When there's a story connected to a guitar, it makes them much more special. I recently got a used 40th anniversary Tele, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I'm a 51 year old guitar player, and I also still have my first guitar that I started learning to play on. I'll never get rid of it. Your video just made me realize that I haven't played that guitar in over 15 years. Thank you for reminding me of that. The first thing I'm gonna do when I get home tonight is pull that old Epiphone out and play it. Thanks for sharing that history with all of us!

Hearing a story like yours is the best. There's almost always a story to be told for guitars. One of these days I should try out a Telecaster... they always sound amazing. Thanks for sharing!

So awesome your first electric is a Telecaster, mines is as well, a 1962 blonde reissue from the early 90’s; me dad got it for me as part of my sweet sixteen. I still have it today and it’s a big part of me.

Everyone's first guitar should be a Telecaster. Mine wasn't but when I did FINALLY get my first one,at age 62 and a Made in Mexico as well, I realized what an inspiration they are. Leo Fender truly got it right with the Telecaster right off the bat.

My electronics and computer boffin uncle moved to Torksey in Lincolnshire in 2002, and I used to love going to visit him there. Nice place with lots to see, and I liked going into Stokes cafe in the city centre, the old building with the tudor frontage and overlooking the canal.

I went into my local GC and saw a used black Gibson Les Paul Studio hanging on the wall. I took it down, looked at it, and put it back. A week later I went back to the GC to buy the guitar and was told that it had been sold that very morning. Oh well, I thought, it wasn't meant to be. A week after that, I went back to the GC still looking for my first guitar. And, what do I see? The black guitar that had been returned. It was probably returned because it's all beat up on the back, but it plays great. I guess it was meant to be after all.

I bought my 76 Tele when I was a teen. It had a Mary Kaye finish and was the absolute best playing Tele I’ve ever had but sold it when I got married. I’ve been looking for it for decades!! It has some distinguishing marks so I’ll know it when I see it… but I’ll probably never be able to find it. Hang on to your Tele!!

Awesome Telecaster with a great story behind it! Cool that you still have it, I wish I had the first electric I owned. Extra cool that you're from Lincoln, UK. I'm a history buff and was just reading about Lincoln recently since the first tanks were developed there by William Fosters & Co during the First World War.

Its nice to hear of a shop doin right by you. Not been Lincoln in years, fond memories of a little guitar/drum shop there near a concrete bridge (it were some years ago so the name escapes me) and on a proper busy main road. I am going back about 18yrs here though for I am an old fart... If you're looking for a decent shop though and ever in Derby, Hippo Guitars is always a good shout, ever changing stock of primarily preowned goodness, plus Woody n Jess are absolutely wonderful people :) Love the tele me duck, gotta love that twang n quack you get off em :) Serious question... have you ever tried a strat wired with the middle position as the neck n bridge? Sounds pretty close to a tele and adds a whole new level of versatility to the geetar :)

Sold my first guitar when it stopped working when all it needed was some solder. I have a Baja tele which is amazing. Also with a good size ding below the control plate. Maybe it’s the nut height? I started doing my own guitar work during the big C and that was easily the easiest thing to screw up/hardest thing to get right.
@jamesenter20952 сағат бұрын
My favorite is a jazzmaster that someone sold to me and said that despite multiple set ups it didn’t play correctly. I did a ton of work on it and it plays amazing now.
