Trip the Sungazer is, in my view, The most underrated things about Sonic Superstars! Her character, backstory, Super form (A golden dragon!) and budding friendship with Amy Rose all make for some very interesting possibilities for the Sonic the Hedgehog series going forward! Trip adventuring with Amy? Trip treasure hunting with Knuckles? The potential stories are endless. And it really helps put to rest the old "Sonic's stupid friends" narrative.
The Sonic series is packed full of deep and interesting characters, and it was an absolute pleasure to deep dive into the character of Trip. I wasn't expecting the level of depth that she got, both in character and backstory. So let's get after it, and discuss!

@@AceCardGaming Yes that's true. Sadly I can't get the game so I watched a playthrough, but when I saw her meeting Amy, I was like "Aww...", and same when she blushed and put her helmet back on with a smile in the ending cutscene. We need more Knuckles and Trip interactions too.

In five years of being a Sonic fan, I've had a hard time answering the question of who my favorite Sonic character is, but I think Trip has a chance of being exactly that. At the very least, I can't wait to see more of her.

If I recall correctly sonic team and Flynn have confirmed that superstars is after the classic games but before adventure so it’ll be interesting to see how they explain her absence in the modern timeline

It could just be that they haven't run into her in Modern Sonic yet. Remember that backstories aren't necessarily consistent between Classic and Modern timelines, because they are technically two separate universes. Things may be possible in Modern that are not possible in Classic.

I really love Trip. She has a great story arc, and I'd love to see her modern design as well. I've seen fan art of it, but I want SEGA to expand on it. Maybe even have her interact with Knuckles since her backstory is akin to his.

Trip instantly became a fave of mine. Back in my tot days I had a sonic charcter that wa a fox/wolf that super form was a silver dragon. Later in life I made them a character for DnD as a silver dragon in a beast person glamour to assist good hearted people. Trip feels like that character relized to me. And i hope she get folded wholesale into Somic universe.

I sort of would like to see her interact with the Chaotix, Trip learns Fang is up to no good again and wants to stop him while running into them because Vector wants to capture Fang for the reward money. I think she and Espio in particular would work very well together.

Just like with Mighty and Ray, I really want to see a Modern version of Trip and Fang, i always love when classic characters transition over into the modern timeline of a game series. And you're right, it'll be interesting seeing just how Sonic Team will bring her over to the modern games. Fang is his snarky and clever self in this game, I wonder what a modern version of him would be like?

Fang would be amazing in the modern timeline. He was so expressive in Superstars and that was with zero voice acting. I’d say if they nail their choice in VA, he’d be a top tier villain.

She's pretty much Knuckles without what makes him, him. In a way, I'm happy Trip exists because she made me realize how KNUCKLES is incredible and how I've been downplaying him for the longest time. When I see her, I see how Knuckles could've have been. They both have kindness and sense of duty, but also loneliness [with no other humanized animal to hang with] and burdened at staying where their ancestors lived. But Knuckles was stronger in these times. He had to do what he had to do even without friends because he couldn't be weak for the sake of everything he knew. Trip even cares about making friends when we met her, while Knuckles didn't give af about friends and was chill with being on his own. [in the classic game not movie, He didn't want Eggman's friendship or was open to it, he just immediately trusted him because Eggman made it believable Sonic was the bad guy and not him. I doubt he cared at all about his "friendly" connection with Eggman before his betrayal] He's everything Trip is, but better.😂 I'm not throwing shade at her because I really do like her, but being 'cuter' isn't gonna put her higher than Knuckles for me. But I thank you for helping me see Knux in a better light, Trip the Sungazer😊

I'm going to say this. I hope the end credit scene of frontiers gives us 4 new games, a girls game where Amy solidifies herself and she goes on a "roadtrip" with her gal-pals (maybe including trip?). A tails game, where we get to see our favorite boy grow again (sa1 & sa2 we're great), a knuckles game bringing forward some peace and closure from frontiers, and 1 where they all meet again as a sequel to frontiers.

I do hope that Trip can eventually appear in the modern timeline, and maybe if she does well, it could allow other classic characters who have been stuck in that timeline to come over and get modern designs. But even if Trip is the only classic character to get a modern design, I'll be fine. The modern characters have already mentioned Mighty and Ray in TailsTube, so at least they exist. It'd also be neat to have a conversation between her and Blaze, as they're both guardians that share a connection with Amy, just like Knuckles. I'm glad that so many people are enjoying the new characters added into the new games as of lately. Before Frontiers, we got the Avatar from Forces and Dodon Pa from TSR, both just kinda mediocre characters (though I did kinda like the Avatar). But now, characters like Sage and Trip are already becoming fan favorites, and I like them a lot too. Can't wait to see them more in the future, and I'm definitely wondering how the new character in Dream Team will resonate with fans. Also, it Trip does get moved over to the modern timeline, would her super form get an update too? Could be pretty cool to maybe see a more grown up version of her super form. At least after we get modern super forms for Amy, Knuckles, and Tails. Please Sonic Team.

Honestly I feel like the two timeline thing is less convoluted. Timeline wise if they keep doing classic games and just shoving them somewhere between it’s going to get confusing. If they just continued the classic timeline as there own it would of been easier

@@ROT695 Just because something is easier doesn't make it good, nor is being convoluted automatically bad. It robs Sonic and co. of any character development, cast of returning characters and weakens Sonic's core differentiation from Mario, its continuity. Running from this to please Mario and Sonic fans is what caused what many consider to be a true dark age the Meta Era. Classic is already separated by a time skip, there isn't really much confusion to be had in relation to the Modern Era and the Future Era. (where Silver is from) Even if it was its own timeline with enough games it was going to become convoluted regardless just because Sonic is a long runner.

If you want to be that specific than its 6 worlds. Earth, Little Planet, Sol Dimension, Lost Hex, Planet Wisp and Planet Donpa Kingdom

SEGA themselves have confirmed that the Mobian cultures are found on the frontiers, while the humans all live in more concentrated areas. But yes, there are indeed six worlds, and they are the ones that you listed, plus one additional one: Special Space/Timeless Space/Null Space. You know, the dimension that the Chaos Emeralds hid themselves away in during the Classic Era.

I feel like Trip's a great character with an extremely scuffed introduction. Like, considering that the main sourse of anything related to her is a mural, that shows up for two times is a bit weird. The game doesn't even focus on it or anything: it just appears as a background element. And that makes later game stuff extremely out-of-nowhere to ost of people. Plus, i find the extra game mode a bit disappointing. Like, for a game mode, which focuses on the brand new character, you'd expect to learn a bit about her past, maybe see some interactions with previously seen foes, concidering her character development. Yet, the only unique moment we get here is the final boss. Hope we get to see her in a newer games.
