Origin is laying down the roadmap and showing other businesses and future entrepreneurs, that made in America is not only possible, but encouraged, needed, and profitable. The sense of pride from the people that make the products, all the way to the consumer is indescribable. The resurgence is here.

When I was 15 years old, I had a job at WW Sly in Mathiston, MS tying rubber bands together and then tying each of them onto the corners of a metal frame that another highschooler who was maybe 18 yrs old had stamped out. Back then, we were glad to earn money on summer break. That way we were able to take our dates to movies, buy cars, etc. Everyone back then worked! Before I was able to work in a factory, me and my brothers cut yards.

Yes, Elmer Fudd. I've been working since 13 and may not see the social security and taxes I put into corporate and global growth. In the late 70s my grandmother was a distributor at Robert Hall. A clothing retailer, like a small scale Macy's. She taught me to do distribution at 13. estimating sales in a long ledger book, using the last 3 years sales for each state, averaging that and estimating weather from an almanac. When Sal, the manager, reviewed my work I'd go down to the warehouse for my pay. I picked out coats for the year. The production was done here, In the USA. A year later clothing retailers began transferring Production to China. Desktops came out at the same time. My grandmother came home to say. I'm getting you a desktop, and not to play with, you better figure it out. She brought home manuals and software, I did figure it out. And my grandmother did too. She took that knowledge back to work and could do her work using Lotus 1-2-3, spreadsheet software instead of the paper ledger. Didn't matter. Soon after this My grandmother, Sal, Myself... we were all fired. China was doing the work. Remember the movie "Gung Ho." In 2003 I visited India. Went back in 2004 and saw th swift growth in a rural area from farms with low yields, electricity run cow dung ethanol to fiber optic cables, desktops with internet, production of cubic zirconia instead of farming. A whole infrastructure and new livelihoods within a year. Problem is that a livelihood here, also means in investment in America; taxes, stock for retirement, social security, consumerism..., with returns, that over the years, we learn we'll never see. The only thing driving the growth of most our communities is the housing market, taxes and consumerism. Even Silicone Valley's investment in technology started the banking collapse. All of our money has been put into the top earners that have been on an automation path for decades.

If only it was that simple. People have very simplistic view of manufacturing and retail and often it didn't go beyond someone make something and sell it. But there is myriad of things before between and after nevertheless ultimate it come to one thing "money". As first step in anything inflation must be curbed at any cost and then someone need to erect trade barriers because no amount of pride, passion, belief even hard work cant compete when you are flooded with dirty cheap garbage from overseas like Shien etc. because mentality of 90% of people will be o rather buy this pair of jeans for 5 bucks and throw them away in two months then invest and buy this domestically produced one for 60 plus

the lady at the beginning of the video said we need to manufacture here because we need to. The real reason the US needs to manufacture its own products is because it gives jobs to US citizens, it allows US companies to be in the market meaning that if the US doesn't have any products they make in a market then other countries can dictate what the prices are, also producing products also gives workers in the US not only a job but a skill that can be used in the same or similar field so that they can make more money and have more options in job seeking and pay seeking.

@@S0ulinth3machin3 US empire is predicated on exporting consumer inflation while importing wealth asset inflation. It how the petrodollar system works. This is what people mean when they talk about the deep state, only they don't realize it. The world is forced into using the US dollar, and has been since 1944's Bretton Woods agreement started. In 1972, the Bretton Woods gold standard collapsed, and the only way to continue the absolute monopoly of the US dollar as the global reserve currency was if the US become the world's #1 borrower, which means the US had to continuously run budget deficits and trade deficits. 3rd world countries were forced to take on US debt (IMF and World Bank debt) and in so doing were forced into trade deals where they had to drastically cut social spending, drive down wages to poverty levels, and export their raw materials and/or labor for pennies on the dollar. All of this was so that the US could offshore and automate manufacturing jobs to the 3rd world, paying pennies on the dollar. Doing this meant killing the US working class. Manufacturing jobs left the country, and the working class never recovered. Instead of raises, we now have "consumer credit." The US working class borrows from the ruling class whereas before the ruling class paid the working class raises. How insane is that? The offshore companies, whether American owned or foreign owned, all bring their surplus US dollars they got in profits back into Wall Street and real estate. They buy US Treasuries, in specific. The need for the American government to sell those Treasuries comes from the deliberate creation of the US budget deficit and US debt. This is the deep state. The theater we see now between the Republicans and Democrats is all fake. Both parties want to cut spending and eviscerate the working class here just as we forced 3rd world countries to do in the past. Both the Republicans and the Democrats would never ever allow the US to default on its debt. Never will happen. The US debt is the engine of wealth creation for the 0.1% paid for by you and me - the bottom 85%. No debt, no vulgar American wealth. The 0.1% pay very very little in taxes. Instead of paying taxes, as they did during the American boom years after WW2, they now "lend" the US money by buying Treasuries. How insane is this? Workers borrow their salaries and corporate employers lend the government money to pay its bills. Remember the Panama Papers? Offshore tax shelters? As of 2015, the conservative estimate was that there was $50 Trillion dollars in money out there that should be inside the US, and should have had taxes taken out of it. Now, in 2023, I'm sure that amount has doubled. Many corporations pay no taxes at all, and in fact receive refunds from the IRS due to a legal form of embezzlement known as Transfer Pricing. This is where corporations set up an offshore shell company that buys the corporations output at exorbitantly low $ amounts and then sells the onshore form of the same company those same outputs for astronomical $ amounts, thereby enabling the corporation to claim to the IRS that they did not make any profits because they spent all their earnings in production. The entire US economy is fake.

there isn't a "war on work". What's happening is we're teaching young people to go for the highest paying career possible. It's greed driven. But just like not everyone can be an NFL player, not everyone can be a hedge fund manager. So getting rid of vocational classes is a bad idea. Nevertheless, kids are taking out student loans, thinking they'll make it and the ones who don't make the cut end up being lifetime indentured servants to their student loan service. And because there's no vocational classes, few people are exposed to the types of skills you need for manufacturing. It all started with worshipping the dollar. Money is important, but so is finding where you fit in the economy. Imagine if we let students take out student loans to chase an NFL dream. That's what's happening with the hedge fund dreamers.

Funny, I was a Tannery owner in South Africa, we did around 2000 skins a week but 60% were game, and sheep and the rest bovine. We did a lot of business in the US mainly the Southern States, they loved Game skins and Trophy Mounts. We had a Company doing all our Trophies. We sold to a competitor but we were under enormous pressure from Trade Unions over Pay disputes, so we just had enough fighting their Lawyers in court. We layed off all the workers which made them revolt against their Union and forced us to reopen, which we did and then Sold off. The margins were tiny, buyers tried to play us off against each other until we fixed prices over the board so that quality could take preference, but over and above that we had the Gaming Board checking quality and stamping the back for export, so you could not just export as you wished, it had to have the "Stamp of Approval" and they had to be checked off against the SITES list of banned exports. AND the skins that did not make it for export, they incinerated because it was an "animal product and could not be returned", they stole them, LOL! Good luck to you, keep the Tanneries open!

People were good at what they did, and many of us legitimately enjoyed that work. Our cities and towns and the people that live in them are not better off for manufacturing being moved overseas, the void left when that happens creates a vacuum that often results in worse circumstances for a people and area. OMG! The "made in America" thing became so big during the 70's and some in the 80's (the 90's started ushering in the 'fast fashion' trend which gained a major foothold in the 2010's). As a 'reseller' of used goods, I can say 1000% the items 'Made in the USA' are widely accepted AROUND THE WORLD. America has adjusted to this crap before and we ARE NOW!

We should form the FTA between USA and EU as fast as possible and as comprehensive manner as possible. Markets would open up without stupidly high taxes in both directions and at least here in EU there are huge markets for quality products, we are not so wasteful that we would aim to buy one use items. This is a good news for US. manufacturers. We just need that FTA.

Yeah and there used to be dinosaurs too what's your point? In the last 40 years American mfg's have focused on 1/4 results/shareholders earnings NOT on quality hence why foreign countries were invted and encouraged to manufacture elsewhere. American co's focus on profits not quality see how that is working out for GM and Ford? Eventually that greed catches up with them and there is not turningg back

The real root of the problem is when Fed issued seed money then big banks borrowed @0,05% interest, in turn it loan out 9 times as much (10% capital rule) to investors and medium banks. The Fed and big banks created way too much money ($64 Trillion), but the investors put these money in stock markets, crypt markets, real estates, high tech social media, etc. Non-Real producing sectors. Only very very very little money invested in the Real-Producing sectors where lacking capital prevented growth and advances. The financial institutions, investment funds and brokers controlled the money flows, and choke off the Real Production sectors. As long as Wall Street type exists, the manufacturing sector in the US will die slowly. 🤔🤨🙄😎
