Hey , so the video got slapped with a age-restriction for (I presume) the 5 second clip of taekwondo...??? KZbin doesn't promote age-restricted videos basically at all (minute-by-minute views dropped 90% 💀), so please share this around if you can ♥♥ But yeah, that's why there's a huge blurred screen for a few seconds in the middle of the video.

What I find incredibly well done is how the roles of both Reiner and Eren reverse in season 4 when they fight. Here Eren's the one at a huge disadvantage because: A.) He was caught off guard by both Reiner and Bert's betrayls B.) He was relatively inexperienced in Titan VS Titan combat C.) He ended up losing We're basically rooting for Eren with everything we got But in S4 there's the roles of Reiner and Eren are fully reversed: A.) Reiner is caught off guard by the Scout's invasion of Marley B.) Reiner, although experienced, had lost the will to move forward, and his lack of will made him (In my opinion) weaker mentally during fights C.) Reiner ended up losing the battle in Marley So if we're still rooting for Eren's actions at this point, Isayama is basically pointing out at how we're, in essence, rooting for the same type of character we used to hate in S2 (S2 Reiner), only now he's the main character that we love and have followed for years, which makes Eren's betrayl of morals all the more painful to see unfold. Like I'd never have imagined in S2 that I'd be struggling to pick a side to root for in S4. The Eren VS Reiner fight was just me praying that neither died. The fact that this stood out for me just from the fights between Reiner and Eren shows how phenomenally Isayama and the directors are.
@dawdeuce250 Жыл бұрын
On the surface I can see that argument making sense. However look deeper and there's an obvious reason most everyone was/is still on Erens side in season 4. Reiner/Marley attacked paradise unprovoked wereas Erens attack is to prevent the anticipated retaliation of Marley after there failed mission with the warriors.
@MrMic_Makanaki Жыл бұрын
What are you waffling about fam. Marley attacking Paradis is like the US attacking Present day Germany for the crimes of the Reich during the second world war, just because they fear they may be n.a.z.i.s amongst them. If you were in such a situation, you wouldn't rationalize the attack on you and your people. The people of Marley wouldn't have stopped at anything, until the eldian empire was completely wiped out. Eren saw all this during his stay in Marley. His hand was forced by the marleyans. And in the end he created a long lasting peace for the people he cared about the most

23:45 My interpretation of Annie vs. Mikasa flashback is that Annie's technique secured her victory, which shocked everyone as we are shown. The reason Eren thought about it was because it gave him the hope that he could rely on technique to overcome Reiners' overwhelming power. As for why it's a cliffhanger, I'm not sure. Perhaps Eren just didn't have time to think about the whole flashback, or maybe he doesn't like to think about Mikasa losing.
@ihsahnakerfeldt928011 ай бұрын
I think the implication is that he was overcome by someone who was physically much weaker in terms of raw power (due to gender difference). I refuse to believe humanity's second strongest person lost to Annie. We're talking about an Ackermann here, a titan in human form.

I had a theory about the flashback, after watching season 4 "Memories of the future". Right after seeing the flashback, Eren tells himself, "Why I am remembering this now?" As if he was really on Rage mode and "someone" else made him remember a way to beat Reiner. My theory is that his Future self, sent memories of Annie's grappling techniques in order to "beat" Reiner, (in reality leading himself to be captured and revealing himself as the Coordinate/Founding titan in S2E12 "Scream".

Honestly, I would have preferred if titan regeneration looked more like their bones and flesh were being made out of sand instead of "bifrost." Since we see Ymir in her dimension building the tians out of sand and water, it would be cool foreshadowing to suggest it's Ymir rebuilding her creations.

I've always thought that *insta-materialize* and *insta-vanish* were built Colossal Titan powers. These powers would be especially beneficial for the Colossal specifically, and we never really see these with any other Titans. We see so few other instances of the Colossal besides Bertholdt, who was said to be particularly proficient with this Titan, so we don't have a whole lot of data.

I'm looking forward to your eventual analysis of the scene with Grisha and Kruger atop the walls on Paradis. I haven't yet found anyone else that has noticed this, but there's a brief flashback in that episode to Eren sitting atop the walls talking to Kruger (this is presumably where Kruger learns of Armin and Mikasa). Of course, when initially watching the show, there's no way you'd understand it, and it would probably go completely unnoticed since it only appears for a couple frames, but it blatantly shows one of the biggest twists in the show, which would only come to light years later in episode 79.

finally ive always wanted a bit more recognition for Mikasa's reflection about Reiner and Berthold. She's never been given too many moments with other characters that show her humanity. She has a few comedic moments with the girls and then it's just "i don't care about anyone else but Eren", like how she even threatens Historia and Ymir later. Albeit that was after this occurrence. Regardless, those expressions of the two cut way deeper than her blades did. The looks of terror and fear of her once-comrades. It humanizes them but also Mikasa, because for all her tough talk she still cared.
@wuhhlfarg5578 Жыл бұрын
That's the one thing we're i believe his analysis is dead wrong Mikasa tried to behead both of them but couldn't because both sacrificed their arms to stop the lethal attack And Mikasa later is dead focused on killing them I that moment Mikasa didn't care about them and was only focused on killing them She even tried to finish bertholdt off once he was on the ground

One thing I wanna point out that no one talks about. Reiner just had a mental breakdown. Given that, there is no chance he’s fighting at 100% right now due to his mental state. He was almost certainly holding back during this fight due to guilt and not wanting to hurt someone he so recently was friends with. This can be proven by comparing this fight with their Round 2 fight in Shinganshina. Despite Eren learning how to harden his fists, he still fights evenly against a “healthy” Reiner in this fight. Compared to Round 1, Eren actually has the upper hand against Reiner even without his hardening.

Just one thing about "Lost Girls" and by that extend about "No Regrets": While they were not written by Isayama, they are approved by him and are more or less confirmed by him to be canon We see in the Manga not only Isabel and Furlan appear in one of the "The dead Soldiers looking to us"-Scene (when Levi learns in the Fortress that Eren betrayed them, while he was watching over Zeke) and the scene, where Erwin convinces Levi to join him fully, is also briefly redrawn by Isayama during Erwins reflection-scene in the "Return to Shiganshina"-Arc Also, we first learn that Annie broke the leg of her father during Lost Girls, which was later confirmed by Mr Leonhardts first appearance and by Annie talking to Hitch.

The allusion to Ragnarok and the destruction of the Bilröst therein by ‘fire giants’ was such a good catch. I really do wish you would stop apologizing for overanalyzing though man. It’s literally the name of the series, but you spend an inordinate amount of time saying ‘I admit that that might be a stretch’ or something of the like every video. Like, either commit to the analysis or don’t. If you think it shouldn’t have been in the video, don’t make the point. You can edit your scripts! Still, I generally appreciate this series.
