The 0.71X Canon EF-EOS R adapter made for the C70 works perfectly well on the crop sensor Canons. I use it to convert my 16-35 F4, 24-105 F4, and 100-400 F4.5-5.6 into 18-40 2.8, 27-119 2.8, and a 114-454 F3.5-4.8. Then if I need more reach, I can just pop off the adapter to get the 1.6 factor. It, oddly, even bypasses the crop factor on my EF-converted 10-18 and turns it into an 11-20 (actual FF focal range) 3.5-4.8. So, I've got full frame equivalent coverage of 11mm all the way up to 560mm, in comparatively bright coverage. Then, both on the 1.4x TC and suddently the long end goes to 896mm. I also have the 35mm IS USM F2, which becomes a 40mm F1.4 with the reducer :)

A lantern is not the best solution as keylight because you don't have much control over your background exposure. Better use a softbox (with grid if necessary) for the keylight, that will control the lightspill and then you can use your lantern for the overall room exposure on a second light.
@cameraconspiracies7 ай бұрын
Yes, but lantern is better for the face. You gotta decide between nice face and nice background :)
@hanshart14137 ай бұрын
@@cameraconspiracies I disagree, if that would be true then a lantern would used commonly in portrait photography. Size, positioning, distance and fill are more important to make the face look better. For your room size I would get something like a 90cm circular softbox or even a cheap octabox. The distance from your face should be around the size of the modifier so around 90cm. You can arrange it in a classic rembrandt (more drama) or butterfly (prettier face) position. Then just fill the shadows side (the dark side of your face for rembrand or from underneath your face for butterfly) in with a reflector or second light (if you want to be extra fancy). Play around with that until you get it right and you will get your teenage skin back ;)
@Bill-NM7 ай бұрын
@@hanshart1413what is "butterfly"? Thanks...
@lecolintube7 ай бұрын
@@Bill-NMIt’s a lighting technique where the key light is placed directly in front and above the sitter/talent. It creates a shadow directly under the sitters chin, lips, bottom of the nose and under the cheekbones. (I believe it’s called butterfly 🦋 because it’s symmetrical, *my take is that the bridge of the nose acts a little like the butterfly’s body, and the chin to the upper part of the cheek bones, which are highlighted symmetrically ‘being a little like the butterflies wings - though most explanations I’ve heard on this is just because of the shape of the shadow it casts under the nose is like a small butterfly 😉). Either way the light falls evenly on both sides of the face, with the shadow of the nose nestling directly below the nose on the upper lip. It’s also known as ‘paramount’ lighting, and ‘glamour’ lighting. And it differs from loop lighting and Rembrandt lighting where the shadows fall more across the face or asymmetrically across the face with the nose shadow towards or across one of the cheeks. There’s lots of examples out there to see what it looks like if you do a quick search for butterfly lighting 🦋 Hope that helps 🧡

For Fuji I'd also suggest you check out the Zeiss Touit 32mm f1.8 (compared to the Fuji 35mm f1.4). The fuji has an aperture advantage, but the zeiss has less elements, is quieter (hard to believe but it is), is a little wider and much pricier, little heavier too. In terms of contrast the Touit has a slight advantage. Compared to the other Touits for Fuji it is the only one with a low elements count and a great optical formula, the 12mm and 50mm kinda suck :'D

You perfectly showed all fatal flaws of Fuji and why I ditched them for video. This jerky / jumpy IBIS looks horrible and AF does is standard thing of searching objects in the background. Canon R8 with OIS lens is definitely better than this.

But which sIgMa camera would you choose? 😵💫

It’s actually pronounced knee-con with the n at the end half swallowed. So all the nigh vs ni is hilarious

G9ii for sure. Pannnie Leica firmware updates are regular and powerful, feature packed bodies, built like little tanks, Panasonic, the new cult classic without Sony/Nikon arrogance, great customer response, bye bye Fuji, tired of expensive Sony bodies with no firmware updates, Nikon...too little too late too expensive. Welcome to the MFT lover Dark Side. If you disagree I'm sending the Vegetable Police to pick you up and take you to 999 Queens St. West! ❤😂
