When I still went to church I had a talk with an attorney who claimed that religion and god is why people were moral. Even then, this rang false so I told him "I assume you don't want to be murdered?" He looked at me like I was an idiot and said "Of course not." "OK," I replied. "I don't want to be murdered either. Let's make an agreement not to murder each other, and promise if someone else tries to murder us we'll defend each other. 30 seconds and we didn't need religion or a god." I guess it's why I left religion later, but the "morality needs religion" is silly.

I went to catholic school, the crotchety nun teacher of 2nd grade had just ranted about her dislike of the replacement of “Merry Christmas” with “happy holidays” and the next day my mom sent me with an already sealed in an envelope Christmas card for her. Of course it said “Happy Holidays” on the front and of course this nun took it as a personal affront, as if I had done it on purpose to be cheeky, as if my second grade self had went to the store and chose a card with the intention of upsetting her….. needless to say she held it against me, along with other imagined slights, until she wasn’t my teacher anymore.

I guess my Catholic high school was nothing but an apostate center. They strung "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" as school decorations, dismissed creationism and intelligent design and focused on evolution in the science classes instead, taught science in general, and adamantly opposed fundamentalism - even the ordained ministers fully took part in this. They even had us read other religious texts 😧, like the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita 😨, and examine and criticize everything 😐, including the Bible 😱. And this high school was in central Texas 🤯, and somehow, the school is still active and still doing all of this 🤬. Oh, the horror, I say, with a voice thick and dripping like sarcastic marmite.

I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I used to watch some of the early vids darkmatter made... some actually got a giggle outta me, this was just unbearably dumb. The only hint of truthfulness I can get outta the video is the title. Why we're doomed. But I'd like to state real quick, we've always been doomed. We all are gonna die, someday. The sun gonna blow up, the milky ways gonna collide with Andromeda, the heat death of the universe etc, etc... but if we, emphasis on WE, believers & non believers alike can't figure out a way to teach the youth that there's not enough Lithium to power all the cars but for a few years, that men don't get pregnant, and that basic morals like don't kill, don't steal, don't lie are necessary. When I was going through the height of my own deconversion eight or nine years ago, you were one of the many youtube channels I'd watch regularly to help form my internal opinion about the truth behind the christianity I'd been raised in. You, The Bible Reloaded, Atheist Experience, random Christopher Hitchens debates - all contributing factors to my own atheism. It's now been a couple of years since I've actively watched any of your videos, and just today youtube has thrown this one at me; the algorhithm has been funky the last few days, but this is one that I actually appreciate, because it's helped to remind me how important you were in helping me escape the mental prison I grew up in. It also left me with a vague feeling of guilt when I noticed I'm not even subscribed to your channel, on top of reminding me how long it's been since I've watched any of your content. I realized, though, that this is simply because... well, you've done your job with me. Sixty seconds into this video, I recognized all the arguments you were making and found myself nodding along, and then started to gradually lose interest. Not because I'm not enjoying the video or your humor, but because I no longer need convincing. I've been a through and through atheist for the last several years and haven't really sought out any more atheistic videos in that time, except when I'll occasionally pull up an old Hitchens video just to bask in the glory of his wit. I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you for the contributions you made to my deconversion. I can't overstate how influencial your channel was to me questioning my faith when I was around 17-18 back in late 2016. My father would take me to his job, we only had one car, so I waited for church and youth group, in the weekends. Which means I spent a significant amount of time alone watching KZbin or fucking around alone before church. I wanted to be a pastor and I was very, and still am, interested in biblical history and the religions of the time period. I was very into fringe christian channels and somehow, the algorithm advertised your channel to me. I started watching and while angry at the blasphemy and mockery, I couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the stories portrayed and it all. Slowly I fell deeper into the rabbit hole and this channel kind of spurred my interest in researching the biblical contradictions and other such things, and just a few months later. I didn't believe, and hate myself and my family for taking away the best years of my life in service to this fraud. I truly appreciate your work, it is hilarious still, after all this time. Thank you, and the community for teaching me reason.

Such an inspiring comment! In my case, I had just gotten out of christianity. But I had doubt. Immense doubts. What if I had made the wrong choice? What if I woke up in hell after my death? But then some videos of this channel were shared by an atheist on a French forum. I watched them thoroughly and discovered how senseless the Bible actually was! This helped me overcome my fear and today, I am 200% sure that christianity is just preaching about fairytales. Oh, and just like you, I felt angry that my early years had be wasted on religion. He also helped me I soon after my deconversion. One of his early videos about free will was really great! Whenever someone brings up free will, I always remember that specific video and ask them, “What about the victim’s free will to NOT be a victim? Why does God always support the free will of the perp while ignoring the free will of their victim?” I have never gotten a good answer to that question. Actually I’m pretty sure I never have gotten one. They tend to just run away from it. Hopefully to think about it for a while, but I doubt it! 😜

I once had a philosopher teacher that spent one class debating about Jesus as a philosopher, and not as a religious figure, just as a philosopher. Some students wanted to stir the debate towards the religious figure of Jesus, but the teacher wouldn't let them, and immediately cut them off saying that the class is about philosophy, and thus we were there to discuss Jesus as a philosopher. It was an interesting class, I wish I could remember the details or the teacher's name. The conclusion was, more or less, that, philosophically speaking, Jesus positioned himself in the mentality that all human actions have a consequence, and thus we must act accordingly to not act in a way that we would not like to be acted upon ourselves, sort of like "Don't lie at people because you wouldn't like to be lied to" that sort of thing. It was interesting to say the least, and I think it is a step in the right direction to stop seeing Jesus in a purely religious sense by thinking of him as a an ancient philosopher, like Plato, Aristotle, Scorates or Kǒngzǐ (AKA Confucius).
