I love how he unknowlingly contradicts himself thorough whole video.

intelligence and morality not the same why you think intelligent life wont destroy other life

In fact, intelligent life would be more likely to destroy other life as they understand the danger other species can pose.

1:20 your reply demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of what was just said. We aren't looking at a grain of sand, we are looking at the entire known universe and given that rate of galactic colonization, the age and size of the universe, we should see some sign of ET life, but we don't. 7:58 it's a hypothetical... He isn't saying aliens are definitely more powerful. He's saying the more technologically advance civilization is more powerful and given the size of the universe, extremes in either direction are possible... You should probably actually listen to what's being said.

Look at how he doesn't reply at all, classic case of famous person being embarrassed

I think you should watch the video and listen to the full explanation before deciding you disagree with it. Like I understand where you're coming from bc I used to think in a very similar way. While yes, you are correct that the universe is very big and we've only just begun our search for aliens, the fermi paradox is still a very real thing. We do have telescopes that can see all throughout the galaxy. And just like it said in the beginning, given our current understanding of life and civilization, there should be alien empires spanning huge sectors of the galaxy. But if this was true, we would 100% see the impact of a civilization that powerful. For example, megastructures are a very common assumption of a technology that an advanced civilization would have. A megastructure, as in a structure around the size of a planet. We would recognize a megastructure in a telescope because we know what qualities it would have, and we can tell what distant objects are made of, so we would be able to tell if there was a large object completely made of steel or something. And yet, we have never seen anything like this. Throughout the entire galaxy, we have not seen a single megastructure, only planets and stars that have thorough explanations for their creation. This is the Fermi Paradox. not that "there aren't intelligent species out there" but "there is 100% intelligent species out there, and there should even be galactic scale civilizations out there, but we see no evidence of a civilization of that scale" and so there are many theories on why that might be. I consider this solution, the "Dark Forest Solution" of the Fermi Paradox, to be the most probable of the solutions. It's not that there aren't advanced civilization out there, but that they can't risk revealing themselves, or it could start an intergalactic war.

@@L3WGReactsYour reaction was extremely ignorant, no offense. First you say "WHY ARE ALIENS SO SUPERIOR?" He never said that? He said that the more advanced civilization would win. It is very possible we might be the massacring aliens. Second point: you continue asking why aliens would be annihilating each other in the dark forest. This shows your ignorance, as the video explains it a few times. The reason is that intelligent species would most likely have the weapons to rid of one another, so it's safer to just annihilate potential threats than it is to sit in the open waiting to be killed. I hope you aren't that stupid.
