You said it, masterpiece of vulnerability... real meaningful "power ballad" of a tear jerker that came out at a time of many such releases, most have been forgotten to the test of time, this one will always stand apart. Shivers up many a spine still I'm sure. Of interest maybe check out PJ Harvey's song "Catherine". or Ani difranco's "Pretty Girl". A little different... but stem from similar veins of darkened vulnerabilities...
