Vanlife is a dream for many, but it’s not always as carefree as it looks. After a few intense days of driving, exploring, and endless decisions, we hit a wall. In today’s episode, we’re opening up about our experience with burnout and decision fatigue on the road, and why we had to STOP everything for a moment of rest and reset. We’re sharing the real side of vanlife that doesn’t get talked about enough: the overwhelming pressure of constant decisions, the fatigue that creeps up when you least expect it, and the toll it takes on your mental and physical well-being. Sometimes, the best way to keep going is to stop for a while. Join us for this real, honest conversation about burnout and recovery on the road. We'd love to hear from you! Share your thoughts, ask questions, or tell us about your own Big Lap adventures in the comments below.😊🚐🙏

sometimes you need to stop and reset, stop and smell the roses along the way and move on when you are ready. Don't feel pressured to put videos out as we just love seeing whatever you put out. Cheers

Omeo my! That was absolutely gorgeous scenery! One could stay for days in areas such as that, just breathing in the beauty and serenity. You bring without fail beautiful, well done videos every week. While I hope you know I appreciate and look forward to seeing you each week, I have no clue what all is involved in just getting these videos out. I can imagine it gets hard, knowing you want to deliver quality. Not to mention the hundred other things you deal with that we never see. Everyone needs a disconnect, a wind down sometimes. I realize you may be on some time frame, but please take time to stop and enjoy the view. Take a few days of doing what you want, without slinging a camera. Breathe! We'll be here guys, we want you refreshed, happy and well. Safe travels and GOD bless

Good morning guys from the 🇬🇧 UK. I totally understand a burnout. They creep up on you and before you know it you’re getting short with each other and making mistakes and generally one day rolls In seamlessly into the next and before you know it you are on a path you never wanted to be on. But I guess van life on the road could do that and you will have to learn on the go that you can’t always “ just wing it “ and you have to take time out for the life you wanted. Put us viewers second as we will still be here guys ❤❤❤

We love the roads over falls Creek to Omeo and then head over Hotham to Harrietville and then over Mt Beauty. I hope you get a chance to do these. Hubby and I have been over these on the motorbikes and in the MX5. Can't wait to get back down that way next year.

That sounds amazing, we definitely want to check those roads out next time we're in the area! 🤩🚐🙏would be fun in an mx5 for sure

Kia ora kōrua! Thanks for the episode!! We love following you two. 😊We didn’t quite get what your ‘burn out’ was though? Vanlife can be hard yes, what was your burnt out though? Deciding where to move on to? Or, feeling you need to put a YT ep out? Or finding a shower? We’re obviously so interested in every others journey? Keep em coming. Cheers

Thank you guys 🤩🚐🙏it was a little bit from column A and a little bit from column B that culminated in feeling over it 😳we’re putting a lot into the KZbin side of our lives and working to make it a fulltime living on the road , and the search for interesting and inspiring content can be a drag especially with big travel days on top of filming .😳🚐 Hope you’re doing well 😊

@@SandVan 😊 We understand! Remember you're in control of your content and the amount you do. We took a long break from KZbin and it was heavenly! Now we just do the odd ep here and there and we feel loads better about it. Can become way too much aye!! Head happiness is so important! 💚🩵 Cheers team! 🤙

Some lovely shots of Port Albert in this one. Sorry about the burnout. I'm glad you just chilling. Great spot for it. My aunty used to live in PA and my grandparents had a dairy farm just up the road in Yarram. Beautiful spot south Gippsland, but you're right, it gets so bloody windy. We used to spend a lot of time there. We did that drive over Mount Hotham from Bright to Omeo (or Dargo too) dozens and dozens of times. It got a bit hairy if you got out of season snow. 😂 We were out that way, Lakes Entrance, a couple of years ago and stayed at a little town called Buchan - famous for its caves. But the whole region is lovely. We go to Batemans Bay on the NSW south coast quite a bit so we always try and stay in Gippsland for a night or two on the way. Good luck with the burnout recharge. PS if you do head north to the NSW south coast the oysters at Batemans Bay and Narooma are superb - and cheap. 😋 PPS Congratulations on 10K subs!!! Superb effort.

Hi Sandy and Tim Well said. and I feel you. I totally agree with you. I really appreciate your honesty. Life is precious. We may reset ourselves from time to time. haha we did not have premiere for 2 wks and just came back one last week. We just did not have enough time to produce a film we satisfy. At first, I was very afraid because I was often asked if I have upcoming premiere even though K7S post the notice at the community. We don't wan to burn ourselves down to the ground, haha Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Well done Look forward to the future projects. So sorry I have been absent due to being away from home for evacuation after natural disaster by Helene and Milton.

Was cycle touring some years back along the Murray in South Oz and met a couple that were on their seventh lap in a big bus and had their favourite spots they'd stay in for up to six weeks at a time. Pretty hard to see it all in one sweep. From Bairnsdale to Bruthen, Omeo and Hotham is a great Moto road. If you get back that way have a look at the Washington Winch, I went in there with my old Kawasaki, 37°12'42.3"S 147°53'00.9"E

Hi again guys. I think I remember you talking about gym membership for showering etc. which gym are you a member of and do you think it’s worth it. Do you use your van shower at all. Sorry to be a pain.
@SandVan3 күн бұрын
Thank you Heather 🤩🚐🙏we do use our shower in the van 🚐 but it’s not unlimited like a gym shower , we’re with anytime fitness it’s the gym with the most locations in Australia and we paid for a year outright as this is the best value , the gyms are very well kept usually with complimentary shower gel , hairspray , straighteners and massive mirrors , they have free wifi and lounge areas also , so if you need to workout , shower or just chill out they’re really a worthwhile investment on the road , also 24/7 access , often they’re in industrial areas so the streets outside are perfect for stealth overnight stays , win win in our books😊🚐🙏

We follow similar guidelines on a longer donder. We like to enjoy the journey. When we head off to Europe and hit the trail we will be doing an average of 25 miles a day and no more. Stopping for awhile to explore as we can. We will also have another van in convoy so that will help control is we hope.

Is it van life or the working on the road - KZbin that’s hard or both? I see a few people making videos that say it’s hard and they get burned out. As much as we love you videos I’d rather you take a break when you need too there’s a good book that says on the 7th day though shaky rest haha something like that but I reckon a day a week of rest is required no matter what you do 🙏🏻 God bless you both with rest 😊
@SandVanКүн бұрын
Thank you Karen 🚐🤩it’s a little bit of both really 😊unfortunately we just keep going until we have to stop , we’re fast travellers especially when it comes to KZbin 😳🤦♂️but we’re learning to slow down and not sweat about filming all the time 😊
