As a DJ who uploads videos of events to various social media platforms, I found that i could get better reactions from younger generations (high school, college, etc) on TikTok. Social Media is all about reaching your target audience and this platform was number one for the younger generation. I have a rock solid fb page as well, but the reactions there are usually from 30-35 and older.

Reactions from kids are great but they don’t usually pay for the events

Millions of Americans make a living on tiktok in a way that they couldn't on FB or IG. The algorithm was better.
@forrestcrump56337 күн бұрын
I felt the same way at first, but once I gave it a chance, TikTok’s algorithm started showing me content I actually cared about, and it completely changed my mind. It’s not just mindless scrolling-TikTok is an incredible platform for real, unedited, and unfiltered news from people, not propaganda machines. It let us control the narrative instead of big corporations. Plus, TikTok Shop is honestly better and cheaper than Amazon for a lot of things, and it’s a huge opportunity for small businesses. There were over 1 million businesses here in the US making money there too and they just shut them down. Shutting this monster down isn’t really about privacy. It’s about shutting down free speech and stopping a platform that gives people access to open, unfiltered information

@@justingarret4776 most of my stuff is just word-of-mouth. I am not a full-time Dj I just do it for fun and side money. I found that paying for a website and posting on Facebook and Instagram was too much for me to constantly do and I didn’t get much business from it I just occasionally keep some mixes on mixcloud and POST some original production work on SoundCloud so if I get a gig it’s great if I don’t I don’t depend on it

Tik Tok was considered the number one platform for businesses, even corporate companies. Yes it does have it's juvenile elements because it started more as a novelty attention seeking content platform the way Vine and Snapchat was but as Tik Tok evolved, it became more useful because the way the algorithm worked and sponsors really took advantage of it which enabled users to make money from it. I'm not much of an expert on it and I was very skeptical and judgemental like everyone else but then I gave it a try and realized I can put the same video content that I put on my Facebook and Instagram pages. For me it was just another platform where I can reach another audience that don't follow me on other platforms like FB, IG and KZbin. I guess in my own brain I was thinking it would be another app where I can monetize content just like my KZbin channel.

I was in the middle with TT, like I didn’t care for it even though I have or had an account with it but also found interesting remedies for health and I was just starting to try and figure out how to go live on it. But I just didn’t care of the “Jackass” antics like you said, watching dudes kick each other in the nuts and having my brother in law stuff his phone in my face saying “ oh you have to see this machete fight and how this guy got his hand cut off!”. That’s stuff I don’t care about, plus I post mainly on FB, instagram and starting to get more content to KZbin. I did make about $10,000 on TT, oh wait, the 1 is silent so I made $0 hehehe. Thanks for all of your videos B!!!

i have tik tok, but dont use it myself OR understand the appeal of it... but i appreciate that a lot of music gains popularity through it, and even older songs as people record themselves doing dance moves to them. so it has been positive and is definitely relevant when it comes to DJing.

The younger generation that is beginning to become of marrying age is not here on YT or FB. They are however on TikTok. It is their generation’s version of your YT. If you want to connect with the younger audience, you have to get on their level. It’s okay if your audience demographic is not the same as others. Just do you. I do think however that this video would get a much better reaction if posted to TikTok itself

Tiktok is their KZbin! Like KZbinrs who made a living on youtube, many tiktokers made a living on tiktok. Losing Tiktok is similar to losing their jobs. Aside from people who made a living on the platform many more people are addicted to it and made it their daily life/hobby and losing access is like being deprived of food or water depending on their addiction. The difference is the target audience, even if they swap to youtube their current audience may not follow. There are also major differences in platform rules and feature sets, do we really wanna see tiktok marketers/resellers/twirkers/etc flood youtube? I dont have tiktok and probably never will, but there sure is gigantic audience for such platform who are now concerned where to go...

I never got on it. It just looked like dumb, mindless content to me. But I am very concerned about this censorship thing, where a government says; "You don't need to see that", "You don't need to say that". We cannot go down this path. The idea that ByteDance should be forced to sell TikTok to some American investor group (I wonder how many politicians will be among the investors?) is a complete misuse of government power.

They gather a lot of your person info., first dog, favorite color, mothers maiden name etc., kids don't filter anything. Now imagine these young people grow up and hold important positions in our society, it will be easy for them to hack all of their accounts. A massive financial hack big enough to crumble our economy or info to blackmail a front runner in a presidential election.

Watch the Joe Rogan episode where he talks about the terms of service of TikTok basically records everything on your phone and in theory could be used against you and the Chinese own TikTok

@ those are American companies and they are following government rules made by the FCC which may change with President Trump now. China is a communist nation and does not have America’s interests at heart. But I agree everyone’s terms of services are usually too invasive but then you can also expand that to the weaponization of the justice department and the FBI. We were one step away from the UK. They will go to your door and arrest you for something that you say on social media. I am not for any type of censorship either

That's not an explanation
@DJNickNystrom7 күн бұрын
@@briansredd Here are a few of my reasons I think it is the greatest social app ever created. 1. TikTok’s "For You" page is driven by a sophisticated algorithm that quickly learns user preferences and serves highly relevant and engaging content. 2. The platform democratizes content creation, allowing everyday users to go viral alongside celebrities and influencers. 3. The integration of music, with a vast library of popular and emerging tracks, enhances content creation and drives music trends globally. Many songs achieve mainstream success after going viral on TikTok. 4. TikTok reached 1 billion active monthly users faster than any other platform, highlighting its rapid growth and widespread appeal. These reasons alone set it apart from the other social media apps. I see it's back in service now thanks to an executive order that will be coming. Maybe that's your sign to give it another try!
