This is exactly why competition works. You get better batteries, software, safety, efficiency, features, etc. Tariff protections for obsolete industries only prolongs their collapse, keeps customers in the dark ages.

But if an adversarial power uses its endless loans from the IMF(America and Europe) to fund deficit industries to destroy your industries no matter what the cost, do you buy their products to shove the knife in your self? China has socialist planning and public money. US is a corporatocracy with private corporate money. China used a form of tariffs to kick start their auto industry. Then, they pumped it with state credit, built out colleges, and invested in an updated grid. Tariffs are good, but they must be paired with industrial planning, which the US as a finance corporatocracy can not do.

A comment on Xpeng from Denmark where they are selling really well. The G6 just started to appear on the roads here. Xpeng has teamed up with the national Mercedes Benz dealer network, Hessel where you now can buy the cars, test drive them and have them serviced. They have proved to be very customer orientated and actually listen to their customers. It looks like many of the updates and improvements come from customer feedback. This is what I get from the Danish Xpeng Facebook groups at least 🙂 I do not own an Xpeng but the G6 is on the top 3 list of potential next cars.

Jeg så den idag woow. Den så så flot ud invendig i århus. Orange læder 😊😊😊 håber du får en god en
@more9lives4 ай бұрын
I can confirm that Xpeng is very, very customer oriented. I''m driving the G9 SR since last November and yes, the software has not been perfect from the start. But quickly user groups were formed and those groups came into contact with Xpeng. Through the dealers in the different countries the feedback from these groups gets collected and forwarded to the dev teams in China. For example. In the early software there were a LOT of bleeps and plongs and other warning sounds that apparently are a thing in Chinese cars. Maybe due to regulations? I do not know. However, this was huge pain for European owners. Two SW updates later those sounds were could permanently turned off. Another example: there were a lot of complaints about the auto lane change functionality. This did not work very well. This took a little long to fix but since the latest release the car is so much more confident in automatically changing lanes. I use it a lot. Another complaint was that, when on Lane Centering Control & ACC mode, the car would be quite close to trucks when over taking. Since the latest release, when the car sees you will be over taking a truck, it will gently move a bit more to the left to leave a bigger gap between you and the truck. This makes it feel more safe and comfortable. The lines between customers and the dev teams in Xpeng are not very long and my experience up until now is that they really are listening to their customers. I guess they realize that feedback from customers is like having free real world test results. Regarding the G9. This is my first EV so probably part of my enthusiasm about the G9 is due to the fact that EV's generally are nicer to drive. Because of the silence and instant and ever present torque. But apart from that the car feels very well designed. I drove a Skoda Kodiaq before, which I really liked. But compared to that car the G9 definitely is step up regarding driving comfort, technology and refinement. Since a few weeks the XOS, the SW that drives the control screens, got a complete revamp. Much more intuitive and user friendly. With the option to split the screen in two-third/1-third sections where you can display different applications. E.g. the surrounding view (displaying the cars around you. Like Tesla) and the navigation map. You can also place a whole row of short cuts on the bottom of the screen. E.g. for the seat heating, phone, seat ventilation what ever. Full customisable. Is the car perfect ? No, but since the sw updates will be monthly from now on (with a few updates being major releases) the car will become better and better. In all the years I drove Citroen, Ford, Skoda Octavia, Seat Ateca, Skoda Kodiaq I never had 1 single SW update to my car. Even in the later models Skoda advertised that the car could receive SW updates.

Nineteen minutes. Call it twenty two by the time you reverse into the bay and hook up. That’s still about fifteen minutes too long if you’re sitting in your EV waiting for a charge bay to become available. What if you’re number two in the line, you’re waiting for 40 minutes then it takes 20 minutes to charge your own EV, that’s an hour of your day wasted. I would go bonkers. Let me know when you’re in and out of a public charge point in 4 minutes from 10% to 100% fully charged and on your way. That’s when I’ll consider getting an EV.

I used to think like that. But I don't feel like it anymore. The range I get on my Standard Range G9 is about 380km. I charge about 1 per week. Very often at home. I do not live very far from work. But my family lives a bit further away. E.g. my mother in law lives about 140km from here. So I can pay her a visit on 1 charge easy. And if I forget to have the car fully charged, I stop at a fast charger along the way and add 100km in 5 minutes. You do not always have to charge to 100%. I do that at home. This summer i was a kind of nervous when we drove to Umbrie, Italy. About 1500km. I was worried about having to search for charging location, defect chargers, occupied chargers. But we experienced none of that. Not in the Netherlands, not in Germany, not in Switzerland and not in Italy. Every 250km - 300km or so we stopped, hooked up the car to the charger, visited a toilet or got a coffee and when we were back, the car had reach 90% or something and we were on our way. No stress...

I do like the EVs that Renault and Peugeot are currently bringing to the market. And probably the European brands will catch up providing more value for money. I do hope they will. I am chauvinistic enough to prefer to drive a European car :-) But I am also someone who would like to get the best bang for his buck. And this time the G9 was just the best offer. In my opinion the European car industry has been way to conservative in the past so I think it is good that they are now being challenged.

Maybe you should bring in some facts or label it as xPeng advertising? How many units were sold in Europe?

dude, you sold it more than the salesman 🤣🤣🤣, they need to cut you a check pronto💰💰. Looks like a good car though, have a MG4 and the software is terrible, making me rethink Chinese EV's to be honest, car has nearly killed me 8 times, I think I have one more life left 🤣🤣

I really like the channel. But please be realistic when you are trying to promote something. There is no 800v charging infrastructure anywhere else in the world except China. So this 19 minutes charging time is not achievable in the short term and should be treated as a feature!!
@GruffSillyGoat4 ай бұрын
Not true, 800v charging is available in Europe, South Korea and other countries. it's more a feature of those countries where three phase electricity supplies are standard as the charger batteries can be quickly recovered after performing a charge. There are a fair number of charger operators who support 800v charging. In the UK for example Ionity and Gridserve support 800v at their sites where 350kW/460kW DC chargers are installed, also some of the operators offer 800v at sites with 150kW DC charging. In some European countries most chargers 50kW, and above, are now 800v capable.

OMG, what an awful representative for such an amazing car. The guy does not even know something as basic as the battery capacity. Unfortunatelt, that lack of knowledge and passion for the cars they are selling is something I am finding very often at dealerships. I do not know how people like that keep their jobs. A piece of paper with the specs would be a better salesman than guys like the one on the video.
