Danny Vega is back with another mind blow for you. Did you know that Castro liked to end every speech with the phrase "Socialism or death," meanwhile he lived like a billionaire?? Meanwhile the average Cuban's salary is $20?? Do you see where we're going with this? Watch and prepare to have your mind blown.

I'm from Uruguay and the best eye surgeons we have are cubans. They didn't escape in a boat, they were sent by the cuban goverment. My 80 year old neighbour, a sweet lady, manage to recover what she had left of her sight thanks to those doctors. It's not bullshit, as you americans think. On a side note, Castro is in no way a good person. I don't mourn nor celebrate his death. But if there is one thing worse than having a cuban dictator is having an american dictator. Every nation in the world has the right to rule themselves, even if they choose wrong. The cubans beat the spanish, then the americans... are you telling me that Castro was too much for them? Don't like Castro? Get rid of him, don't go asking the U.S. to do it for you.

That doesn't apologize Fidel Castro for the heinous crimes he has committed against Cuba. And those Cuban surgeons in your country are basically white-coat slaves _(esclavos de bata blanca)_ who are paid an underrated and laughable wage by the Cuban monopolistic State and are sent to Latin America in order to increase Cuban socialism's popularity in those countries and use them like they've used Venezuela. - Sincerely, a random Cuban guy 😉

>Lanky Alpaca Those you call "worms" are people that chose to leave their homeland before being brutalized, prosecuted and often tortured (for not mentioning murdered) for simply disagreeing with disgusting tyrant Fidel Castro. Mexicans, Uruguayans, Spaniards, Chileans, Colombians, Argentinians leave their country and criticize their leaders openly and that's considered normal, but when a Cuban does it with even more reasons to do so, then they're called "worms," because apparently a lot of assholes assume that Cubans don't have the same rights and are just slaves to Castro dictatorship. Well, you know what? Call us "worms". It's not even an insult. That honorable animal has more dignity than you and all the garbage that attempts to offend us using that word.

He obviously wasn't perfect. Many people left Cuba because the wanted more economic freedom. Do you know how many people have died in the desert crossing he US Mexico border? More, than the Cubans died in the ocean trying to get to Florida. Does that make all the past Mexican Presidents dictators no it doesn't. Many Cubans said they were political refugees just to get asylum but they just wanted to come to America like everyone else. So saying that your parents or grandparents left Cuba doesn't mean they were actually suppressed.

This is so stupid it's not even funny. Mexicans leave due to government corruption and drug cartel control. They have a democracy so the president can hardily be blamed. Fidel Castro had COMPLETE CONTROL of Cuba. He used that control to execute people who had the audacity to disagree with him. They weren't suppressed, they were extinguished.

I don't know what's the buzz about Castro; I lived in Cuba for like ten years and it was just like any other country (with upsides: the tap water is the best I've ever tasted, their ice-creams were delicious, all the children I met were educated and I never saw panhandling on the streets nor starving people, etc. And downsides: there were shortages of power and transport but you have to consider that they couldn't trade freely with any country AKA: no toothpaste, electrical parts, canned food, fuel, pencils, paper, medicines, paint, cement, etc.) Bottom line: If they had commerce just like other country at the time they would be better than most Latin American nations.

Hi I’m quite curious to learn more about this I’m Mexican-American and just heard about this. I have heard that Castro was the worst and that Cuba was in such a horrible sate, but I have also heard that Cuba was fine and Castro wasn’t the worst ever. Can you explain pls?
@COCOANGEL1000

I can't seem to understand how tap water and ice cream being delicious out weigh there not being any electricity and there being immense food shortages. Castro and his regime stripped Cuba away from technology and isolated the island to live in complete and utter ignorance. Despite education being free in Cuba, there is no hope to progress and no hope to attain success and overcome the conditions that surround you. Yes, people are educated and go to school but they are forced to live with blind folds, holding no knowledge of the outside world, (which is honestly the worst thing that any government can do to their people). And while all of this goes on, the Cuban government lives comfortably. Hopefully, I've explained "all of the buzz over Castro" and hopefully now you understand

@danicoleb5394 7 жыл бұрын
Subscriptions That's what I'm saying! People who despise Castro never take into account how Batista was a puppet for America. Castro gained prominence because he was supposed to free Cuba from America's economic grip. The problem is Castro got too big for his britches and let power go to his head. In theory had good intentions but his actions failed as he got more and more controling. It's not a simple black and white answer to say Castro was good or bad. You have to consider the history of this country, America's involvement and their imperialist agenda, and Fulgencio Batista before making any comment on Castro. Yes, some positive things have happened such as healthcare, education and the arts. They are well known for having a long-living population, a decent education that garned a 98% literacy rate and global recognition for its art particularly dance like ballet. You could question statistics but I dare people to take a closer look at who conducted these reports and how they were conducted THEN make your assumption on whether or not they're factual. Don't just denounce them simply because this guy told you to. These three points are proof that in some cases he may have helped but in others like food rations, freedom of speech and press, jobs he simply failed at. He's a very complex character and I love learning about my country, why my own grandparents left and how Castro came to power but no one seems to seek out knowledge except YT videos, social media memes and US propaganda (which we all know the US is very good for... they try to simplify a complex situation into "US = Good and everyone else = Bad" in order to gather mass support from the public).
@danicoleb5394
@danicoleb5394 7 жыл бұрын
Subscriptions And I also want to say that a lot of political ideologies sound good in theory but in practice they're always subpar because nearly everyone gets consumed with power and writes shit off at their whim. Just because he failed to fully implement socialism doesn't mean that socialism is evil or bad. That's your American propaganda speaking up. Capitalism certainly ain't the best political-economic ideology and I'm sure we've already seen (especially in this recent election) how that's working out for us.

And most of that death toll were his supporters killed by the previous dictatorship. His US backed predecessor killed 400% more in 15% of the time. The US supports at this very moment, 2/3 of the world's dictatorships. Thats why Castro was so popular. Pinochet is more comparable to Argentinians dictators (extreme right ideology) while Castro had a left ideology. Most of Latin America's dictatorships were planned by the US government (look up for Operación Cóndor and The National Security Doctrine) to erradicate communist ideas, killing and torturing thousands of people that wanted a better country and a better world. US government murdered Salvador Allende, democraticly elected Chilean president, just because he was openly socialist. Then, Pinochet took power. Do your reaserch.

Both had benefits and massive disadvantages, and what unifies them is brutal dictatorship.

This guy represents the views of Latinos/Cubans who live in America, pretty much. There are literally millions of people in Latin America who think differently--Castro's violence and authoritarianism shouldn't be condoned, but he represents anti-imperialism for a large portion of the Latin American population. Also, I find it funny how this video neglects to mention that the Batista regime before Castro (which was sponsored by America) was, in many ways, much worse than the Castro regime. So in conclusion, with this particular leader, one-sided arguments don't really cut it.

I had no idea Fidel Castro had so many fans in the free world. I can even understand supporters of Mao Tse-Tung and I am a supporter of Vladimir Lenin, but Castro is the revolutionary who made everything go to Hell during his own administration. Party999999 (spelling?), a self-professed communist on Deviant Art whose work I sometimes like, needs to watch this video. I had a teacher from Cuba and am pretty sure that my mother taught refugees from Cuba, and they have said what some idealists need to accept: life in Cuba under Fidel Castro has SUCKED.

I think what everyone needs to understand is that the world is not black and white. It's not as simple as Fidel Castro being good or evil. All the terrible things he did does not take away from all the good he did, however on the contrary, all the good things he did does not diminish all the terrible things he did. What the world needs to do is look at Cuba and learn. Take all the good things from that situation and leave the bad. Like it or not, Castro proved that it is possible to have a universal healthcare and education system. Like others have said before, Cuba is one of the healthiest and most educated countries in Latin America, and arguably the world. Unfortunately in the case of Cuba this was achieved through dictatorship and authoritarianism. Had Fidel and his ideas been democratically elected, I could imagine Cuba would have a political and economic situation similar of northern European nations such as Norway, Finland, and Sweden. I would like to remind everyone before they reply to this comment, I am not defending nor attacking Fidel, all I am saying is that we have to LEARN from Cuba and it's story.
@juliovicsilvaaray

@@Steven-gg1bn Universal Healthcare is the first step, my friend, I can assure you that. It was the first step in Venezuela as it was in Cuba, next thing you know is that the government owns everything that you need to survive, in the end they own you. PD. Venezuela's healthcare is managed and operated by cubans, that doesn't stop dozens of people from dying of diarrhea in Caracas just like it happens in Cuba.

there needs to be a massive re-evaluation about what "quality of life" means. wealth is NOT quality of life. there is no such this as a homeless cuban, or a cuban w/o access to health care. cuban care about each other and have a society that doesn't equate wealth w/ success. castro eliminated illiteracy in almost a generation. all the while having the economic and military power for the US 90 miles away. they wanted castro to fail, but he manage to help foster a beautiful people and society, w/ values much different than the US.

I'm Venezuelan, I can say I have lived in democracy only half of my life, the other half is just pure shit (socialism, communism) I understand that ideologically socialism is awesome, but in reality, when you give all the power only to the goverment the corruption increases inevitably. To all praising Fidel: You have no idea what is like to live in communism, and the one who support him and have lived in communism: you probably dont know anything else besides that. Unfortunally, Fidel made a huge mark in Cuba because communism like that only wants its people to be poor and ignorant, so they dont rebel. After 50 years of communism, there is practically no one there that remembers what is like not living under a dictatorship. I hope that doesnt happen in my country
