The new cars use R1234yf. It's so expensive it's billed by the ounce. About $10 an ounce. The machine for R1234yf cost about $10,000. Wow Craig. What a crap show! Damn red tape. If you had sold it to someone in Kentucky, it would've been a breeze. We don't have inspections. If it's coming from out of state, we have to get it "inspected". That inspection is comprised of verifying mileage and making sure the windshield isn't cracked. That's it!!! I had my 1970 Super Bee with no engine, no fenders, and the 4-speed trans in the trunk inspected with no hiccups. Glad ya finally was able to move forward with the sale. Looking forward to your next video.

Craig.. you either can continue to low ball problems vehicles ,and make revenue from YT ,Or just buy more quality units... But quit acting like you are surprised about all of these problems..In the time you spent on this Jeep you could have sold 5 vehicles ,and made 5 happy customers... If i was a retail buying customer I would be scared $hitless to buy a car from you... Not because you aren't a great guy ,but you buy some absolute pieces of trash ,and polish them up (with just a dirty wool mit) mind you...
@jaytpaul2 жыл бұрын
those fenders were clearly painted aftermarket when the original owner had that grill painted, no doubt. The fact that someone wouldnt go for the factory painted fenders, but WOULD pay for the paint on the fenders aftermarket (and that grill) would have made me suspicious that it was a coverup. Not to mention, a brand new jeep being up for auction (versus selling at a dealership on the lot), would make me even more suspicious. A mainstream, notoriously high-reselling new vehicle has no reason to go to auction without needing to benefit from covering up an unknown variable like this... someone didnt wanna deal with it!

I'd rather have that army jeep at 8:50 than any jeep currently on the market including that monster hemi that omaze is giving away. Other than a volkswagon "thing" it doesn't get any better than that.
@sejembalm3 жыл бұрын
It doesn't get any cruder than than, either. But that's part of the charm: an ultra-stripped-down no-frills military utility car. I had a 1973 VW Thing and it was ...just fun. Windows were clip-on frames with plexiglass, not roll-down. Front windshield folded down over hood (handy when someone stole my windshield wiper motor, wipers and gasoline-powered heater). Plus, it was a fun convertible for $500, back in 1988 or so. A friend picked up four Vietnam War-era Jeeps unassembled in crates at a closed-down army base in the late 1980s (for $50 each?!?), and assembled one to ride, one to sell and two for spare parts. His daily driver Jeep had to be modified a bit for civilian use I believe, but it was nice, although a scary ride where it felt like it would roll on the slightest provocation.
@muskokamike1273 жыл бұрын
@@sejembalm damn right! A buddy had a "thing" and it was literally a death trap and the most fun ride you can have with your clothes on. You climb in and can't help but grin like a fool. 4 of us would pile in on a saturday night and go cruise the strip. That's the charm of the jeep too. Not to mention that it can go just about anywhere and never get stuck. Light with skinny tires? Freeze your ass in the winter but you'd never get stuck. That was a deal and a half on those crated jeeps. You're not the first I've heard of getting deals like that. In the 60's it was quite common for surplus sales to go on and listings in the paper(s). There were more than a few army surplus stores around my area in Toronto and that was back when they literally WERE surplus stores. Had all kind of stuff. Last time I was in though they'd turned into another "outfitter" store. I seem to recall when I was 12 they had cases of M1 Garands. Worth a fortune now but back then, no one really wanted them.
