I swear to God, some actors do not understand that they are there to play a part. There are some good tales of actors changing a story for the better. Matthew Perry refusing to have Chandler cheat on Monica, Edward Norton refusing to have Derrick shave his head at the end, and I’m sure many more. But to show up to a QT movie and think you’re gonna change the theme of a vengeance story to a romance….. dude. In what universe?

@xanderbroad1434
@xanderbroad1434 4 ай бұрын
@@LyrykDaDon No one thinks either of them suck as actors. However they didn’t get their by writing their own scripts. The only thing the rock produces successfully is the same action feel-good character every time. Which is fine, he’s openly said that. He has a process for cash and it works. However when you step into the Tarantino realm, you don’t tell someone of that creative caliber to change the script. If Samuel L Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Brad Pitt, and countless other A-C list actors have just shut up and did the script under him, Will Smith can shut up and do the same. Especially considering he has the acting range to do so. Dwayne is a one trick pony in Hollywood, as much as I think Will has made himself look like a clown over the 5 years or so, his acting range is pretty impressive. Or was for a long time.

@@skankytrick my point is that two people trying to reconcile creative differences isn't some *audacious* thing, it's just normal business practice. Sometimes it works out and they find ways to make the final project better together, while sometimes it doesn't...but what you oftentimes don't want is people signing up for projects they don't understand and agree with the vision on just because they can. Kinda hard to bring your best effort to a project if your take on it isn't aligned, otherwise they're just a zombie on autopilot collecting a paycheck and the work suffers. In the eyes of tons of people, it's not so obvious just how remarkably collaborative the filmmaking process can be. It's oftentimes not as simple as the screenplay and the director's initial vision being set in stone.
