As a woman i completely agree. Thank you for putting an effort in trying to figure that out. I always feel what my partner feels. I thought that men just like to hide their feelings from everyone and pretend. But from your video i understand that they may not be aware of their feelings themselves. Wow

As a man I’m aware of my own feelings. I can’t always decipher them correctly though. But one thing to take into account is if your husband/boyfriend is working a lot and trying to level up life for both of y’all you gotta realize your not always gonna be first on his mind. Men deal with multiple stressors on a day to day basis im still learning to control stress im only 22 years old. I’m not siding one way or the other I believe alot of these topics are circumstantial. For instance if your man is trying to get you a house so y’all can raise a family and he’s doing what he’s supposed to and busting his butt he’s gonna be focusing on how to get out of that situation. Now that doesn’t excuse him if you sit down with him and let him know you feel unloved/ uncared for in a emotional capacity. And he doesn’t respond appropriately that is completely on him. I’m against bad communication. If you have an issue with something of your partner you should be able to bring it up to him instead of lashing out or bottling emotions until the point you lose interest and look for someone new.

Depending on the level of maturity in the woman. If she needs to be entertained all the time then she is not right for marriage. Marriage involved a lot of day to day responsibilities. Not only the man in the marriage needs to grow up, but the womn also. The reason men are attracted to immature women is because they are fun to be with. These girls are willing to go anywhere and do anything with you. But they are not fit for marriage. After marriage either they will leave the boring marriage life or you will divorce them because you have enough.

This is a pretty naive view and doesn't understand Techlead's mindset. As a male immigrant software developer from a developing country I think its important to understand the background to which many of us belong. I believe the techlead also does so. Men in Asian countries are generally expected to withstand all emotional shocks. This is like annealing where you shock them and cool them really quick without giving them time to settle (check the academic structure of all asian countries especially for STEM). This causes men(as they are still majority in stem) to either become really hard and emotionally brittle (ask them when they last cried and most won't even remember. Honestly years pass!!) or completely deteriorate and go in severe depression (check out depression and suicide statistics in these countries). Maybe you won't even get older depression stats as most people don't even bother to collect them, leave the social stigma of reporting. The second part is the tech industry. No tech person likes to be called a "geek" or a "nerd". It is a cost you have to pay in your social moulding when you develop 1000s of lines of complex software. We have put 100s of hours in this to get it working and have no simple words to describe what we do to our spouse/child/non tech manager as well at times. You don't need any therapy for this, just more socializing after attaining a stable career. Techlead was an early game creator and a founder, most people might not even realise how much dedication that needs and how much risk and patience is involved in the initial phase. The third reason I suspect and am not sure about is financial and family background. My friends from India have taken huge loans to come to US, more than twice their initial home country salary. This makes many people to live on the bare minimum and fear the nightmare of going back jobless. Try living with Indian MS CS students in comparatively less expensive university accomodation and you will know what I mean. With this experience, any luxury over and above appears huge and every peny is accounted for (maybe that's why we aren't known for tipping well.) Now let's come to the perspective of such a person's spouse coming from a completely different background especially if it was more risk free or stable. Most psychological pressures and stresses perceived as really strong might be considered as non-existent as we (techies) have gone through much worse (and not unharmed to clarify). The downside being many techies not giving much importance to health, looks, hobbies, etc and failing to give their best to possible spouse or actual spouse. (Maybe that's why they have a spouse from the same country in an "arranged" marriage). Now consider the Techlead's videos and his success. All factors that make his behaviour as it is are the same as what made him successful techlead. The same factors gave him the emotional stability and also the emotional blindness. The same factors allow him to give the best expensive gifts and also make him less available emotionally. You can't feel the pain equally and also be able to bear much more of it. Most of us techies are still men so many women don't know these things. I do agree with the conclusion that conversations help a lot but these need a lot of patience as the social and emotional background is very different. In case you are a spouse of a techie please give him/her more time and try to make him/her open up much more. That's why I dislike this video.

What he's saying is far, far worse than that. "Never so much as feel a negative emotion, regardless of circumstance, because even if you recognize and handle it in a mature way, it causes women to be unable to regulate themselves. Take control of every situation and never give an inch. If you fail these, women are justified not only in leaving you, but in extrajudicial denial of custody." Not only is it batshit crazy, it's useless advice. The only way for a man to behave like his ideal is to be a sociopath.

It is a terrible idea to live with a person's family. It is bad for the individuation process for a young couple. Problem is that techies think only about savings and not about emotions. The wife must have felt not the warmest feelings to the in laws, that she expressed trepidations. If the wife expressed so much trepidation, they should have rented a home alone.

@@HauteBabe Well said. Programming is good for creating things and make things happen, but one can't create / sustain true love via that system. :) Using logic is not forbidden in relationships though: if your wife literally avoids spending time at home the obvious and logic conclusion would be, that she's probably not very happy at home. If you care about your wife's happiness, you probably would move out from your parents (as a millionare) at that point.

Yeah and it is not just in-laws. Living with relatives nearby is also a bad environment for a young couple. It happened to my aunt. She was living next door to my older aunt and older aunt can't stop herself from controlling the life of younger aunt. They had fights and after a few years my younger aunt moved to another place and had a peaceful life. This happens all the time in asian families because it is tradition to follow what older members of the family say even if it is wrong.

Women both try to guess your emotions AND communicate rationally with words. At least emotionally mature do. And the reason why women are geared towards emotions, and men towards ratio are society's guidelines and stereotypes. I guess most men just don't see the need to verbalize everything they feel, or pay attention to everything they feel, because then it would make life so much more unpleasant and be conscious about all your feelings and suffer some kind of emotional overload. Like for what??? It's a blessing to be naturally ignorant and oblivious about certain things, especially those that you know yet can't do anything about it. What's the whole point of talking about it over and over again when we should just do something about the problem and get rid of it once and for all? Sometimes verbalizing or pondering over what you feel is a waste of time...that time could be better spent taking some sort of productive action to get rid of that situation or get you out of that situation.

This is a mostly good video, but as a woman I'll correct you on some points. Men are VERY emotional, but usually the only emotion we get from them is sulking/anger. This is because anger is not considered a sign of weakness and we raise men to be strong and other emotions are unacceptable. Women however are allowed to feel the whole gamut of emotions because we don't mind or expect women to be strong, though society often puts them in situations where they have to bear a lot, and bury it, but we rarely like an angry woman. So the emotions that men and women are allowed to express do not overlap. Men are largely unaware of their feelings so that they can be strong, and can show anger, and women are attuned to pick up on the emotional cues of others to nurture and care. I've seen that if parents encourage otherwise these expressions can change. We are widening the gap of what men and women are by encouraging gender roles rather than just encouraging people to find the commonalities more between men and women therefore relationships are doomed to fail.
@josiekoch7589
@josiekoch7589 2 жыл бұрын
i hear your first point often, but i don’t know if it’s actually true. i know plenty of guys who are holistically emotional- expressing anger, joy, sadness, etc. not hating and i agree that almost any anger in woman is not seen as socially acceptable. people should just be encouraged to love everyone. also, of course, i think we should note than women don’t all think the same or even similarly. in his first example, notably, one girl thought the guy seemed very calm while the other thought he seemed very anxious.

mehh - if this is true, then we have to admit to the fact that men and women are fundamentally different. But that's a huge generalisation. I've seen some women not very emotional, whereas I've seen very emotional men (cry-babies if you will) and I'm not a big fan of putting people into 'buckets' - especially if the bucket is as large as male vs female (which literally splits the population in half) This is quite a beefy claim and I'd love to see some scientific evidences - to which I've seen none. The model we should be looking at are the Scandinavian countries, who essentially "nailed it". They usually treat both boys and girls equally and they actually end up having very similar traits. Empathy is an acquired skill, so the traits that describe a typical woman are possessed by boys. Also, if you actually listen to why TechLead left his wife, he barely mentions their arguments (which is why I'm kind of wondering how this guy knows anything about his attitude / interaction with his wife) it's mostly to do with the fact that she's a narcissistic psychopath. Whether that part is true or not is not clear to me, but as someone who dated someone similar, it just struck all the chords. This just seems like another guy trying to piggy-back off of TechLead's success (like Tren Black) by criticising him.

@@matlenaghan7488 I do agree that we have different bodies, different hormones, etc. However, what I am saying is that most of the traits we gain that we think of as "feminine" and "masculine" are latent attributes we gain as we are socially conditioned. As someone who studied STEM and in the field of tech, I know plenty of women who would be described as men in this video. As someone who had to collaborate with Art colleges (RCA, UAL etc) I am aware of men who would be labelled "feminine" according to this video. But don't take it from my personal experience, as it is a very small sample of a very large population. Scandinavian countries' example is perhaps the only one that is actually representative or done at a scale we can safely say it's reliable. You saying "Lol men and women are fundamentally different" is not evidence nor logical argument. However, if you could please enlighten me with social studies done by professionals, I would be happy to listen.

I don't have an opinion on this gender essentialism vs socialization thing, but I think the red flag in this video is that he is admitting to just repeating something he got in an online course. So maybe some PUA type stuff. Also not clear if he even tried it or if it fixed anything for him. I think it is fair to rephrase the video as women are emotionally immature and like sociopathic men. If a man gives an inch on anything, it's lack of confidence. If a man feels - not even intentionally displays - any negative emotion, regardless of circumstance, a woman has "no choice" but to leave and is even not culpable for fleeing a country to deny custody rights. Women can't be that evil and successful relationships can't be that devoid of communication and negotiation.
@thedualtransition6070
@thedualtransition6070 Жыл бұрын
@@someguy6075 You are confusing gender a cultural term, with sex a biological term. You mean sex essentialism, as in "human males and human females are different". Given that gender (man, woman) is now used in a way completely divorced from sex (e.g. trans women) "gender essentialism" makes no logical sense. Its really "nature vs. nurture" an age-old debate which should have been tossed the minute that epigenetics was understood, as that points to nature creating a set of possible outcomes that the lived experience "selects" from and develops. For example, "tomboys", "girlie girls", there are multiple possible paths. The videographer is using utterly simplistic and stereotypical conceptualizations the one would expect from a geek who is looking for black/white answers in a complex and inter-subjective world.

His wife probably left him because he worked all the time and had no time for her. Yet, my guess is he went to Japan and brought her to the US and promised her riches. She got riches as he now pays her and their child not to be his family anymore; plus she's back in her own country enjoying a better life. Most high level IT workers I know are divorced or on the verge. Working 50 to 90 hours a week (includes studying and new learning) kills relationships. It killed my relationships, except I never got married. For me as a senior level developer/architect, I now focus on my 2 side hustles, rather than my chosen career. TechLead is correct that coding is a grunt job. Sure the money is good, but continually learning throughout your career is such a waste of time.

Interesting video. Tech Lead has some useful advice but his communication is very abrasive. Unless you have the hide of an elephant your skin will start to get raw and painful and you will need to flee in order to recuperate. Kind of like being licked by a loving cat. Alternate point of view. No one is perfect. What I think is most important is how to successfully work through and solve conflict, being able to look at the long term up and downs of the relationship and not just the immediate short term gains. Dating can be like momentum investing, you look for a bargain deal with a lot of upside potential, but once the quarterly results are lacking you remember not to catch a falling knife. And if he made a mistake and says he sorry, don't fall for that dead cat bounce.

If a woman does not respect her man, she will leave. She must constantly push to find her limits with him. Women are never ok with stagnation. The relationship is moving forward, as they define it, or it's over. The moment she nags you into doing what she wants, just to shut her up, you have just lost your wife. She must never be allowed to direct the relationship. I've watched women push for months just to see how far they can push and try to break him. Oddly when he has had enough and gives her a slap or punch, she displays dismay, but in fact has more respect for him than ever before. Best advice is to never take any manipulation from her. The moment she starts you must end it immediately and with enough force that she knows to stop right then. Relationships are a battle for dominance never have they ever been a partnership. Women want a strong, dominant male and they will push to get that from their companion. Don't waste time talking or negotiating with her. She will see you as weak and thats the end of the companionship.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. First of all, I think your premise is utterly wrong. The TechLead is not a nice guy. He is a right-wing libertarian with strong misogynistic tendencies. I have watched a lot of his videos, and I (as a cis male) can totally understand that his wife left him. You don't go into detail about him, so I have to assume that you are just using him for clickbait. Second, this whole talk of "men are like so, women are like so" is total nonsense. There is a wide spectrum of men, there is a wide spectrum of women, and there is a very big overlap. Your only evidence is an "experiment" with four people that was staged by a dating guru of all people. Dating gurus are not trustworthy, and many of them are misogynistic as well. I guess it's a valid assumption that you were at fault for all the breakups that you had experienced. It may even be true that your communication skills needed improvement. But it could as well be the case that you had a tendency of choosing the wrong women. Or something else entirely, I don't want to speculate here. I do have my doubts that the rate of surprises and gifts plays a crucial role in the success of a relationship. This kind of view is too simplistic and utilitarian. I mean, being nice and tender is not wrong. I think what helps most is to know your values and life goals and to match them with the potential partner's values and life goals. Maybe also split the household and childcare duties evenly.

Mai qui mon amie...exactly... women are emotional creatures.. and some are also very smart too. Communication is not just via logic but by depth of feelings and body language! Ce sa?! Kk.. Moi francais je parle peur...its been a long while since je suis parler le francais...lol. Carry on..your spot on! Btw.. emotions and body language help a woman connect and understand the needs of her child/children and even hubby..its encoded in a woman's DNA infact! Woman is made from the rib of Adam to be a companion and helpmate.. different in essence but equal. We the one is weak the other is strong..so overall as a team aka becoming one..they balance each other out. G_d made them that way for a reason and well ...only G_d knows what He's doing, it's a Bible thingy and I don't think that techie nerd ever read the judaeo Christian Bible!!!...lol In a humble way that techie guy is being self righteous which is also ego driven aka little god of Self...and he puts himself on the pedestal while judging and condemning her! Ya.. both are human.. both make mistakes but looking down on his ex wife and the condemnation does not help at all. One must learn to walk in the others shoes to gain understanding. Of topic but still applicable... well... being poor and in lack is not fun either.. this techie need being a millionaire.. this man has not viewed the other side of the coin/equation at all! Money is a means to an end for survival and gives stability to the family unit. Also my scriptures teach that it is good to be a blessing to others and show hospitality and generosity to the ones who have nothing aka the poor. Stingyness is also a type of hidden greed aka covetness btw! G_d Yahweh loves a cheerful giver aka having a giving spirit/essence which is a form of loving others ... as genuine love is an action and a outflow from Self and is selfless. After all jesus/yehoshuah said it best.. now do likewise!...lol shalom.

I disagree with a lot in this video. You started to kind of get it in some parts, but fell flat. It's called emotional intelligence, soft & social skills which is what you "logical" guys refuse to work on & lack severly. You can't maintain a relationship if you're a boring robot. Add on being cheap & it's a recipe for disaster. If all women wanted were walking ATM machines then they'd literally marry ATMs. TechLead is lucky his wife didn't outright cheat on him. There is no excuse for not knowing how women think if you're going to be dealing with them everyday. There is also no excuse for not working on your social & soft skills. I've seen plenty of stereotypical nerds whose wives were doing stuff with more charismatic guys behind their backs even if the other guy was broke & the nerd a millionaire. There is also a difference between a nice guy & a good guy. TechLead is not a good guy. He's pretty emotionless, brags a lot & his personality is grating along with many other flaws he has. It's no surprise he keeps getting fired from jobs. Edit: Apparently in another video he says his wife was texting some other guy a lot on Facebook so she DID display signs of cheating if she didn't outright go & hook up with the guy on one of those many outings where she was "just driving around with the kid" in-order to not stay in the house with his parents.
