Thanks for this. So informative. You have a great way of presenting your videos. 2 question. 1. Is there another name for red peas? 2. Can you do jerk chicken on an indoor grill? Thanks for everything 🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️💝

The algorithm brought me here….I have always wanted to cook JA rice and peas ….hubby is Jamaican and don’t like to cook .☹️☹️☹️ my in-laws do not measure anything so it’s very difficult to learn from them since there is no measurements. Thanks for this tutorial 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 . Now I can try and practice this before we get to Christmas family dinner and I will surprise my FAther in law and my children . They love their grandpa’s cooking . And since my hubby don’t want to learn to cook , he can eat salad and not touch my rice and peas . LOL I will be checking out what else you have on your channel. one of my favourites is escovitch fish …I fry a very good fish but the sauce isn’t quite there yet. Thank you again for a great video…lots of good tips !

If you have a back yard and alitte time try growing afew gungo plants, they are planted in June and are ready for harvesting around November until March! If you have excess gungo peel and put into plastic bags they freeze well! Paz y benictiones siempre = peace and blessings always🎉

We grow and dry beans at home. I use our Instapot pressure cooker on 60-90 minutes (depending on the size of beans) No presoaking needed . Flavorings are the same however sometimes I also add a little beef or chicken stock to enhance the flavor.

This is reminding me so much of my father's kitchen back when I was growing up. My parents are Haitian, but Haitian and Jamaican cooking is very similar, and I loved eating coconut rice and beans, as we called it. As an adult, I still make it to this day, just a little bit differently than yours, but still very close. Your version looks fantastic: definitely going to have to try it out.

This recipe is so good and easy to follow, thank you again my man. Made the rice and peas with some jerk salmon, to use up the rest of the marinade, and added some roasted brussels sprouts lightly drizzled with the jerk bbq sauce(still gotta learn some Jamaican veggie dishes) It made such a tasty and satisfying dinner. Having your recipes to follow has definitely made me feel more confident exploring Jamaican cuisine. Even managed to find scotch bonnets up in the Arctic! Such a fruity and tasty pepper; habaneros really don’t do justice, scotchies are something else. So thank you again for all of this, can’t wait to explore more.
