The embodiment of Ventus's darkness and separate entity, Vanitas is quite a literal bad boy. It makes sense since he's Ven's dark counterpart, like how Mephiles was Solaris's. This brings the whole concept of yin and yang into a clash given how you can't be whole without one element over another. Yet Vanitas tries to make himself whole with Ventus, who wants nothing to do with him, despite accepting that Vanitas is the way he is up to the very end.

Something to keep in mind is that Vanitas's speech after being defeated was pretty badly translated (among many other things in KH3). His speech in the original Japanese is more about by being the darkness in Ventus's and Sora's hearts it allows them to be pure Light, making them stronger.

Funny enough Vanitas' line in DDD about Sora's heart being a prison when Sora himself isn't the prison implies Vanitas is still alive, but in Ventus as for Ventus Sora's heart is a safe haven, but to Vanitas it's a prison as he's going through double heartception being within a heart that's within another heart and both are hearts of Light until Ventus woke up

To be honest, it wasn't till his helmet came off that I realized the connection. Hearing now, after the reveal, I can tell that they have the same voice actor, especially in kh3, but when I first went through birth by sleep, I never had any idea that his voice actor was familiar due to how low his voice was compared to sora, and how unlike sora he acted. Sora's voice actor does a fantastic job of making not easy to figure this twist out simply by his voice.

Honestly, I'm convinced by the fact that Vanitas stuck to his identity of Darkness so hard at the end of KH3: it means we're going to see him again. KH4 is going to be starting the Lost Masters arc, and- [SPOILERS WARNING] Ventus is actually from the Era of Fairytale: and that whole part of his character has yet to be addressed. That means that, since Vanitas is apart of Ven, and we have yet to explore Ven's past in full yet: we are likely going to see him again as an antagonist. We also have yet to really explore the Embodiment of Darkness that was talking with Maleficent, and had tricked Ven into killing Sterlitzia (plus damaged his heart in the first place), so yeah.... those are all points tied to Ven and Darkness thar could easily tie Vanitas back into the narrative.

The only sad thing is that Vanitas is the only "Sora" we never got play as in any Kingdom Hearts game without mods, which sucks sense he looks like Sora. We've played as Sora, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, Kairi throughout the games even if some are very short like with Kairi or part of an extra mode like Xion with 358/2 days.

Kingdom Hearts Mobile is Hinting. That the Main Bad guy behind all of this is........Darkness. And in the Mobile game he inhabited Ventus Body. So Vanitas aka Darkness could be the Main Bad guy in Kingdom Hearts 4.

Vanitas is my favorite character. I dont even think he's the best per say, and in KH3 he was kinda all over the place. I think he really needs to be redeemed, especially since *spoilers for KH3* . . . . . . . . Xehanort of all people got redeemed. Almost the whole organization and even the main villain got redeemed and not an antagonist that is so close to some of the most central characters. Tragic... honestly...

KhuX shows the origin of Vanitas. It may seem like a edgy joke but… he is actually Darkness, one of the very first 13 Darknesses and I guess took an interest of Ventus because Ven is a pure light which I think is comparable to a princess of heart pure light.

I read a MHA/KH fan fiction in which Vanitas came back from the dead and joined forces with the League of Villains to destroy society. The way they explained his revival made me think that it can be possible to bring Vanitas back as the main antagonist of Kingdom Hearts 4 - or maybe as an anti-hero who fights both the heroes and the villains, occassionally working with the heroes at times. Please resurrect Vani!

Anyway story text that details vanitas's birth and his experiences It mentions that the first thing he ever felt was saddens for being separated from ven. Yeah not sure if Vanitas will continue to exist since he's a combination of Ventus's natural darkness plus one of the 13 willful darknesses. It would be kind of cool if he appeared in 4 to help Sora against M.O.M (imagine him snidely taunting M.O.M by calling him an old friend). and if you ask how he could appear. He and Sora spoke within Ven's heart when he took on the form of a Darkinferno. It could be he attached himself to Sora after the fight (I am the shadow you cast). Also as some have theorized when Sora unlocks all those Keyholes at the end of REmind. He is technically in possession of the X blade meaning he might have unlocked the key hole for the data world containing 4 of the remaining darknesses.

I always considered Vanitas the "Evil Ranger" of BBS, due to being a villain who wears a motorcycle helmet with a full-body suit. I oftentimes call BBS trio by association "The core team" since they've all got suits like that too. Plus, I love Power Rangers. Vanitas is an awesome villain too. I hope he returns.

A great video, and you explained exactly why I don't want him to come back or worse to be redeemed. The guy is the embodiment of negativity, toying with everyone and being a merciless psycho. At the end of the line, he refused to reconcile with Ventus and stood his ground on his worldview. Redeeming him would be mega out of character of him since he prooved to have zero wants of change, zero empathy for anything and thus zero redeeming qualities. He is a great villain, Ventus perfect nemesis and create a interesting inverted contrast of the conflict of Sora and Roxas. Making a good guy as he does not have any good intentions would just ruin the character.

I mean, i see it a bit diferent, like, on attitude and actions? Yeah, super bad boy and we love him for it. But his goals and points of view are alwasy so 'positive' technically, merging back with Ventus cause obliviously they are the same they have to get back together (If it helps the old coat then thats that), or in the end when he exclaims he is darkness but he expliciltly portraits it as it being a good thing for getting him close to his self proclaimed brothers, like everyone i see interpretates Ventus as angry and dissapointed at him on KHIII but i see him frustrated, as Vanitas refuses to get alway from that notion of "being your dakrness i'm closer to you than phisicaly being by your side" and all that. Don't know maybe i'm just hopeful or something XD

Funny thing is, this guy tipped me off towards the master of masters actually being connected to the darkness. I dunno if he's this being of light, but he's definitely connected to the darkness. As you pointed out, several keyblades have the eye of the master. Vanitas', Riku's, Xehanort's and even Terra's Chaos Ripper Keyblade all share the eye of the master. All these keyblades are "dark" keyblades. All their users connected to darkness in some manner. It's like the Master of Masters is constantly "watching from the shadows" so to speak. I don't know if it is to "watch the dark side" more closely or because he is affiliated to the dark side. Doesn't really sound like a "light side technique" to rip out your eye and place it in a dark sword to watch everything going on. Not to mention how there's so many eyes either.

I'll be honest. Vanitas/darkness most likely moved from Ventus to sora. Mainly because "Darkness." Tells sora in remind ven is to pure. Pure people can be careless. Now if "Darkness." Was still in ventus ventus would not be pure. And when ventus clashes with kh3 vanitas we see they have the same reaction as in bbs. Meaning ventus is indeed still pure the voice in remind didnt come from ventus's heart. It came from Sora's meaning. Now, Vanitas/Darkness and Sterlizia are in the same place once again.

@@charactersin-depth3472 It's pretty hard to explain, because it has a lot to do with background coding and such, usually it has to do with topics and tags and then the youtube bots "distributes" the videos in people's recommended. But it's really flawed, hence why many people has been complaining about it over the years. If it worked correctly, your videos would have around over 10 000 views or past that, but the bot is stupid, so they end up with 1k because they don't end up in people's pages.
