its between this one and the "lock on top" (key lock) kind he said not to get....Im in Ca so I don't have to worry about it freezing, but the fact you can pop up the lock handle on the top and use it to slide the cover open/close without having to open your tailgate is a bonus as far as im concerned.

I’m sold, I just bought one based on your video. It’s really cold right now where I live, and I don’t have a garage to work in so I may wait until we get closer to spring to install it. I definitely like the simplicity of it. I don’t care for the retractable‘s that have a lock on top, I just see that being problematic down the road. I have no problem opening up my tailgate and manually pushing mine open.

During a rain storm next to nothing gets in. Now if I go through a car wash just the very back at the tailgate gets wet and that’s because I don’t have any weatherstripping around the sides of the tailgate. But other people have different experiences with this cover. Mine has been great! I’m still very pleased with it.

How’s this compare to Retrax with ball bearing slide sides. The company has great product and warranty. I’m getting discussed buying a product then not having support.

I bought the most expensive Retrax aluminum retractable cover...total shit . The rail has really no inner lip to channel the water to the canister. It has a worthless "lifetime warranty " because the fuckers don't stand behind it at all. All they offered was an installation guide as if I didn't know how to read and it install it initially. It leaks excessively and their response is well they're "water resistant " . I now have a $2200. cover that doesn't keep my cargo dry.

Roll cover open, use tie downs in your truck bed and a ratchet strap. Easy peasy.

You can secure things all the way up against the box as well. I would just recommend putting some sort of padding so that you don’t scratch the coat.

What is the length on that Ebike? I have electric dirt bike that is about 5'8" in length and i have the2018 F150 short bed. I am hoping if I kick the tire over I can fit it in.

Do they make cross bars that work with this style of cover? I have one in this style love it, but would love to add some storage on top as well. It doesn't have the groove that others do.

It was not designed with this in mind. But you can disassemble it. I would advise you having pretty strong, mechanical know how if you’re going to do that, though this would also not be recommended by the manufacturer and would probably void the warranty with the mechanism if they knew you had opened it.

A folding cover is far superior in my opinion. You lose much less of your bed when it is full open. And this rolling one you are actually losing space in the bed, below the rails, due to the box where the cover retracts into. With a folding cover you retain 100% of your bed space below the rails.

A folding cover you will lose rear view if fully open and has a lot of exposed seals, on the sides and between the flaps that needs to be replaced within months if you live in a hot weather and they are not cheap.
