"Lord Love a Duck", one of the best movies ever ! I'm a big Tuesday Weld fan. Seeing her in "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" is good and even Warren Beatty is iit. The latest movie I saw her in was Sergio Leone's, "Once Upon a Time in America". "Lord Love a Duck" is it, with a great score by Neil "Batman" Hefti.

Even though I saw many of the movies mentioned, I only remember her in THE FIVE PENNIES, some teeny-bopper R&R film, PRETTY POISON, and a television movie, THE WAR BETWEEN MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS. I always thought her an "American Beauty" and primarily remembered her in PRETTY POISON. She was sublime and superb in the role she played opposite Anthony Perkins. Say la vie; que sera sera.
@fredbloggs6080

She made a second film with Anthony Perkins, in 1972, Play it As it Lays. I vaguely remember it from when I saw it in the theater; she was the companion of Perkins who was suicidal if I recall, and it took place in the desert. I remember it being sort of boring and Tuesday looked more weathered than in the 60s. She also made two films with Steve McQueen, The Cincinnati Kid, and Soldier in the Rain, costarring Jackie Gleeson also.

Hollywood always looked at her (as they do all actors) as an ATM machine. For this young girl, her beauty was a curse. Everyone who encountered her wanted to use her in one way or another. Who knows what she could have become with a decent upbringing and without Hollywood. The way Hollywood treated child actors i years past was immoral and unethical. Thank God it would now be illegal.

She has bamboozled everybody. The teenage Ms. Weld was over the top intelligent, managing her life and career as a master mariner handles a ship. Her ability to become the characters she portrayed is rarely equaled. She's best characterized as crafty. Being pretty was requisite in her profession, but making it work is an art form which she perfected.

I disagree that she didn't know better than to pick decent parts....She knew herself and who she was. A truly stunning woman inside and out who stayed true to herself. She had a mesmerizing beauty but it was her deeper, multi-layered personality I was attracted to. She reminded me of Jessica Lange in ways which was ironic, about that film offer. ('The Postman Always Rings Twice'). Also, Bonnie and Clyde which I felt she would have been brilliant in. I feel she was an iconic star....and love how she lived life by her own term. Hollywood was too shallow for her. I GET that. A kindred soul....

Pretty biased editorial, she would probably disagree with a number of things you said. She was rich and had a large inheritance at 18 so she was independently wealthy. She made mistakes that she admitted to, especially ones that she regretted with her first husband. She is still alive so just ask her. Don't make her out to be a victim, everyone has problems.

apparently you and the other viewers missed something about this lady, she had a very long and rewarding career, movies from 1956 until 2001, and in every decade from start to finish, very lucrative films, tv from 1959 until 1990 in many series and tv movies, she won the golden globe award in 1960 for most promising new female actress, she was nominated for golden globe in 1972, nominated for academy award for looking for mr goodbar, for an emmy in 1983, and BAFTA in 1984 for once upon a time in America. she was married to dudly moore after she divorced her first husband then married a third time to a concert violinist and conductor. not sure where all you movie and tv fans were during her career but you could hardly turn on the tv without seeing her in something for years. sure seems like all one has to do is post a stinking video they have no clue to who they are talking about and all of a sudden dozens of comments of people agreeing with them. i think lots of actors and actresses would love to have had a career such as hers.

I agree with the vlogger here. Every film I have seen with her in it has been garbage. Lately it was "Who'll stop the rain", which repeated that song over and over, such a genius mechanism! Sarcasm intended. It was like roadkill you had to sit through, featuring a much younger and more hostile agile and mobile Nick Nolte, who had not refined that rusty grumpy slow-moving angry old white man persona yet. She was just a face with no talent, and a skinnier version of Marylin, which works great for my generation raised on petite ladies. But back then, it wasn't enough, and we had already had Lauren Bacall and Hayworth, soon to get Grace Kelly and Hepburn. Thanks.

@@BrisLS1 You really don't know what you're talking, about especially your chronology regarding Grace Kelly and Hepburn (whether Katherine or Audrey).
