Canada sucks right now we are in heaven emergency lockdown, I hope you know my surgeon Dr David Stephen, he trains interns (he is in the fellowship program) at the university of Toronto , I love my surgeon he saved my life. I was his youngest patient , you can’t even tell I had a replacement surgery I’m an athlete now .Sad you had leave Toronto this way. At list you got your training and some good experience . You Surgeons save life’s , keep up the Good work , 🙏

I'm planning to move back to Nigeria after over 10 years in Canada. I hate the cold weather with a passion but had to endure to get the education and resources i will need in Nigeria. going back to Africa is a challenge , a real one. You shall overcome everything there , unfaithfull man, black magic to ruin , family matter , jjealous family and start new friend, childreen education and future, and if you are an artist , appreciate books , let me tell you that its going to be very very difficult GO for a short visit , 3 months to 1 year , before making a major move. We lived here in Canada for 20 years and finally decided to go back home to the Philippines . like you said , do whatever makes us happy. I salute you Dr. Jude. I'm Canadian, but I would never encourage anyone to move away from their family unless it is absolutely necessary. Grandparents and the other members of a support system are more important than most things in life. Work life should also be as balanced as possible.

Complete facts! I love Canada! had an amazing time, but the family are just happier with cousins, grandparents, auntie etc near by, I think travelling is great, but you settling is different

Hmm, yes and no. Not everyone is as close to family, and they can only do that much, meaning they can help but only up to a point, actually it has as many benefits as it has disadvantages. Some people thrive elsewhere while some do better locally, some are more patriotic and more attached to the mother/fatherland, some less. The speaker in this video speaks from the point of view of a relatively privileged person who has at least 2 choices, keep that in mind too.

Well I have been in canada for years and my hubby works outside canada. And I have been duking it out all these while with 3 kids, I have zero family yeah family is important but hey There are certain jobs you have and for everyone to be happy, you shuttle, live apart etc. Family is good but we also have our dreams The pandemic generally affected everyone and even if you had family here the Covid guidelines were if you don’t live in same household, no visits.Anyway thank God you guys are back home and happy

I am a Family Physican (GP) trained in the UK and I moved to Canada November 2019. I think moving to a massive city like Toronto is not ideal. Toronto and it's suburbs are very expensive and also not a very family friendly area considering housing and neighborhood. Too densely populated. Work-wise, I guess it was just your personal experience given your specialty. As a GP, I am still busy during COVID and I can even get busier if I want. I live in St Catharines which is a small city in the Niagara area. About 1 hour 20mins to Downtown Toronto. Very nice neighborhood. Housing is cheaper with lots of space in the house, backyard and parks. The lake side is beautiful. Beautiful waterfront to visit. Only 20 drive to the Niagara Falls from my home. I really love it here. I also enjoy the practice here better. I guess we have different experiences but location is very important. Like I tell people, the only down side of moving to Canada is the cold otherwise, the quality of life here is better.

I actually loved Toronto, didnt have any issues with it at all.. if we stayed long term, we probably would aim to move out to the burbs, I guess the issue is that during COVID all elective surgery was stopped, there was no meetings and very little recruitment.. so I guess my hand was forced, either elsewhere in Canada, or back home

Was Japan more comfortable to live in and less overcrowded than Canada ?..... Was there any major problems that you faced, related to your career ,in Japan that may not have happened ,if you were in your home country?

@@philosophicalmonkachu7711 Japan is more crowded than Canada, but people are more used to it, so they move more in sync. It's hard to get a job as a non-Japanese outside of teaching English or within an international corporation (so Tokyo only pretty much) where it would actually be better to get the job outside of Japan then transfer.

I can definitely relate to this. Lived in the US for 2 years with my american hubby & being pregnant there till the pandemic hit everything changed for me. @@sg5720 I know Toronto Public Health literally said they are counting people who died WITH Covid as Covid Deaths. 85% of deaths are 70yo and over and 95% of the deaths are age 60 and over and these numbers include people who did NOT die from Covid. One cancer surgeon from Sunny Brook Hospital literally said he is not allowed to perform Cancer surgeries with the lockdown rules. Clearly this shows our gov does not care about us. Our only hope is if Pierre Poilievre becomes the Conservative Party Leader. We have others speaking out but we need one collective group or we will lose. Many people still believe what is going on is for our safety.

Toronto, here. Multiculturally, Toronto was a great place for you to live whist here in Canada. I was born and raised in the Maritimes, where people's cultural backgrounds are far less varied. There is more acceptance in T.O. I hope you and your lovely family are well.

I'm sorry you were raised in the Maritimes, I agree, the Maritimes are definitely the most racist part of Canada. I also warned him about Western Canada, where they're pretty much 'Little Trump's'. Ontario was definitely the best area of Canada for them to move to. I'm glad that they ended up enjoying the very best of Canada; but, I know how biased and draconian Canadians are. Canada used to be one of the best and nicest countries and people, not anymore. The majority of Govt.'s and authorities in Canada have just turned it into a Conservative, red-neck, abusive horror story for a huge majority of Canadians. But; being a Dr. he would have been fine no matter where he lived, Canada is definitely divided into the 'Haves' and the 'Have-nots', and if you're not above a certain Tax bracket in Canada, you're not considered worth the ground you walk on and are open to severe Govt. abuse.

As someone born in Canada of mixed background I truly wish people understand that Toronto is only one city in this vast land. You can't expect to have diversity everywhere. And maybe there ought to be more of a will to learn and embrace our culture and natural beauty. This may not apply to this post directly but it saddens me to hear people beat beating down the country and expecting the whole country to be like TO. I think more Torontonians especially new should get out of the city core more often. Just get to know the rest of it. BTW cold and snow kinda par for the course in Northern Hemisphere. Embrace it!🥰

What a beautiful family, my family did the reverse of what you did. We packed up and left everything behind in London in the mid 70’s. You are definitely right about how much traveling can open up your mind. It opens your eyes to new opportunities and will make you aware and appreciate what makes you happy. I feel you man. I totally feel you. I lived almost 11 years in Canada - Toronto only and now I am already 2 weeks back in my home country of Bulgaria for absolutely the same reasons - Family. Only 1 difference - my job was a dream and ironclad. I never lost it, I was working to the last moment almost. My heart was bleeding I had to leave it to return where I need to start again. Now I am looking for a job, finished quarantine just 2 days ago. Maybe I also need to make similar video sharing my story. Toronto is indeed very expensive, but if you are a big city person, Toronto is a dream. However in a Covid time keeping my son away from grandparents and family - not an option. We are all Canadians as well, so we did not closed the door, Canada is wonderful and Toronto is amazing, but I don't have the lifetime remaining to start again 10 times. We'll see. Covid made us rethink the importance of the family for a family with children.

Awww, so glad this video came up in my recommends. I practiced as an RN as a scrub nurse in day surgery, primarily in the ortho theatre. I really do admire and appreciate ortho surgeons, so well done to you on completing your training and starting your career. In late 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Canada for the first time, and totally feel in love with the country. My intention was to go back and visit during spring of 2020, sadly the pandemic hit and I experienced the loss of 3 family members. Then obviously, the government banned non essential international travel. Consider yourself fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend 1 year living and working in Toronto, and also bring able to take your family with you too. So happy you got to experience some of what our country offers before lockdown. And that your son is a Canuck! ❤️. My son is heading to U of T in the fall for his graduate work in engineering. We are looking at cost of living and wow! Thankfully he can swing it with his funding. But compared to the east coast Maritimes and prices... it’s a shock. He will be paying more for his one bedroom or studio then we do for our house mortgage. :). Love your channel. You have a great skill for videography (I’m a photographer and can appreciate the effort). your commentating is nice as well. I Will be following for future videos and adventures. 😀

I'm from Western Canada but a fellow traveller, having spent 5 months in Poland and the year before spent several months travelling through the UK and Ireland. It is fascinating to hear what was happening in Toronto at the beginning of the pandemic in the hospitals there. I wish you and your family the very best and I completely agree - travelling and seeing the world, especially 'living' in the environment for awhile - it really builds character and makes you appreciate the many blessings we all share! It was a well documented tradition, and it was the Black Masters who ferried them, yes their own people who created slavery in the first place to the coastel ports, in their eyes it was just a commercial exchange. It also happened to white all along the south coast of England for the Americas and Most parts of Europe and the Middle East, it was happening all around the World..... just let that sink in for a moment. And why is just one particular group that can't get over it while the rest have..... Strange that ???

I am an Engineer and been living in Canada for the past 13 years. I know how hard it is to move from a country as beautiful and diverse as the UK as that is where I was born an spent the first 40 years of my life. Moving to a different country at such a young age is exciting and a challenge. I have had the advantage of exploring the UK and Europe before I moved to Canada but I still miss it and get home sick. Doctors and Engineers will always be needed in Canada so if you decided to give it a second chance later then you are more than welcome back here. Your training and experience from the UK is world class. You are probably making more money in London as an Orthopedic Surgeon but it is also very expensive to live there. I love Canada and I love my Canadian girlfriend but what I miss the most is the history and culture of the UK and being close to the Ocean.
