The problem of consciousness, however, is radically unlike any other scientific problem. One reason is that consciousness is unobservable. You can’t look inside someone’s head and see their feelings and experiences. If we were just going off what we can observe from a third-person perspective, we would have no grounds for postulating consciousness at all.

Sir! Thanks for this video. Very exciting and a deep topic. In sci-fi movies they portray humans adapt to cyber genetics and implant their brain into a machine so, they could live long. My question is "Does brain is actually an organ or its what defines who we are?" . I mean, If you move HDD from pc A to pc B it'll run because the OS resides in HDD and pc B only has computational unit *CPU* aka "The Brain". But for living things Our brain servers both roles, Storage & Processing. So, what If a person moves his brain to a machine and continues his life, will he still have his consciousness like he feels himself alive? 😅 I know movies are creative but it might laid the foundation for studying Human consciousness. If you remember the movie *CHAPPIE* or if you haven't watched it yet then you'll really love it. I feel sad to know all these and not able to see to its end due to limited life span😅. Hope our future generations solves all these. 👍

When you transfer hdds to another pc with a CPU, it will work fine because all of them are designed to work together. A cpu knows how to handle HDD and the OS in it. But a living organ brain and a machine are two completely different entity. We need to develop technologies that can interconnect brain and machine. We need to develop tons of artifical neuro systems that can collaborate with living organs like brain. Which, at this technological level we currently have, is impossible. We may expect some advancement in the next 100 years.
