This makes me want to do another H swap again. Had a Jdm H22a LSD transmission swapped into a 93 accord ex coupe. Full skunk2 exhaust set up, 2.5 inch all the way back welded 2.5 inch collector with electric cut out. Skunk2 intake manifold and it was port and polished, 70mil throttle body, full cai, Type S cams, balance shaft delete, race bearings, aggressive clutch setup. ACT 6puck no spring heavy duty pressure plate , 8.5lb fidanza aluminum flywheel. Revs fast. Explicit speed traction bar, upgraded type S prelude brakes on the front. Sk2 suspension all the way around. Drop 1.75 inch in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear. And it was tuned. Made 215 whp and 190ftq. Shit moved. Of and I forgot. Took out the 300 cc injectors and added 600 hundreds. Shit used to suck up gas. But when that vtec cracked after the tune. Geezus. Used to come in at 5500 dropped it to 3800. From there all the way to 8300rpm the car made power. With an 8800 redline. Shit was godly and stupid fast. For an all motor set up. Miss that car. Damn that’s a lot. Rant over lmao

At the end of the day, no matter how good, a sport sedan is still considered an oxymoron. But if you have a need to haul more than two people around on a regular basis they can make a lot of sense. When it comes to the majority of Honda's, practicality is at their core and in this regard the Accord Euro R is a star. The ITR shines for reasons of its own, while the CTR gets much attention for bringing the level of engagement it did at at a lower price point. At least initially - today's cars are just different beasts all together (I still prefer the older examples).
@Saetchel3 жыл бұрын
@@VirtualGuth true. In terms of styling however, every car nowadays have such a cookie cutter-like look to them. I wouldn’t mind the new integras measly 1.5L engine if the silhouette wasn’t so much like a TLX rebrand. But to be fair, the 4th gen prelude, 5th gen accord, euro r, and itr had very similar faces, but were distinct enough to tell what car was which. Maybe I’m wrong about these newer cars, and as time moves on, I’ll realize that. One can only dream for Honda to create a 2 door sport/type r again 🥲
@VirtualGuth3 жыл бұрын
@@Saetchel Comparing today's cars to those of a few decades ago is an apples to oranges type of thing. The reality is that today's automotive designers have to contend with far more regulations than those of the past (hence a lot of the cookie-cutter look that you refer to). Plus, people seemingly just don't buy coupe's any longer. Aside from the degraded looks, the electronics technology in today's cars has become far too invasive for me personally. As a result, older cars offer a much higher level of driver engagement. Look at today's cars offering auto rev-matching as an example. The physical act of pulling off proper rev matching, especially during heel-toe maneuvers, is one of the more rewarding aspects of driving. Who would want the car to do this? The improved performance and safety offered by today's cars is nice, but I'll take the increased driving engagement and better looks offered by the older cars. (Not to mention that pretty much every infotainment system in existence is going to appear pretty outdated in just a few years down the road.) My advice is to buy the cleanest, best-maintained example you can afford of whatever older Honda most appeals to you (doing so sooner rather than later). A few years back I bought a pristine, all original S2000. This year I bought an all original 7th gen 6-6 Accord coupe in excellent condition. These two compliment each other perfectly. Combined, they have fewer than 90K miles while costing me the same as a single 2022 Toyota GR 86 Limited as an example. I understand the draw of owning a new car - I've owned a couple of them in my lifetime, but I simply find the older cars to be much more appealing. (The last few generations of the CTR strike me as a design atrocity to put it mildly.) When it comes to the older Honda's (or older cars in general), there is a lot to be said for buying one of the few remaining examples out there that are still in great condition. Especially when they are built as well as Honda's are.
