The saddest part of the red wedding is knowing that catelyn died thinking all of her children were dead ,and that her husband betrayed her for another woman he refused to talk about. Out of all the death in thrones, hers was definitely the most bitter.

Catelyn was an idiot. She treated Jon like sh!t like it was his fault for being born. She let Littlefinger manipulate her into activating Ned against the Lannisters. The Red wedding really makes you really feel the fallibility of human existence in the pit of your stomach. It encapsulates so well how death is, by showing us that our lives in a similar capacity to The Stark guests can be taken away, without so much as a by your leave indiscriminately. We are not the main character even if we thought we were. Very Tragic , very true. Phenomenal television.

It’s so true about the connection to fictional characters. I still get mad and sad when I think about Robb Stark getting stabbed in the back. Had he been a real person I would’ve called my banners and marched to war right then and there. He would’ve been such a great king.... When Walter Frey says “I’ll find another” you know that all hope is lost and all I could think was “I can’t wait for Jon Snow to kill all of you”. Some people want Jon Snow to really be dead in the books but imo that would be going just a tad too far. I can get behind killing off characters in the story but if you kill the heart and soul of your book you ruin the story and imo Jon Snow and Danny are the heart and soul of the story and if they die it needs to be at the end

Just watched this show for the 4th time and I sobbed like a baby watching this episode. The most emotional scene of all tv and film out there

How hilarious would it be if Cat slapped Bolton only to realize he just didn't feel like taking off his chainmail that day?

This left me quite teary. I remember just staring blankly on the screen whenn the episode ended as the credits didn't have any music whatsoever. One of the greatest moments in TV history indeed.

This episode messed me up so bad. I felt like I ran full speed into a brick wall. I was crying, i was angry, i was in shock, i was like Peter when they switched out his "I can't believe it's not butter". I was really a ballsy thing to do and remember asking myself if the writers and directors really just did that and it isn't even a finally. But as much as I hated what happened but loved the directors for pulling it off I was even more in tuned as to what could happen next. I have been watching TV shows and movies for years to the point where I could predict what was gonna happen next and the fact that I couldn't predict shit in GOT I was hooked

Robb Stark dying at the Red Wedding is the equivalent of if Simba had been murdered by Timone and Pumba in the Lion King and Scar just lives on until a Hyena poisons him.

Just an amazing episode and it's the "no one is safe" element of the show that went out of the window in the last 2 seasons and I think it is what Stranger Things is missing. I met David Bradley who plays Walder Frey and told him that scene had scarred me for life. 🤣 I would however argue that 24 did it before GoT. *Spoiler Alert* Jack having to kill Ryan Chappelle in season 3 was very unexpected and totally changed the usual narrative of coming up with a plan to save someone at the last second.

I remember reading the Red Wedding many years ago. I was so angry that I literally threw the book across the room. Of course I picked it up again 10 minutes later.

After the scene Richard Madden had to catch a plane and did not have time for goodbyes or processing what just happened. He said in a couple of interviews he was still covered in fake blood and then started crying hysterically. Can't imagine how gut punching that was 😅

As per GRRM, The Red Wedding was inspired by the slaughter of MacDonalds at the Massacre of Glencoe. Although the guest rights were reversed as the MacDonalds were killed by the Campbell troops they were quartering.

I love 😍love your channel! Your content is perfectly narrated and I enjoy watching and listening to you tell the story behind it. The Red Wedding ripped my guts out.... literally!! I got🤢 to my stomach watching the entire thing.... and only when they showed Robs wolf's head being worn on one of the enemy's heads did I allow myself to run to the bathroom! Thanks for the memories!!

I just rewatched season 3 in it’s entirety a few weeks ago for the first time in five or so years and it still hit hard. I’ve tried watching Rains of Castamere on its own but it just doesn’t have the same punch as when I first saw it. But when you rewatch seasons 1-3 in their entirety god damn it hits just as hard as it did the first time if not more so. I also got really attached to Robb since we were about the same age when I first got into Song of Ice and Fire. Shit stings man… shit stings
