Not only are the Iranian nuclear sites too deep for America's best bunker busters to even penetrate, but they're built underneath mountain ranges & protected by layers of military grade concrete. Just to drop bombs on such a site, aircraft would have to constantly evade incoming air defense missiles while carrying their maximum payload which is extremely difficult. Also most of Iran's missile assets are either mobile or themselves launched from silos connected to underground facilities.

This was done by both Russia and America, mostly by Russia which makes us Russians wonder why America never bothered to add that particular design modifications in the T tunnel section design. In the last calendar year the US and Israel have TWICE practiced "a tactical attack on a rogue nation's nuclear facility." This involves US refueling tankers to refuel: the counter-measures aircraft, the F-35I which will "sneak in" and take out air defenses followed, F-16s to take out enemy aircraft, F-15s to bomb a lot of other sites with B-2s bringing in the bunker busters. To get to Iran and back will take a lot of refueling so Incirlik AB in Turkey will be very busy.

But is it beyond the effects of hundreds of MOABs that consecutively hit the exact same spot? I was told that some bunker buster bombs can get through 20 meters of solid rock. (66ft). Doesn't that mean 100 such bombs could theoretically penetrate huge depths? I was told the facility is under 300ft of rock. Surely, the seismic activity of all these bombs would be enough to destroy the tunnels, ventilation and and services of the nuclear facility.

You're assuming they don't have a LOT of stored food and water, and that they don't have heavy equipment to dig them out. They also very likely have potassium superoxide rebreather systems from the Russians to keep the air breathable for weeks. So even if it takes a month to dig them out after a strike, the workers would be fine.

I was out there in the Persian Gulf in April of 88 with VA-94 on the USS Enterprise. We sank or destroyed most of their Navy. And they are comparable to the Chinese Navy....... can't keep their boats from sinking in port. The Sahand was one our old Frigates, we gave the Shah of Iran. We sank the Sahand, and some patrol boats, we damaged the Sabalan, their other Frigate. The newly built or bought Iranian Sahand, turned Turtle and capsized in port. And sank a few days later. Russian, Chinese, and Iranian Navy don't have the damage control training to save their ship when damaged, or tied up in port. A contributing factor to what got this started was the USS Robert's hitting an Iranian mine. USN ships damage control measures are tried, and tested, the Robert's made it back home, and served until 2015. And if you didn't see the size of the hole in the port side of the USS Cole after that boat loaded with explosives rammed it? It made it home, too. And as far as I can tell is still in service. Iran better hope Isreal doesn't soon acquire aerial refuling capabilities.

Iran's nuclear facilities are not too deep given the U.S. plans to target them each B2 and B52 can carry two of the latest bunker busters. They will drop seconds apart one at a time but will hit the same aiming point one after the other until they destroy their target. The U.S. has 20 B2s and 50 B52s. If its important enough to reach however deep the facilities are, they have 140 tries on the first pass to get it right, all hitting the same target. So, not too deep...
