Simple you sound like a CC fan when AR wasn't on the court teams would come back on them why, for the lack of rebounds. The Sky guards were the worst in the W, the 3 position was even worst. Diamond who played 3 averaged 25mins and averaged less than 7pts a game and its why she was benched. Coach Wspoon moved Marina to the #3 spot and Chen played #2 Evans was benched after she turned the ball over 6 times in 1 game. Yet it was Evans during garbage time, the Sky winning AR needed 2 points on a fast break Evans refused to pass the ball. Izzy didn't pass the ball to Cardoso on many occasions. If you hire person who is a HC for the first time you don't fire them, you know they were inexperienced from the beginning as a HC. She could have remained on the Pelicans coaching staff. The real reason for firing coach Spoon was about race. Name 1 Black HC in any sport remain the HC after 1 year when their potential draft pick is a white player. Several new Black HCs in the NBA and NFL been fired because a white player is drafted. Paige can potentially be a lottery pick and the Sky could get her. I don't think it's as much of a brag to say they "almost made the playoffs" when it's a 12 team league and eight of the teams make it in. And it's one thing to be a little under .500 and make it in, but to be well below .500 and fighting for a spot is not the headline a coach, player, or team should be pinning up on their "I Love Me" wall. She couldn't control her players on or off the court. The players may love playing basketball as well as liked their coach, but they didn't respect the game, and that's when you lose the fans. If that happens when the public is within earshot, what happens when cameras aren't around? On the court, all you have to do is look at Chennedy Carter. Indiana proved that, because they could shoot layups better on the run than they could playing pound the ball to the bigs just to watch them miss 2 foot layups , grabbing their own missed shots and the other players just stand around watching instead of the whole team being involved! Why does it always have to be either the owners are bad, or racism as the only options? I know nothing about Weatherspoon other than past name recognition and given a chance she might develop into a good coach. Reese is good at getting OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS but is not much of a scorer from any spot on the court. She needs to work on that part of the game which I am sure she will. Cardoso though is going to be a beast on the court. C Carter is a top tier player when she controls her emotions on the court.

Agree with your takes. X's and O's aren't an issue b/c every team has a solid, experienced staff---no shortage of brain power. The allocation of minutes/rotations early-on didn't make sense and looked like management was calling the shots and not the coaches. That changed later in the season. Reese's conduct on the sideline was disrespectful to the staff and the jury might still be out on her. Things weren't copasetic for her at Maryland or LSU either. Time will tell. I do wish TSpoon would've upgraded her wardrobe (along with some other coaches). She looks good with the glasses and jacket 🙂. She's better off getting away.

She got removed for 2 reasons. #1 she didn't just allow and condone the flagrant fouls made by members of her team she celebrated it. A total no no. That's how you lost control of the team and locker room. #2 she allowed a player to jump up and down under the basket getting her own rebound counted for a double double. Meanwhile 2-3 teammates were open for 3-pointers. So you allowed this player to pad her counts even if it meant losing the game. That is why she was fired. Does the woman have the skills to be a great coach, sure. But those 2 reasons above cost you your job.

Come on, the Sky already had Chennedy and for most of the season Mabrey before she escaped the madness, then #7 pick Reese and #3 pick Cardoso joined the Sky. The Fever added CC and made the playoffs. Reese became a rebound champ and Chennedy balled yet Spoon was lost as to how to make the Sky a playoff team in a league where 8 of the 12 teams make the playoffs.
@__________Troll__________Ай бұрын
*What are you on about? The Fever's starting lineup consisted of two #1 picks (2024,2023), two #2 picks (2022,2018), and a #6 pick (2022)... on top of that they haven't had a lot of coaching changes aka system/play style changes, hardly any roster changes. You can't compare them to a team who's starting lineup consisted of one #3 pick (2024), one #4 pick (2020), one #6 pick (2021), one #7 pick (2024), and a #14 pick (2017)... on top of having three coaches/system changes and the last 3 years, and 3 star players leave in 3 years. The Sky don't have the stability the Fever have... plus they(Sky) finished one place below where they were projected to finish in August. So again, what are you on about?*

Then the offense pivoted to Reese. There are players asking to leave the team. The incident during Barbie night, where the players were fouling CC. Social media blew it up. Catching coach Witherspoon laughing when Cater bumped into CC. It was a toxic culture. The players stated that the new plays implemented late in the season changed their performance.
