It’s funny how the difference in 0-100 between the mk2 and the mk3 is 0,2 seconds, and yet people say a mk2 is fast and the mk3 is so slow…

The mk3 with the 12v 2.8 vr6 and the more rarer 2.9 vr6 are much more powerful and make a world of a difference

That was my first ever car. I remember being 19 years old and driving it for the first time and remember being very unimpressed because it felt so slow and underwhelming. It wasn't slow, but it wasn't fast either.

I'm glad that you have addressed this sir. Please compare it side by side to the MK4 and MK5

Well, the whole video refers to the 8v and is very clear about it. The 16v is a completely different thing. Cheers!

Not valuable at all. Meanwhile in the German car market the cheapest is 10k euro 😀😀😀😀

Nah, you can find them for 3k in pretty good shape in Autoscout right now. I’m sure you’ll find them cheaper if you search a bit more

@@abriatus I'm talking about anniversary model.
@abriatus Жыл бұрын
@@ralicahristova2244 I’m talking about the 2.0 8v MK3 GTI in general in this video, not specifically the 20th anniversary. The anniversary edition sells for around 6k here in Spain, normal 8v GTIs for anywhere around 1.5-3k. In any case, not worth very much.

Drive a VR6 or at least a 16V

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!

Hi! Well, first of all thank you for commenting. Fortunately, I don't think the future, in the short term, looks so dire. California and NY State have only talked about banning new combustion cars from 2035 onwards with no talk on when or if older cars will be banned. If I recall the EU has the same guidelines. I'm currently living in Spain and, at least here, classics are allowed into all low emission zones (which are only Euro 4), restrictions are not set to tighten at least until 2030, but it all seems to indicate that classics will be exempt as it is what's currently written into the law. I don't doubt that the Green Peoples Party would love to impose some strong restrictions (they always do), but so long as new petrol cars are still being sold I don't think they will be banned on the roads any time soon. Cheers and hope you have a good day!

@@abriatus Great reply! And quite accurate. Classics/vintage will be exempted from strict fuel bans,…at least for many many years. It’s not dire, as you say.
