20:40 On that note, pandas aren't considered endangered anymore, only threatened, so captive breeding is not as important.

As someone that works in an AZA zoos I can confirm most of the money from tickect/food/merch sales is spread out to different conservation projects around the world. Lot of good work would go massively underfunded if not for accredited zoos The little that's not goes to paying the staff which is part of the reason zookeeper salaries are not the best, that and so they know people are actually working there for the animals and not just a paycheck. The basics of keeping everything else running amd the animals well is normally funded by the local city/state

Imagine orangutans trying to follow the same steps humans did but then we just stop them and be like, "Nah, we already did that." Then just hand them clothes and keys to a car. Then it cuts to an orangutan being miserable working in one of those cubicles office job 😂

12:44 I love how that lioness came over to help the cops subdue that male lion. She probably wants to be a cop if this zoo thing doesn't pan out. XD

Well there is one panda that doesn't belong to China. Xin Xin belongs to Mexico. Unfortunately she may be the last of her kind however (in Mexico that is)

A lot of reasons why people would dye a dog isn't to make it look "cool or appealing" If its a service animal, and it gets stolen, say its a lab. A normal lab is going to be very hard to not only spot, but to differentiate from others. So one service animal I saw, her owner had dyed only the tail in rainbow colors. That didn't bother the dog at all and it made it very obviously her service animal.

29:45 Also they probably keep a lot of people from going to see them in the wild; the national parks have more than enough idiots littering or taking selfies with bears

As a janitor, I can say that it does feel like a lot of people don't respect us. One of the places I worked, it definitely felt like the other departments didn't think we deserved respect at all.

I remember casual geographic's original zoo videos. And he said something like the worst animals that zookeepers attend to are outside the cage and have a phone and a sense of entitlement. EDIT: I hear a bunch of nate's wrestling stories in other videos. But dang it is surreal seeing him take a clothesline bump.

The Knoxville zoo has a sloth exhibit if I remember correctly it is near where they have a mini train ride and I also suggest the Nashville zoo you can find a sloth in their walk in aviary which is attach to their reptile house just be prepared to crane your neck because it is very well camouflaged but if you find a mass of fur that’s the sloth I had to do a double check the first time I saw it

Hey Nate, At least you didn't get the same experience as Tenya did in MHA when Mineta fell in the hot springs during training. I'm sure you know the part I'm talking about. XD Also that dog is a Tibetan mastiff and are one of the oldest dog breeds. Fun fact: they are actually what "lion-dog" statues are based off of.

If you're talking about the leasing then no, it's not a US problem, a lot of countries with resident pandas have to pay the leases.
