ☺️

Lmaooo wassup outlaw Personally I’ve been wearing one for several years on the daily, but there’s times where I’m out the shower and in a rush and forget it at home, I always feel off when I forget it. I practically feel safer when wearing it.
@odins.outlaw07112 жыл бұрын
@@britvic4334 I don't feel belittled at all, don't worry, was just curious on your opinion, and felt the need to explain mine :p And yes that makes a lot of sense, though I do disagree and that is okay. I think the human mind certainly has amazing capabilities, and we can do things with our minds that most people probably wouldn't be able to believe. However at the same time, I do believe the human mind can't do everything and that some of these magical/spiritual jewelries, whether it be a Mjolnir, or a Crucifix, help us tap into forces and energies outside ourselves in order to invoke certain spiritual boons upon ourselves.

I notice that when I'm not wear my mjonir that my energy is low and things in my life begin to spiral out of control. I've had many low points where I thought of dying. I feel my spiritual belief is what keeps me going. I always find a way to overcome any obstacles that life has thrown at me. I bury emotion and push forward. My grandfather came from Norway to Australia as a young lad with his family and had been raised in the old Norse ways. I was fortunate to have his guidance as a child. My father gave me a Mjolner when I was married and I still wear it all the time. My Pop told me that thunder was Thor banging his hammer on a great rock up in the heavens. I totally believed it as a child, but was distracted away from my ancestor's beliefs during a Christian upbringing by my parents, who thought the old ways were 'evil' and 'ignorant'. When I do wear my Mjolner to gym, or into any of life's 'battles', I believe it makes me stronger, more focused and more likely to succeed. I had no idea about the connection between the Mjolner and the heart rhythms, but it certainly makes perfect sense. I am a naturally spiritual and magical person and I was drawn to these beliefs very early on in life. I always feel stronger and more authentic when I wear my Mjolner.

Liked it so much I had to watch it twice. I know what you mean about the effects of wearing it. My Thor's hammer is the first thing I ever got when I started learning/practicing Norse paganism. But I also stopped wearing for a while to, and that was a shitty time. What was affected the most was my mental health, in the year and a half that I had stopped wearing it, I had been admitted in the mental hospital, not once, but twice. When I got out the second time, I decided to pick up were I left off and start studying again, and also wearing mjolnir again. Ever since then, everything's changed, and gladly for the better. My mental and physical health are great now. Plus watching this video maded me love my pendant even more. Understanding the significance and meaning of it, I love that my mjolnir isn't a Chinese cringe one, or even a beautifully crafted silver or gold one. Mine was hand forged in iron from a blacksmith in Texas. And instead of getting a nice chain or a leather cord, I got a small piece of steel chain from home Depot. I figured the symbolism of an iron Thor's hammer on a steel chain would be... Empowering. I was right. I will never take this off again. Ever.

Glad you're feeling better. In Afghanistan, I carried gemstones (carnelian, tiger's eye, rose quartz) in the small pouch behind my kevlar body armour plate to help me be courageous, an effective leader and to carry the love and protection of my wife and family. I believe they helped me. Reality and activity follows thought and feelings, so I like to think I manifested courage, fortitude and good fortune. I believe the same principle applies to the wearing of Mjolnir pendants.

I absolutely LOATHE 99.999% of what passes for "Viking" jewelry online. They put " Ægishjálmur" and "Vegvisir" of everything. They put Odin's Ravens on Thor's hammer. They pick random Runes and just slap them on something and call it "Viking". I could go on, but you know what I am saying. A long time ago I started seeking out real craftsmen for my jewelry. For instance, my hammer is a reproduction of a find from Denmark by an amazing craftsman in England who does it with the Lost Wax method like in the old times. I also have other stuff from him. My "weapons" I got the same way. I have 2 amazing Axes from Ukraine, a Seax from the Czech Republic and my Sword is from Sweden. ALL hand made by people who are either Pagan themselves or are students of history. I am not laying this all out to say "hey, look at me. I got all this stuff". I am saying it because i feel we must start promoting honest craftsmen who's heart are in the work. Most of that stuff to be found online sends out the wrong message. It's pathetic and it waters down the seriousness of the public face of our belief structure. I really can't wait for the Viking craze to blow over and the rest of us can get back to being actual Pagans and living life as it makes sense to us under they eyes of the Gods and our ancestors, without all the woke crap and corporate exploitation.

I get a lot out of your channel I learn a lot about my own heritage from Norway. Since my grandfather came to United States as a child a lot of the back history of Norse history was not really discussed, except about the ship industry which is what my great grandfather did. He was involved in some of the exploration ships back in the 1800s including the Gjoa. Interesting stuff there. Eventually they got tired of Norway, they were living up Tromso, arctic circle. Very cold…then they came to the United States first to Alaska and then to California. I’m now in Wisconsin and there’s a lot of Scandinavian history especially in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota as you know.

In almost all (pre/proto-) historic cultures amulets were worn to protect throat and chest for the obvious reason: it's our most vulnerable and vital zone together with our head. That's why Roman coins were used as pendants in the late Germanic Iron Age: they had the face of a 'god' (Caesar) on it after all and were round like later early medieval roundshields. That's probably why early coins and coin pendants (bracteates) were known as 'skildlings' by the West Germanic tribes (literally 'little shields', hence the names 'Schilling' for pennies in Germany, shilling in Britain and schelling coins in the Netherlands). Amulets protect and increase your strength. I carved my Mjölnir pendant from a piece of (old) spermwhale tooth about ten years ago for those reasons. Like Þór, I am a Guardian, a father and a keeper of peace with responsibility for my family. I dedicated my pendant with the proper gáldrs to him and the lives I want to protect. The runes are cognate with the formula I used. My Mjölnir reminds me every day who I am, where I come from and what my duties are. I asked Þór's blessing and aid for this task. The pendant is also a witness to this bond. That's why it never comes off. It's part of me now and shows who I am. That said: glad you came out of Covid man, people still underestimate this disease.

She knew my family heritage from my grandfather and that most of his family was from Norway and Sweden. So she gave it to me and I can only think of one time I have taken it off. I even had it on my dog tags when I was in the service and none of my nco's or commanding officers had a problem with it. I still wear it to this day, it's a pewter one about 1/8"-1/4" thick and nearly the size of an amarican quarter with some Celtic knot work reverse casted into it. If it ever wears out or is lost then I would ask my beautiful wife to maybe get me a nice bronze one like yours. Thanks for the video brother!

This was my personal theory only, so far, about Mjolnir being a cognate of an old Croatian word for grinding. Northern Croatian dialect has it almost word for word, with identical meaning. Hence my idea of a possible explanation. Seeing you translate it in old norse having the same meaning is just amazing. Etymology in Croatian being Mljeti = To grind (Infinitive) Mlinar - The person/thing that grinds (masculine) Melnar - Same thing in Kajkavian dialect We have much more in common historically than modern history would let Us assume. ;)

I got rid of all of my old purchased Mjolnir necklaces, or broke them down to use their parts for other things. Instead, I have a hand-made wooden Mjolnir made from a gorgeous looking blend of mahogany and pine on a leather cord. The one I always wear, however, is my Odin pendant. I used a large chain necklace my wife gave to me when we first met, a metal loop from a Mjolnir necklace she got me for my birthday, a connector from a spearhead necklace she got me for our anniversary, and finally a pendant depicting Odin riding Sleipnir while Huggin and Muninn fly overhead, that I picked up at a local renaissance fair. That one came to me in quite an interesting moment of inspiration and creativity as I had them all laying out in front of me, wondering what the Hel I was going to do with them because I dont tend to change up my jewelry very often, and generally wear the same one or two pieces constantly.

I had medical bills that were sent to collections and eventually got them paid off a year later. I'm a military veteran in my fifties, but felt for a long time afterward like I'd aged 20 years. My family's background is protestant, but as a kid I read about paganism, and in those days felt a personal draw toward animism, though I didn't know the term then. This year (2023) I began to research paganism once again, buying some books and crystals and whatever else I could find. It did reawaken something positive in me and I feel it's put me on a healthier path. I will look for your shop online.

I see it as a symbol of progress as well, the hammer get things done, as symbol for human creation. I like your way of symbolic value as well. I will look into your shop 🙌

I have a tattoo of Mjölnir and a silver Mjölnir pendant from Grimfrost. Last year i was lucky to find a 22 karat gold earring outside a cemetery. I've also notice that when ever I wear my Mjölnir pendant when we have thunderstorms in the UK is that I never get struck by lightning even though I wear gold and silver jewellery.

I came to find this channel out of curiosity, just to gather knowledge, and i'm actually liking the 'General Spiritually' playlist. As an agnostic person who grew in a christian culture, it's so refreshing to be exposed to a different way of seeing things without it being shoved down my throat! You just show us your views, completely aware that it might sound like bullshit to some and it might make complete sense to others but in the end people are free to believe and experience whatever they want to, whatever way they want to. Like i said, very refreshing, and likely the biggest reason why i'm enjoying it so much. Keep up the awesome work man!

The Celtic torc has a similar effect. Good point about the materials - some stamped piece of stainless steel doesn't have the same power as something hand crafted from silver, gold, or bronze. Even better if you can learn to create these kinds of jewelry yourself.

The end around 9:20, it spoke to me. Last year (authmb) I lost a mjölnir necklace, and I never had money to replace it. Bought 2 weeks ago, fashioned after an archeoligcal found in Ödeshög, Sweden. It... just feels better, I kinda had an odd feeling throughout this year. Now it just feels better.

Oh wow. Love ur "testimonial" lol. Jokes aside, it's a beautiful thing to hear someone get back in touch with what they know is right and real. I'm honestly starting to believe that psychosomatic outcomes are or can be used by certain powers at certain times to initiate healing in those that believe,and psychosomatic is just a scientific term used to describe this phenomenon in a more secular way. All the best to u and urs, friend.

I'm glad to.hear your story. I myself had a real rough recovery - not meat as bad as yours from the sound of it - but I took up hiking. It's not the running that I loved to drive, but I've seen and connected more with nature on the trails. Some beautiful trails that I never knew about that were actually local.

My hammer is not fancy, but it was hand forged and it means a lot to me. It was made by a person who makes swords and armor, so it's as close to a village smith as I can get.

I have a chain necklace with 2 skeggox heads with a bear paw in the center. I took some cordage and wrapped around the axe heads, along the bottom and down through a Mjolnir pendant so it hangs below. I'm with you on the sympathetic magic thing. Whenever I make offerings I place my necklace over the stones, I definitely feel strength and vitality, also a sense of respect and gratitude to the gods and the forest where I make my offerings. Thank you for your videos on bluts, by the way. I appreciate the effort you put into giving us actual historical accounts. Itd be cool to see what you do for physical training. I'm into physical fitness, myself.

Yes I have a Mjolnir i have not worn it for a very long time can't say if it helped with my health as I was fine all the years that I worn it, but now I have health problems maybe its time I put it back on. I have been thinking so much over the last few months to make a wooden one I know it might sound strange but when I make things put time and energy into them I feel they have something special about them.

Considering most Pagans are very animistic. i believe it's very likely mjolnir and similar pendants may have begun as wood carved items and as time went and wealths, techniques and resources changed items were mostly golds, silvers, iron etc. We can't really find many of these things since how well wood breaks down over time. I believe when it comes to pendants based from animism, made by yourself or someone close is always best, next is the place he has linked us to where they are made from and by the people closer to our origins last option is always that cheap crazy ebay stuff he showed. Personally I'd never wear something for meaning if it's made in China. Wooden jewellery is stunning, I made homemade wood finger rings with a drill as a lathe and a dremel to shape them. Simple yet it works. I hope your health improves.

I didnt know about your struggles- I am so glad you rediscovered the strength and power of mjolnir- I lean on my ancestors all of the time and it is NOT crap- we ARE our ancestors and everything is absolutely connected. We see this with so called "new science " quantum physics/systems theory and with old and wise knowledge from our ancestors. Thank you for sharing this story- very personal and very true- for me and many- stay strong brother.

I mentioned this in a comment earlier, I guess I have a sort of “cringe” mjolnir that’s Celtic by design. I’m Scandinavian and can’t really afford an expensive one at the moment so it’s all I could do. It’s not the design or price, it’s how you wear it and whether it’s meaningful or not to pagan culture.

I have 2 Mjolnir pendants and chains that I bought from Grimfrost. They are only stainless steel because that's what I could afford, but I absolutely treasure them and they are so precious to me. I have one that has a longer chain that I like to wear outside for special events. Many people have made comments about it asking what it is. I get to tell them that it's a pendant that represents my spiritual beliefs. The other one I wear at home and i never take it off, even when I go to sleep. My Mjolnir pendants are quite decorative, but I don't mind. I feel that it's what they spiritually mean to me is what matters the most...and that's my connection to the Old Gods and my spiritual beliefs. I believe it make's a huge difference in my life. I just wish that our heathen spirituality survived and that christianity didn't take over. I would love to know so much more.

I've worn Mjolnir for decades, my first one I got from an artisan at a festival at the Viking ship museum in Roskilde, Denmark. Yes I immediately felt a sense of confidence & well-being wearing it & a more direct connection to Thor. I now have several, all made by artisans except one I picked up at a used book store- just for fin cuz sometimes you just need a big chonky Mjolnir. It's definitely a costume piece, it looks nice but lacks the spirit of craftsmanship. I have a related story regarding the heart. Long ago I got a rose quartz heart pendant to wear with the intention of healing my heart, as I was sad about feeling distant from my family. Some months down the road I had a physical exam for a new job. Checked out ok, and I asked the doctor about a heart murmer I'd known of since a young age (yes literally a hole in the heart). He ran an EKG and said it must have been a mistake as no trace is detectable- but it had been detected every year I played sports. Since then despite other health issues my heart remains strong, with no trace of any former anomaly. And I do wear a Mjolnir almost daily and yes still have a great love for rose quartz. Placebo effect? If so fine with me, it's the most powerful medicine we have, the intelligence of the body that can heal itself. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I'm glad your on the mend. Yes I do, I agree with you the amulet does help & heal. Cardiomyopathy is serious trust in what your body tells you; Hawthorn tea will help you.. I have several autoimmune disorders & I know it gives me added immunity to do what I need to do. I have heart issues too I'm pretty darn sure there is a hereditary factor. Physically I think we're built for power & strength not longevity lol unless we eat herring all day! For me too scribing the runes on self with scents builds a shield as well. Thank you for sharing !

I have a few, some I made. I cut one from amazonite and am working on one made of Baltic amber. I feel empowered, am never sick and always feel as I have direction and know the path I should take. Others I have are the real thing purchased along time ago, I keep one of them at my bedside for protection.

I’ve had my Mjolnir for around 2 years now I think. I got it a few months after I became Pagan as a gift from my parents during the holiday season. It’s made from Bronze in the Skåne style. It is still the Mjolnir I wear because it has been with me since the start, so it is of sentimental value. Ever since I started wearing it, along with practicing martial arts, I feel like I have become stronger and more energetic.

As a blacksmith, I made mine out of an old horseshoe. I then scribed it with a bind rune that was created for blacksmiths to Forge your own path. It's not perfect. But it's mine and feels stronger and better than for me to have bought one. Thanks for your videos. New subscriber here.

The ER I went to thought it was pericarditis but all the tests came back negative so they eventually thought it was muscles skeletal inflammation so I’m still dealing with that, been taking strong anti inflammation meds so I’m still trying to get over it, glad your doing better yo!

Ive been into martial arts my whole life and its so amazing to see that all warriors and tribes were connected thru discovering the universe, the earth and who we are, life force. I found myself with renewed confidence after wearing my wooden Mjonir daily (it was hand carved in Bulgaria.) wanna get one of the ones on your shop and try those out. Though I’m somewhat allergic to metal anything metal seems to cause irritation on my skin. Which is why I have only worn a wooden one lately. Though still wanna get that silver one. Try it out , and if I don’t wear it at least I’ll have something more authethic. Now back to my personal experience I felt like I had a renewed sense of creativity, and desire to get strong got back into fitness shortly after. That very well could be placebo I guess. Though I will say there was improvement , beyond the gym I got back into writing, and researching and learning. Greatly improved my mood and behavior I’d say. I haven’t worn mjonir as often the past few days (still daily but I’ve taken it off for a good portion of the day most days, but this video inspired me to grab my mjonir and put it on yet again)
