It isn't just fish that have microplastic like that in their body tissue, humans do too. It's everywhere: in the food we eat, beverages we drink, and in the cosmetic products we use, so naturally it accumulates in everyone unless you live off grid in the middle of nowhere with a clean untouched water source.

yup, they even find it in blood samples taken from the umbilical cord of unborn fetus. I read that there are over 50 different micro plastics in new born babies. Roughly 35% of those plastics are not even researched half-way properly ... great world to set new life in ... : /

As someone who has watched their own ceiling collapse with water, it is one of the most horrific and disheartening things to watch. Afterwards, It’s not the cleaning up that’s the worst. It’s not even the hole it self. It’s what’s on the other side. It’s when things dry off and it’s the fifth day after the hole has been dried up and you have to pass under it for some reason. There’s a small part of you that fights to not look up into it because you aren’t entirely sure what you’ll see. It’s a double fear of possibly seeing critters or a boogeyman. And also “I don’t know if I can afford to get this fixed. Oh god what else is going to fall apart?”

@lukekendall29753 жыл бұрын
The planes are actually quite good for the environment as they act as artificial reefs. Ofcourse certain compoments are removed. We actually see this with a lot of our debris and structures. Piers offer shelter for fish and anchor points for mussels and I saw a documentary where a group of small fish were using a milkcrate as shelter. We need to releaise that we are apart of nature and even things that we do that we may percieve as bad may actually benefit some thing somewhere. Tho that plastic ting is probably bad however effects on health are still unknown.

@Sarge922 жыл бұрын
your correct you can thank recycling for that recycling is a game about losses the bottle you recycled gets sent to a proccessing facility and sold onto companies to recycle not everything is EASILY recyclble so they take what they can make money from and sell the rest onto the next guy to recycle who repeats the proccess removing the easy stuff for there proccess and selling on eventually when you reach theend of the line the profit margins are so tight that tehy cant even afford to pay the landfill fees soooo they just illigally dump it often in the ocean the theory about ocean currents smashing it and grinding it into tiny particles is partially true but the reality of it is alot of it is tiny plastic pieces that couldnt be recycled so got illigally dumped because recycling has never been about saving the enviroment its about making money

There are several of those around the world unfortunately- the most know is the Pacific Ocean garbage patch which is TWICE the size of Texas. Its not just people failing to throw away trash- but floods and storm serges that pull everything out with the tides. Cool! Anyway here is the recipe for Banoffee pie! **Ingredients:** **For the Crust:** - 1 1/2 cups (about 150g) graham cracker crumbs - 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted - 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar **For the Toffee Filling:** - 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter - 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar - 1 can (14 ounces/397g) sweetened condensed milk **For the Topping:** - 3 to 4 ripe bananas, sliced - 1 1/2 cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional) **Instructions:** **1. Prepare the Crust:** - In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined. - Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch (23cm) pie dish to form an even crust. Use the back of a spoon to compact the crust. - Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling. **2. Make the Toffee Filling:** - In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. - Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. - Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the toffee thickens. Be careful not to burn it. - Pour the toffee filling over the chilled crust. Allow it to cool, and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set. **3. Assemble the Pie:** - Once the toffee filling has set, arrange the sliced bananas on top. **4. Prepare the Whipped Cream Topping:** - In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. - Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to whip until stiff peaks form. - Spread the whipped cream over the banana layer, covering the pie evenly. **5. Garnish and Serve:** - Optionally, garnish the pie with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder. - Chill the Banoffee Pie in the refrigerator for at least another hour before serving. **6. Serve and Enjoy!** - Slice and serve this delicious Banoffee Pie to your family and friends. It's best enjoyed chilled. This recipe combines the creamy toffee filling with the sweetness of bananas and the lightness of whipped cream, creating a delightful and indulgent dessert. Enjoy!
