If only Peter had waited as Jesus said rather than doing things in Acts 1 that Jesus nor God asked him to do. Imagine instead if Peter had waited for Jesus to fulfill Psalm 109:8 - May his days be few; may another take his position. Imagine if Peter and the 10 had readily accepted Paul into the group; what an amazing and unified church that would have been. It could still happen and will happen anyway, for nothing is impossible with God.

you can have your own opinions on the Bible but I know at 84yrs old what has worked for me. I had no real parents but an Uncle who was a businessman and was my example into the Presbyterian christian faith, As a result I ended up going overseas as a volunteer for the presbyterian church as volunteer to help build a new building for people to become teachers of GODS word, it has been very successful and the Presbyterian isa leader in this country ib spreading the gospel. I was a very successful teacher of English in China for ten years and was able to introduce the Bible to some of my students. After that i went to the Philippines and ended up taking two groups of inmates inside Bilibid and the Medium security prisons for public speaking as the they were studying at Theological University level to become Pastors on their release from prison, this has been a very successful scheme and has resulted in many inmates becoming pastors in the outer areas of the Philippines. I had no real parents but through my uncle I found Gods Blessing on my life and at 83yrs of age I was invited to come back to the Philippines as a volunteer for the Presbyterian church, where i am currently living together with a Filipino family who all have degrees from Universities, the person who invited me back to the Philippines is a valedictorian at University a second generation student and her four sons are also married and University students, the mother is chairperson of the local Presbyterian church.. My conclusion as a Protestant believer my experience has seen GOD and his SON JESUS CHRIST as the token father and guideline my 83yrs of being in the Christian faith.

Kenny, you make some excellent points in this video. Over the past few years, some of these topics have come up after studying the Orthodox and Catholic traditions. An interesting finding from a Coptic source brought up the issue of what was considered canonical and non-canonical to both Jewish and Christian communities relates to this topic. There wasn't a set canon for some time and we see this is illustrated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and a number of writings such as Enoch. This was truly an interesting video.

The Holy Spirit Helps Us To Interpret The Bible, Not The Church.

@@alfredvillela1019 With all due respect, I beg to differ. I attended four different protestant denominations who believed they had the correct interpretation of the Bible because of the same premise you stated. However, their interpretations differ from each other yet they believed their interpretation was the correct one.

That's TRUE, you can't interpret the Bibble, but through the Holy Spirit, you can understand. Before reading the Bibble, ask first the Holy Spirit to understand the WORD of GOD.

Jesus is the Lord! Kinda funny he says the Word of God and the Catholic church murdered people for translating and or publishing the Word of God... Then he starts in on the Word of God... Catholic church made it illegal to have a Bible and would burn you alive for having one...

@ Jesus Christ is the Lord! Tynedale among others was burned alive for translating the Bible among others... I remember back in the 80s the Catholic Church started giving Bibles out at comformation and one catholic friend was so excited... Most history before the reformation if you got caught with the Word of God the penalty was death. Just part of common very day history... Most wanted word of God kept locked up and only the Catholic Church would teach it

@@ScottDean-ee2hy Tyndale incorrectly translated the Bible -- there were better translations already in English, which was a developing language in the 1300s through the 1500s (just look at the crazy way English spells words!!) And the government considered that his teachings were treasonous, and that is what got him killed. St. Francis was always walking around with the Bible -- but it was written as daily readings. Since very few people knew how to read, it was part of the purpose of the Church to read aloud large portions of the Scriptures during Mass, and during the Liturgy of the Hours -- at all the monasteries and convents dotted throughout the countryside. And common folk had plenty of time to hear the Bible being read, because there were so many Holy Days, when no one did any work. (Remember, Christians did not develop a "Protestant Work Ethic" for 1500 years!) The Bibles that were chained to the lecterns were available to the few people who could read -- and chained so that they would not be stolen. You really need to learn about the Middle Ages, when Christianity was fighting to create a Christian Society.

When Martin Luther broke away from the truth as it had been faithfully handed down from Jesus through the apostles, led by St. Peter, he initiated a movement that ultimately opened the door to individual interpretation of Scripture. Without a central teaching authority to guide understanding, the Protestant movement began to splinter into numerous denominations. Today, estimates suggest that there are over 45,000 distinct Protestant denominations worldwide, each with differing doctrines, practices, and interpretations of the Bible. This fragmentation underscores the challenges that arise when personal interpretation replaces the unity provided by an authoritative teaching body. In contrast, the Catholic Church remains one, holy, catholic, and apostolic, as it has been for over 2,000 years. It continues to be guided by the Magisterium-the teaching authority of the Church, led by the Pope as the successor of St. Peter-ensuring consistency in doctrine and fidelity to the truth as revealed by Christ. This unity allows the Church to preserve the fullness of faith and sacraments across all cultures and generations, serving as the visible Body of Christ on earth.
