Norway is a beautiful country with clear blue fjords, more mountains than you could ever hike, a decent amount of wildlife, and endless forests.
I mean, the winters are long and dark, and the mosquitoes and biting flies will annoy the hell out of you in July, but apart from that, it is an amazing place with vast space and very few people. It is a country where you can still return to a life of less dependency, and a closer connection to nature.
At least that's what I like to think.
As a bonus, buying land and small farms in the countryside is somewhat affordable. That's why my girlfriend Thea and I bought a small farm close to a lake in the countryside of mid-Norway.
It took a childhood in a small town, 5 years of studying, and a year in Vietnam to realize what life I was truly looking for!
I couldn't find it in any other country until we came to Norway.

Awesome video! In my opinion, Norway is the most spectacularly beautiful place on earth (coming from the US). We have been there twice in the last 2 years, late spring (Bergen/south & Lofoten Islands/north) and have driven 6k miles +/- exploring and mostly 'SUV Camping'. My partner and I both think of Norway almost daily and there is something pulling us back- an almost unexplainable feeling. We must have some Viking heritage lol. We are planning to go back next year and maybe one day if we are lucky enough we will purchase a small cabin ourselves. Keep up the great videos!!

Very cool to see your journey! We are a small scale farm in Innlandet, and it is true as you say. This life looks very idyllic on the outside, but oh my gosh it is so much hard work. We moved to a farm to live the simple life, but in the last three years we have been more overworked and stressed than ever before. But it like you say, you're setting up a business, and finally now on year 4 we feel on top of things, and life is calming down. Good luck on your project!

I don't understand how people are able to support themselves living like this. I'll admit, I'm jealous. Do you get a monthly stipend from your parents? Did you earn huge amounts of money before this and you're living off that? Or is it just insanely cheap where you live? I'm really interested in how people do it.

Would be nice with that stipend :D Savings before and two companies at the side now... That and financial worries :) It's very expensive here.

It is so good to see another one/a couple take action in living life that feels good. We need you young people very much on this planet to live the change that we older ones have been preparing in our own way. Of course not all of us did prepare this change but some of us did and we've been looking for those who would follow and to continue what we started. It may not seem like much that was done (or more not done, like not following the rules that also were laid us for us) but it was not easy and then nor is it today. It gets easier when you realise that you are not the only one on this path. Thank you for taking action! This is not about changing the world with big buildings etc! This is about living according to your heart, according to your soul's calling! This is how change is happening on this planet. And yes, it does take either time or money or both and it's ok as the path is what counts, how you feel while you do what you do, is what counts! Well done for taking action and buying the farm. This is how it all starts now with the new world that we are creating. I am one who walked a different path many times and I had to compromise for a while (like go back into the 9 to 5 routine for as long as needed) and then continue on with what felt better to me. It was always so good to see that there was the odd one doing similar things. Validation is nice to find at times. My post here is to validate you and to cheer you on! You are on the right track, you are doing what you came here to do! This is how it's meant to be and yes, for now it's about ownership of land that we can be good guardians (of course we can be that renting places as well). Thanks for sharing and keep going! 🙂

Hei Till, tusen takk for sharing this very calming and i inspiring video! We are also looking for a cheap cabin in southern Norway but would like to have a permanen living right. Do you thing this is possible for eu citizens and an average budget of 50 000 Euro? Tried to contact some norwegia real estate agency but they do not respond. We thought it could be the lower budget... Thank you for your responce.
@tilldaling
@tilldaling 5 ай бұрын
Those would be small farms without the need for husbandry... And on that budget, I'm afraid it is not going to be much more than a ruin or an extremely simple cabin without a permanent right to live. 100.000 plus some restorations will be more realistic :) Pretty much everything goes over Finn. And most likely and unfortunately, they might not have taken you seriously :)

@@Jgrey3691 Well because German tourists amongst others litter, leave literal heaps of sh*t and used toilet paper, refuse to support local shops, and bring most if not all their food from home, and we had enough of Germans from 1940 to 1945. Campervans, RVs, and the like clog the roads, causing dangerous situations, and seem to think traffic rules do not apply to them.
