Why the Plymouth Valiant is Perfect Prey for the Demonic Peterbilt in Duel

I see quite a bit wrong here, the truck in the TV version of the movie was a 1957 Peterbilt 281 that had a 1673 Cat engine, the truck that was used to extend the movie likely also had a 1673 Cat as well but not the Cat air cleaner. The 1960 Peterbilt 281 (as of this posting) is not documented anywhere being tied to the 1971 or 1972 filming of the movie and was not seen in Duel makeup prior to 1999/2000. Let's not even mention the stolen video at 4:17 and 5:03. The full video of the stolen clips can be seen on either mine or Neil Losasso's youtube channels as I filmed it in January of 2005 with Neil's help.

Dad was a truck driver, and he rushed home the night Duel aired, he insisted we watch it📺 on TV instead of our usual Friday routine. The suspense of the plot ,the unseen driver, Dennis Weavers terror he portrayed trying to outrun the relentless Peterbuilt & the ending, afterwards family outings on the road became a lookout for tailgating trucks.....

It's an amazing movie isn't it? Have to say after making this video I was trained on the rear view mirror expecting a rusty old truck to fill it. But instead it was mainly Kia Rios.

If only Mr. Mann had a 1965 Ford Shelby Cobra or a 1968 Stingray Corvette. The Valiant was a cute machine. For a 4 door car. Nothing in comparison with a Plymouth Duster or Demon fastback.
