Unfortunately I had no choice, and his words were in the heat of the moment, I was behaving badly, and he later cried and asked me to stay. I think that "trapped animal" part makes us say and do things we do not mean at times. But overall, you make a good point. Thank you.

Been long distance with my man for a year. I have no interest in moving. I’m a single mom with a great career and life. He is single and works for a huge company that has locations all over. I love him so much. He will be a great husband, I know this. I sat him down and used your line, “I’m looking for a husband. I don’t want a boyfriend I see once a month. I want more kids. If you don’t see yourself moving to Maryland, let’s go our separate ways.” 18 days later hes signed a job offer in Maryland. Feels like a dream. I can’t believe this advice is free! Love you Adrienne been following you for years and it’s changed me to my core! ❤

I’m so happy you made your voice clear. So many women are fearful of letting a man know they want to be a wife. But men really get it, and take action. Or they run away for good and find some other woman’s years to take and use. Happy for you all. ❤️

The annoying part is that when I get to the point that I’m over it and actually decide to walk away it’s truly over for me. I’m done with the crap and don’t have interest in going back. It does work though. I’ve gotten a proposal that way but by then I was truly over it.

I walked away from my man last week. Packed up all of my stuff and took space. Best thing that ever happened in our relationship. He took 4 days in nature, turned inward, is seeking support outside the relationship and is evolving and growing. We are now having hard conversations without anger and frustration, from a place of love and compassion. I never thought I’d see that man in tears, but he was and is now making actual changes. He thanked me for walking away, helping him wake up, and said it’s been the best thing that’s happened to him and the changes he’s making is for him and for us.

Good for you! I had to walk away for a man I was with for a long time. I pray the man who is better for you will come soon. I regret ever, ever staying as long as I did. I kept wondering how I could be different to get back to the really good times. Years later, I look back, and I regret ever hanging on. The humiliation I felt over the time wasted and his treatment of me, is still something that makes me feel sad that I didn't value myself more to dump him. I'm glad you left. Move away and go back to college, maybe you'll meet a man that can value you.

@@natashadickson4819 True. But a lot of separated guys can talk a good game. Maybe you just met him or you're just friends but you seem compatible. He talks about how terrible his wife is, and as a mother. He talks about divorcing all the time, he even has a date picked out - its less than a year. He talks about the future (yours). He wants to spend every waking minute with you and tells you how much he enjoys you. He tries everything to involve you in his kids lives until you catch yourself imagining what life would be like together as a family. Now you're screwed. And as the date gets closer to his "divorce" he's getting nervous. And then fear and insecurity set in. The dialog changes and when you have a disagreement, YOURE the one in the wrong. He projects those fears and insecurities onto you and you will never do or be right. It can get so bad that you can't even be friends with him anymore. As Adrienne said about a man being comfortable, if he doesn't have to make a decision he will live in the state he's in and even find a way to be comfortable there. If the wife doesn't want a divorce then he has to do everything himself. Some men can live separated for years. They will do whatever they want anyway and live in their dream world.

I walked away from my Coparent who is also a very connected soul bond after he put me and another girl into a 3rd party situation. He had been lying to me after I gave him a second chance. I told him nope, 3rd party nonsense is a non negotiable and I want a husband and father to our son who has high integrity. I gave up my job, my home for 11 years and move crossed country with our then 8 month old. Best decision of my LIFE!!!!! My life has grown 100x times, I’ve stepped into my Queen energy and our child is well adjusted. Is my ex still there? Yup. Am I being a wife and mom to him without the real commitment? Heck no!!!! Best decision I’ve made for my life and I recommend it for anyone stuck with a man who won’t give you what you desire. Don’t settle. Never settle! ❤🙏

I walked for the first time ever&blocked him everywhere. Usually he’s the one saying we should break up but never follows through. I left without a word or warning whilst he was at work. Its been almost 3 months & nothing but a sobbing phone call to my mum about how he wasnt 3 years on me . But I’m okay with it&I have felt so empowered yet miss him sometimes. He didn’t respect me . He threw me out once& I had to go back& even then its like it was about power for him. No change no humility just throwing any word at me that comes to mind in anger. I had enough. I never knew what you meant about a woman knowing when to walk until now. I thought I’d fall to pieces but I have barely cried. He wasnt the man I met..I regret nothing. In fact, I needed to do this for the both of us. I will be okay. I’m curious&my heart is still his but I need my heart more than he does right now. I know you say leave the crack in the door but honestly - let him move mountains. My boundaries were so loose cos of my living situation. I needed him&he exploited that. Let’s see if he would die&kill for me as he says he would when the scales are balanced. I’m not his toy anymore.

In Florida, if you don't pay rent you can be removed from the home in less than 30 days. The homeowner doesnt have to give you notice. If a man wants you to live rent-free with him, that sounds like a good deal until things go wrong and he wants you to leave. instead I recommend offering to pay a small amount of rent and pay by check. You have more roghts this way and he wont be able to get rid of you quickly if something goes awry.

He quickly became distant and not making effort or communicating when he couldn’t keep calls. I stepped back and he called when he wanted to meet when he worked in my area but it was already clear that he only made the effort when he was doing something here anyway. I walked away from a few man. Yes they have come back and treating me the same. So i have enough. Don't walk away just to have him back and have him come back to half ass. Some people doesn't change. Stop making excuses for him. He knows he's hurting you. Let go and make room for someone better. Repeat until you receive someone who is the same energy and level with you. Wasted time is worst than Wasted money. Love yourself and have peace. Best of luck. It will past but you need to let it pass and one day you will be happier and that you made the best choice for you. If he comes back and really work harder for you. Okay until than. Walk away. Know your worth and power.

He still calls me and even called me drunk a few weeks ago and wanted to work things out. But he's back on the same thing so I'm keeping him at bay. I don't have time for this.

That's so sad that people are having to jump through all of these hoops just to get a commitment these days, it doesn't sound natural at all. I honestly don't know what to make of this. If i wasn't good enough for you the first time round i don't think it would ever be the same even if i did lock you down.

Coming from a man here. Reason it’s hard to lock us down is because marriage in today society for a “man” is like having a hun to your head. Especially if kids are involved. If things were great like in the old days everyone would have their husbands and wife by the time their 20 and kids out of the house by the time they are 40. Men are stepping out. Just ain’t worth it.

This is what I said. Men aren’t worth marrying at this point. They’re not the same as when I married my deceased husband 20 years ago. You should not have to leave a man to make him wise up to you. I didn’t back then. And he was 11years older than me

I’m 3 mins into the video and yes… she is absolutely right. The love of my life, I’ve messaged on these videos in the past about him- we reconnected Jan after 3 years post breakup. Long story short, this past Friday, I messaged him to let him know I was going out and ask if he wanted to meet me… I heard zero back from him. I get to said place and guess what… my ex (that I’ve been talking to here and there since Jan) was there!! He was out with the guys. Another man approached me and danced with me. I think it made my ex realize he could lose me. He sent me multiple texts that night saying he thought I was just all his. Saturday morning I show up at his house, unannounced lol… and now we are officially a couple again 🥰

So you literally don’t see how you are TEACHING this man how to treat you! Also how did you happen to end up at the same place where he was hanging out with his guys??? Sadly I think the red pill guys might be right after seeing this video. When women go towards the legal system immediately it doesn’t really sit well when the vast majority of marriages fail. Honest question here. Why would you want to set yourself up for a future like that? Now I’m not going to discredit everything you said. There are many valid points. Just feel like you’re attached to an outcome. Playing the walking away game should be done one way and one way only. That means you walk away and never reach out to the person you need to heal and so do they at that point.

the reality of walking away is that people aren't always being honest about the man not coming back. you leave and he doesn't chase after you...or if he does come back that doesn't always guarantee a change in him. then you are left more heartbroken than before. So I would say don't leave thinking he will be back, leave for your mental health...leave for peace. don't take him back so easily...allow him to earn his way back in your life.

I am that person who normally walks away really easily. What I do now is focus on my triggers when they come up, deep breathe, cry, whatever I need to do. I’ve decided I will only walk away again when it is a conscious decision made from a calm place, which de facto is not when I’m in a triggered state. So I remove myself from the situation if I’m that triggered and decide what I need to do moving forward.

If a man (7 months of dating, LDR, we were coming to each other and I planned to move to his country for the job) breaks up with you because I asked for honest talk after last 6 weeks of flaking and taking space, he cannot commit because of family obligations, and I ACCCEPT his breaking up with me and NOT asking him to stay, is it still counting as "walking away" or just being dumped? Honestly. I went no contact. I broke up once after first 4 months due to imbalances.

Dear Adrienne, thanks for great explaining. I wandered if you could advice - I am pregnant with my man (yeyyy!...), we are thinking about buying sth to live in togather, he talks about marriage but completely because of practical reasons, not proposing romantically. When we discuss houses, place etc. he said few times "let's get married than" but no kneeing down, no flowers etc, just casual talk two people after logn day walking home from grocery ;) For him getting married is just a piece of paper which may make easier to share practical side of life. For me marriage makes sense only as a romantic act and fun and joy and greatness of calling each other husband and wife. He was previously married, we met when he was divorced, I was engaged but never married, we are 40+ same age. We love and take care of each other and wanna spend life toghather and raise our baby obviously, and he is a good man and romantic but not when it comes to marriage. I value that he is expressing his way that he is serious in commiting, being togather till the end of life and legal responsibilities togather, but I don;t wanna marry someone who doesn't wanna wife, doesn't sincerely desire me as his wife, someone who is just eventually fine to do it because would make easier to organise. We talked about diferences in our attitude to marriage many times, he is regreting his previous marriage he wasn't 100% sure while getting married, so I don't want it to be again that way. Anyway - should I take beauty of the fact he is sincere, willing to live togather, not to mention baby comming ;) and not focus on fact it is not 100% the way I'd like it to be or just no marrying him and let it be the way it is?
