@@glennlanham6309 Because your comment is axiomatic, I put the disclaimer. Daily, I get some version of a 6th grade essay from a troll on... Why Mary is dead People in heaven can't hear you You Catholics worship idols You are trying to earn your own salvation instead of trusting Jesus, Purgatory is a "second chance after death" ("and that's not... biblical!!!!") Why do you say the pope is infallible? Nobody's perfect but Jesus!!! THE CRUSADES!!! Adding books to the Bible Babies can't believe in Jesus Asking for prayer from a saint is necromancy! A crucifix means you don't believe in the resurrection Call no man father All you need is Jesus (no priests!) Also (weirdly) we are all priests (just let that sink in with the previous comment as a backdrop) The Eucharist is just a symbol Etc. etc. etc. Its my penance for teaching and advancing these lies and mischaracterizations of Catholic doctrine for so many years. The ignorance here on the youtube machine is never ending.

@@KennyBurchard I enjoy your list, It helps me trust in the Church Not that it is meant to be all inclusive, a couple that have amazed me are a) God hates it when you try to save yourself, just believe. b) Catholics think Jesus' death is insufficient and they sacrifice him on the cross at mass. c) God hates you because your a sinner. God will wrath on you because of your false Catholic beliefs.

Thank you!! When I was exploring Catholicism and in RCIA, I was constantly attacked for studying Catholicism. I would have links to James White, Mike Gendron, and other haters of Catholicism sent to my inbox. I knew these pastors had Catholicism all wrong. Either out of actual knowledge or just trusting in Jesus Christ. I was considering telling the one sending those links that those videos were very helpful in my conversion to Catholicism 😂😂

@@mariasoniamoreno3433 Catholicism was already doing that long before Luther. I don't believe Luther tried to reshape Catholicism, he wanted to excise the added false teachings. I will give an example: The sacrament of Penance: In the early Church there was no dogma of Penance and Confession. When Christians did grevious sins that affected the community, if they were penitent, repentant they would confess their sins to the WHOLE CHURCH. Because of scandal confession was changed to PRIVATE with the Bishop/priest. In The Eastern Church confession to the priest/bishop was OPTIONAL. In the East you could just confess to God alone in your prayer closet for forgiveness. Confession was never a sacrament. So the doctrine of Confession/Penance was the result of development of doctrine...evolution. Never was believed by the Apostles. So there is no reason to believe it.
@mariasoniamoreno3433

@@andrewjohn2124 I am not an expert, so here's something from the early church. “Private confession is implied in Canon 13 of the First Council of Nicaea (325). In addition, in the Letter Consulenti tibi to Bishop Exsuperius of Toulouse (405), Pope Innocent I referred to penance being granted for those who need it. In 459, Pope St. Leo I the Great wrote a letter Magna indignatione to All the Bishops of Campania, etc., stating: With regard to penance, what is demanded of the faithful is clearly not that an acknowledgement of the nature of individual sins written in a little book be read publicly, since it suffices that the states of consciences be made known to the priests alone in secret confession”. You didn't quote any real scholars, so here's the link if you want to give a more informed opionion next time: medium.com/@chrisantenucci/a-history-of-the-use-of-the-sacrament-of-reconciliation-in-the-early-church-8d0eaf275faf You can verify the facts; these days real information is available for free from reputable websites. Look for the websites that you prefer as long as they tell you the facts. But, speaking for myself, I believe that Jesus gave the apostles the authority to forgive sins and to lead His Church guided by the Holy Spirit. That, to me, solves the problem. The Catholic Church has apostolic succession and to this day has fulfilled its duty to keep the Body of Christ faithful to His teachings. If the Church decides to change a procedure, it has the God-given authority to do it. In this case, I think the heart of the sacrament is that the laity have their sin forgiven, not to keep a procedure rigidly in place. John 20:21-23 21st Century King James Version 21 Then said Jesus to them again, “Peace be unto you. As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said unto them, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained.” On the other hand, protestant doctrines such as sola scriptura, are disingenuous. Since protestant's interpretation of the Bible goes against documented history, patristics, relics, etc. they came up with a solution that gives them the freedom to come up with a totally new interpretation that ignores all other sources of reference.

@@lcringo3498 L C, Let me know if you find that Jesus founded any "protestant" church or sect, beyond what He said in His Word here: MATTHEW 16:18 18. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY CHURCH, and THE GATES OF HADES WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT. LUKE 10:16 16. “Whoever LISTENS TO YOU LISTENS TO ME, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” For what purpose? MATTHEW 28:19-20 19. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20. and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the end of the age.” How many churches? JOHN 17:17-23 17. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20. “I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, 21. that THEY MAY ALL BE ONE. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22. The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that THEY MAY BE ONE, AS WE ARE ONE, 23. I in them and you in me, that THEY MAY BECOME COMPLETELY ONE, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Do you want to contradict Jesus by insisting in the practice of a heresy called protestantism, invented in the 16th century by a man, against Jesus' Will? I hope you reflect on the facts exposed above. May God bless your discernment.

I was raised evangelic presbyterian in Colorado Springs. Once emancipated I never went back. There was nothing for me there Over the years I tried many protestant denominations but nothing called me to come back. In 2021 I discovered Bishop Robert Barron on the UNBELIEVABLE KZbin station. He debated a very popular young atheist Alex O’Connor. I was blown away with Bishop Barron’s voice of authority. I spent the Summer listening to Bishop Barron on KZbin. A little later I discovered Father John Riccardo - an incredible speaker & teacher. I also read the Scott Hahn’s books. I attended Christmas Eve Mass in 2021and something followed me out the door (The Holy Spirit). From that day onward I wanted to be at Mass.I started RCIA in Sep 2022 and became Catholic during the Easter vigil in 2023. Joining the Catholic church is the best thing I have ever done in my life! I have been Catholic for 13 years now. One day I was attending a Catholic Mass, and I had been upset about the sex abuse scandals I had recently heard about. As I was in Mass, I could not deny the Holiness of the Mass. I said to myself quietly under my breath, without really thinking, It just came out, "The Church is holy, it's individual people who aren't holy" That was like a light bulb going off for me... an epiphany for me! And it's true, the Catholic church is holy, it's people who are not. However, those who take their Catholic faith seriously strive to become holy as Jesus commanded us to be. "Be holy, as your Father in heaven is holy" One more thing I would like to say, When I entered into the Catholic church on Easter Vigil of 2010, the very first evening after being confirmed into the church, during my first evening prayer as a confirmed Catholic at bedtime... I said my prayers, got into bed, closed my eyes to go to sleep, not expecting anything other than to go to sleep, when I suddenly heard deep in my spirit these word, "Now I belong to you, and you belong to Me" When I told that to my new priest some months later, after moving to a new town, he said to me, "You heard that?" I said, "Yes, deep in my spirit I heard that" He said to me, "NEVER forget that!" I never have forgotten it, and I never will! Thanks be to God, I came home to the fulness of truth. I came home to the Catholic church! Amen 🙏

Converted in 2012. When I told my 85 year old fundamentalist mom, she said was obviously disappointed and her response was "I wish you would have become a Christian". I spent the next 10 years trying to educate her, but her response was ultimately, to each his own. When she died, I read her journal which contained her prayers, which included many asking God to show me the heresy in "idol worship ", and all the other stuff protestants think we believe or practice. She was too old to listen, but we were always very close and prayed together before she passed.

This is one of the most powerful conversion stories I've heard! I came back to the faith by the leading of the Holy Spirit (I say this in retrospect) from being hard core athiest, buddhist, Hindu/Hare Krishna, New Age, Ayahuasca taking, so I was moved to tears to hear the incredible sincerity and completely relatable reasoning guided solely by the desire to be closer to the absolute truth of existence. Although I didn't go the same path, the same conclusion eventually was reached.....For me, accepting Christ as the ultimate truth, then wanting to practice and believe the best method of realizing this truth. Yes, with all its flaws, the way for me and you, Kenny, is the church that Christ himself founded......the Catholic Church! God bless you on your Journey and I pray we, as the body of Christ, take responsibility for our church and work to make it what our Lord wants it to be. I explained that there were five B.A.S.I.C reasons I was becoming Catholic: "B" for Bible (i.e. understanding the history of the canon, satisfactorily dealing with passages that clearly taught differently than my denomination's doctrines, and the epiphany that the Bible does not teach Sola Scriptura), "A" for Authority (i.e. similar to "B", addressing the question of who has authority to interpret the Bible and teach on social/historical issues not explicitly addressed in the Bible) , "S" for Sacraments (i.e. the epiphany that God has given us objective means of grace as an act of His sovereign love, explicitly because of our inability to obtain grace on our own ... this seemed very "in character" to me for the God of the universe who spared nothing to be with us and die for our sins), "I" for Information (i.e. the avalanche of evidence I encountered on a daily basis testifying to the truth of Catholic teaching and claims), and "C" for Continuity (i.e. the Church's teaching about everything, including all the common objections, has been fundamentally the same since the first century ... so the distinctive doctrines in which I had been trained were in fact the inventions of men centuries after the NT era). The Lamb's Supper was also my first "Catholic book", and I didn't realize Scott Hahn was Catholic until I got about 2/3 through it. Like you, I've never been comfortable with the term "converted". I really like the way you put it, "stopped protesting .. fully reconciled". Also, I share your sentiment about my Pentecostal past; I cherish it and all the people associated with it, and I have nothing but gratitude for all of it. Thanks again for telling your story. It is very encouraging and helpful!

I praised with hands held up in the air when he said the Apostle’s Creed too! So beautiful I do the rosary for more conversions and come to know Catholicism is the true church and Catholics don’t brag, push or force anyone to convert and what I love most is Catholics don’t put any other religion down but we pray and love those that try to tear us down. At least that’s what i’ve been taught. Many blessings to this family🙏

Hi Kenny This is just what I needed to hear. I was raised Anglican and became Catholic when married. (Almost 44 years). I also work for a church. That experience hasn't always been the most positive. I've pulled back and haven't been to mass in awhile. Listening to you made me really look at what was going on inside. I need to spend more time in prayer to learn. Thank you for your video.

to believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God is to believe that the Church council in the 3rd Century A.D. was valid. But then again, to do that, you would have to be either Catholic or Orthodox. The Protestant position is self-refuting. If the Catholic Church is as bad as you say, then the gates of Hell have prevailed.

Your video is so enlightening and thank you for sharing. I was in the Pentecostal Evangelical Church for years. One day I was in the gallery of my old church and I cried out 'I can't do this anymore'. To be honest I was tired of having to be 'mighty' when I just wanted to be more contemplative. So I went back to the Catholic Church and I live in Ireland with all the clerical abuses that happened However, God spoke into the latter. but unfortunately, I did lose some friends. Plus, there was always that whisper that the Catholic Church is not of God. I have more peace after listening to you.
