The XR GT Turbo (XRT) is S1 content now, but back in the day it used to be one of the demo cars. Its baby sister the XR GT (XRG) is demo content. LFS is still a great simulator, and you gave a nice summary of why.

I still think the way the tail 'wags' in an LFS tankslapper looks more natural than other sims. Apart from BeamNG the others still look like they're rotating about the middle to me. But I could never get over the synthetic engine sounds from the far end of a tunnel. And the difference between LFS' "new" (lol) physical tyre model and iRacings'? - When LFS' didn't work, they didn't release it!

LFS had the best physics back in the old days, and still has the best mirrors implementation in VR (stereoscopic mirror rendering, not just a flat render like every other sim). The worst thing about LFS for me is the sounds and the online racing... they are all drift, cruise or blackwood haha... but still enjoy racing on it in 2020

@SimracingPopometer3 жыл бұрын
hey mate! people book coaching sessions with me, many of them allow me to record how I am analyzing their lap and where they can gain the time. So what you see is their mistakes and how I try to make them understand where their issues come from. Apart from that, when theres a lack of coaching I'll try to find the time to make extended track guides - the last one took me an hour to go through the details. Give it a try for one month and then rage at me if its garbage :D

@ped7g3 жыл бұрын
there are still several leagues going on, if you are serious about it, and there's always some demo-crash-fest on public servers (actually quite some demo servers provide decent hop-on short-race experience, but expect some users being completely new to sim racing, and some users just wanting to ruin it for everyone else because they themselves have sorry pointless life). But there's not as much non-scheduled racing on licensed servers (there's still some going on, and also in peak hours joining some well known public server even if it is empty can lure other racer within couple of minutes, just being the first one is usually the least popular thing to do). It's not dead as in "no racing at all", but the devs having clear vision about how they operate and what is their goal - not very compatible with modern way of game consuming - made it a bit obscure choice today. Then again, if you are iRenting, you can buy for fraction of that life-time S3 license for LFS, and use it any time you wish in following years. (there's also major rewrite of 3D engine and revamp of all tracks incoming in following... year ... years? .. hard to estimate it, first estimates were 2018 ... ;) ...., but many other developers would call it "LFS2" and release under full price, while so far it looks they will release it just as patch, and your current LFS license will be still valid... so "for free" for current LFS owners)

When setting up a car for a baseline setup, is their a certain order to change things in ? I.e do you start with gears first, then tyre pressure , the toe in etc
@TheTheaterdreamer3 жыл бұрын
Basic pressures and brake bias (I say basic because you'll still need to fine tune it later), suspension, arbs and dampers, toes, cambers, back to pressures, diffs, aero and finally pressures and brakes again. That's how I do it anyway.
@dragon1219783 жыл бұрын
@@TheTheaterdreamer great Thankyou , is their a easy how to guide for each one of those So how to tune each one
@SimracingPopometer3 жыл бұрын
in the end there is no easy with racing simulations. everything is intertwined, you cant look at these things isolated. you just have to accept that there's a longer road ahead to get an idea. for ACC: the dominating factor is downforce and aero balance (you have to think of that as a very dynamic thing that changes in every corner, every braking zone, over every bump) - having the right balance at the right time is where most of the laptime gain over the aggressive preset comes from. the rest is not neglectable, but marginal compared to the overall aero balance *imo
