Pule donkey cheese is the most expensive cheese in the world. Produced by only one farm in the world, pule will cost you about $600 for a single pound. Making it requires more time and effort than most other cheeses. You need over 6.5 gallons of donkey's milk just to make one kilogram of cheese. That's 2.5 times more than what you need to make mozzarella. So how does pule compare to other types of cheese? And why is it so expensive?

The only issue is to do something like he is doing you need donations or government help. Because most people can't do stuff like this full time and not make a profit most people have to make a living to pay for food, place to live etc. I understand what you mean and it is amazing that he is helping this species from extinction and by creating the cheese he is also creating an incentive for others to do it as well.

@maxpulido4268 2 жыл бұрын
Bro it's a donkey. You could save them from extinction by just releasing them to a nature preserve. As long as you don't kill them they won't go extinct. The donkey itself doesn't give a damn about "preservation of the breed."

Well, apparently from other vids about the cost of things, most things are only pretty cheap/affordable to us coz of the huge cost to the environment and other people that those companies hide in their marketing, otherwise we should be paying more for even regular fast food. Most people wouldn't want that though, so the race is for improving the production & operation processes, balance sustainability of the business and environment (after a lot of push and shove from activists and then policy makers)

Yeah it won't be long before theyre feeding coffee beans to their donkeys and then literally collecting the beans coming out their azz (no pun intended lol) to then sell it as a prestigious coffee. Have you seen where I believe its the Asians who feed coffee beans to cats and then collect them coming out the azz to then sell it for ridiculous prices that there's actually people stupid enough to pay it.

@@konstantin2061 based on how little absolutely everything that costs wildly more is actually ever different and how little variation in texture and flavor there already is in this particular kind of cheese. At that price point its usually a matter of perception. People largely can't tell the difference between good wine and great wine, just between good wine and bad wine.

I'm just guessing, but some factors might be the temperature the milk must be heated to and how long it remains at that temperature in order to be considered pasteurised. Simply heating up the milk until it steams won't kill off all bacteria.
