Yes!! Thanks for bringing your podcast KZbin 😍 I am for sure an over thinker myself and loved helping people by giving them my advice. Until I seemed to push everyone away doing it. Still have to stop myself and just love and support people without my two cents!

I need to learn to say, “No” instead of automatically saying, “Yes” automatically, even when I don’t want to. I have a friend who is running late 3/5 school days and always EXPECTS me to get her children. We have our own children + foster kiddos and it drives me insane. She depends on me to get them, because she’s always running late and for some reason, I always say Yes, when I’m honestly sick of her depending on me. 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

I would spend every one of my days off taking one of my sisters' shopping she would over stuff my car and some time call me out of the blue to take her somewhere she knew for months or weeks she had to go and expect me to drop what ever I was doing I finally had to tell her you need to give me at least two days day notice or make other arrangements it worked like a charm after that everyone knows do not ask me to do anything without enough notice however one of my other sister has not learned to say no

Long time watcher over here (like I’m talking pre-pregnancy long time) I’ve just really never been a commenter! I just wanted you to know I’m so so grateful you started this series. I feel like it will be just what I need at this point in time! You’re such an inspiration, Katie! You and Cullen both. I’m very recently married and y’all’s marriage is seriously one I look up to. Your determination to get through anything TOGETHER is so amazing. Love you guys. 😘❤️

Hi Katie, I just started going to celebrate recovery for the hurts of my recent divorce and my spouses infidelity and more. I wondered if you and/or Cullen have tried Celebrate Recovery. It seems pretty good so far and it is so good to be around others dealing with similar situations and where you can feel free to share with no judgement. Your channel has helped me a lot. This is so timely as I wonder if I suffer from codependency too. My whole world fell apart as you came out with Cullen's addictions too. PS I am also incorporating some Dave Ramsey in my new life being single too. I am praying for your family.

We have not been to it, but have heard good things about it! It sounds like things have been extremely tough for you over the past year. But I'm so glad you're finding outlets for working on yourself and your mental/emotional health!

OMG, I was listening to this out of curiosity and realized.... "that's totally me!"🙀. This has hit home pritty hard. I never knew that it was wrong. Although, I could tell that some people would get annoyed and stop talking to me. I just never knew why specifically.

💕 I didn’t realize it was harmful either. It’s very eye opening when you start to notice it in yourself and others!

This is wonderful! Eye opening for me! I didn’t even realize I was a co-dependent person. I mean, I knew that people tend to take advantage of my niceness a lot. I also have the need and desire to help everyone and be that source of knowledge base for so many people due to my profession (I’m a nurse). However, I never made the connection that it was probably more or less unhealthy until I was listening to this, and was like, “She is describing me with those 10 signs!” I definitely need to say, “No” more often, and realize I can’t save everyone in their moment of crisis. That being said, I do want to help those where I can. I just need to set boundaries! That, and I have a toxic person in my life (a family member) that loves to blame her poor decisions on everyone else but herself. She turns to me a lot to rescue her. Because I feel I have to help everyone, I continue to let her be a toxic source in my life. I mean, seriously eye opening stuff here! I’m looking forward to hearing more! Thank you for sharing! ❤️

I needed this podcast so desperately! I’m currently trying to set boundaries with my mom - the rescuer with unsolicited advice. It’s causing turmoil inside of me because I am an over-thinker and over-researcher so I know what’s best for me and my family and things she says/disapproval makes me question all what I know. Which really causes some crazy inner turmoil for me. This really shed some light on why it’s so stressful for me when my mom tells me I should save money and buy diapers I know don’t work for my kids when I can afford the better diapers. It’s things like that constantly! Thanks for sharing.

Thank You Katie! Ive been having a hard time with this one. Its like, I KNOW I'm doing the right thing when it comes to letting my kids learn and feel those emotions when they make poor choices but ITS SO HARD to not feel like a monster sometimes when I'm being judged by others when I don't just give in and "fix" the problem. I'm the "mean mom". But my kids think I'm the greatest. I explain to my kids why I'm not bailing them out of their situation (they are 10 and 8) and they understand and LEARN from it. It's the parent shaming that gets me.
