I shoot parties in confined places so wide is the most practical. I used to use a 17-35 and took 95% of my pictures at 17mm but the distortion required tweaking in post. Then got a 20mm prime and it’s working just fine for me (and way less ratty) plus it’s way lighter than the zoom.

Of all things for content creators, autofocus + wide angle was kind of the most unnecessary thing. If I’m that close to the camera, I don’t really need autofocus because I can actually reach the lens. Now throw on that 85mm and good autofocus is an absolute necessity unless your arms are 20ft long. Surprised with the rise of incredible autofocus, the wide angle look has still maintained its KZbin prominence. We need more 300mm vlogs.

People misuse wideangle lenses to cheat on the photographic process. As the wide angle lens gets almost everything in the frame, there is no need to compose the shot or make any decisions on framing. The one use case I would support is vlogging because anything else is just unworkable.
@annor57259 ай бұрын
I think because there is more in a wide angle shot it‘s even harder to compose.
@audioupgrades9 ай бұрын
@@annor5725 Nope. Composing is deciding what should be in the frame and what should be outside. With a wide angle lens, everything is in the frame so there is no choice, no decision and no photography.
@saifaldin_9 ай бұрын
@@audioupgradesExactly why good wide angle compositions are few and far between.. It’s so easy to fall into mediocrity with wide angle, causing those who are experienced and value their craft to simply not take the shot instead. Lenses with longer focal lengths are easier to work with, precisely because one has more leeway in terms of composition. And since more people use them, they too tend to easily fall into mediocrity.

All focal lengths have a place. These are tools. You use them effectively. Wide angle is actually good for adding stuff to your scene in post such as overlays, links, etc. so you're not covering your face. As he stroked my legs and then he grabbed me thigh with a stern look on his face as he stared into my soul.

Nikon has solidified its position as the undisputed frontrunner in the wide angle lens market, especially with their outstanding Nikon large format wide angle SW lenses. Furthermore, Nikon provides a wide range of outstanding wide angle medium format lenses, such as the Plaubel Makina W67. Furthermore, Nikon has firmly established its position as a frontrunner in the wide angle category for 35mm cameras. Nikon's wide angle and various format capabilities are unmatched, giving them a significant edge over other brands. This is due to Nikon's unique approach of designing and building everything optically in-house, a practice that sets them apart in the photography industry.

Wide angles that people accept over time changes. Long ago, the 50mm was king. Then 35mm became popular (Julia Trotti's favorite). But today's generation is used to cell phones, which are effectively about 28mm FF equivalent. Even wider angles seem fairly normal unless the subject is too close to the lens. So wide lenses are fine if used in a way that doesn't produce goofy stretching. Even goofy stretching can be fun if used occasionally. But like anything else, we can get bored of it. The most glamorous look is from longer lenses (85mm to 200mm) but those are hard to use for things besides talking heads. Max Headroom days are in the rear view mirror now, for an entire production. So I guess there's a time and a place for everything. That's why they sell both long and short lenses.

But without a wide angle lens, you can't showcase your obligatory musical instrument collection. Here's something I'd like you to investigate. Do music-based KZbin content creators have photography gear as props on their videos? I haven't seen any. I've never seen Rick Beato with a Polaroid on a tripod sitting behind him. But I see all kinds of photography channels that have flutaphones and sh*t, showing the multi-faceted talents of the content creators. There seems to be a lack of reciprocity from the music channels. I want to see Brownies and those 110 film cartridge cameras and rickety old wooden tripods adorning the home studios of the music content creators. I'm just sayin'... They could help a brother out. Show some love for the photogs.
