I mean, he doesn’t really have a healing factor. He gets his cells that get injured replaced with dead cells and cancer cells but as soon as those cells die, they get replaced so he’s basically a decomposing corpse at all times that keeps getting replaced.

I guess it makes sense that pain would operate similarly to fear. If somebody makes a habit of jumping up and scaring you every time you round a corner, eventually it won't be scary so you'd just be annoyed by it. Assuming pain operates similarly, both being a mechanism for humans to avoid pain, injury, and death, it would make sense that repeated painful stimuli that doesn't lead to either of those would eventually cease to be painful, like the Shaolin Monks who can get kicked in the balls or punch a tree and not feel it cause they expose themselves to it until the pain is irrelevant

He is soooo used to feeling pain everytime he pops his claws that he used to it In Bersek Rage he is completely immune to it The regeneration process also increases the speed of processes the body uses in the healing such as endorphin production to mitigate pain reducing the amount of time and severity the subject feels discomfort leading to an increased pain threshold. Other processes included are the production of adrenaline and the fight or flight response which are greatly extended by the increased recovery leading to increased physical performance as the subject gains elevated strength and energy while also able to push their bodies harder due to decreased sensation of pain.

that explains why I'll sometimes notice scabbed up scars on my body and be confused because I don't recall scratching myself, which tells me I didn't even feel it when it happened. I mysteriously scratch myself so much that now my brain knows it's nothing and thus my pain receptors don't go off. Looked in the mirror this morning and saw fresh scars on my forehead to my confusion lol. Also explains our desensitivity to flu shots as we get older.

Given your information, I believe overtime he stopped feeling as much pain after every time he was shot, stab, or whenever he took his claws out. He's about 150 years old and I'm pretty sure some of the wort things he had to endure like the metal skeleton, losing limps, brain injuries, and pepper spray in his eyes (look it up) hurt like hell and beyond the first times he wound through that and overtime his body didn't respond as the one of a normal person would like you say. I still think he does still feel pain to some degree specially with some of the most extreme injuries like nuclear bombs or burning his eyes out and perhaps he says some small stuff hurt either because he wants others to underestimate him, he does feel pain but is more of an annoyance than a problem, or he reacts that way as a reflect like when some people bump into a wall or something and they say ow or something not because it hurts but as a reflect.

I actually just thought about this a month ago. If Logan did feel pain, it would be unnecessary. Pain is meant to alert of serious injury but nothing is serious for Logan. You’re suggesting that Logan developed CIPA which is extremely dangerous in real life.

1: My condolences for your condition, hope you don't have to suffer to much. 2: You do know Wolverine does feel pain every time he is harmed at all. We literally see him in pain in every single scene you mentioned. Hell Wolverine actually has spoken multiple times about how painful all his situations are, it's a known fact Wolverine is just very willed, so he does have a mental breakdown.
@NeedleMouseProductions
@NeedleMouseProductions 7 ай бұрын
Oh I know they show him in pain in films, TV and comics, but this video is about what wolverine would actually be like in real life, playing by the same rules and laws of physics as the rest of us. In real life his mind would not bother with pain signals, or at least only send very, very low pain signals. After all when you heal instantly and are basically immortal pain has very little use. And for the most part it just wouldn't be necessary for wolverine to feel pain. As he more or less can't be fatally wounded. But you are right it is shown that way in media, although I'd still say he shows no where near as much pain as he should be showing for the wounds he takes

If you don't mind me asking, did doctors ever give an actual name/diagnosis to your condition? I only ask because it sounds exactly like a condition I've had for the past 14 years yet my doctors haven't been able to diagnose it or even find the cause for my constant pain
@NeedleMouseProductions
@NeedleMouseProductions 7 ай бұрын
My diagnosis is Functional Neurological Disorder, or FND, very few doctors are familiar who aren't specialists, I'd had it for 11 years before I got the diagnosis. But if you're permanently in pain too then I recommend looking into 'Ketamine Infusion Therapy' it can stop the pain completely. I only found out about a few weeks ago and I'm actually getting the the treatment myself in 2 weeks, it's apparently 50/50 odds on whether it'll work so it could really help you. There's also an FND support group on Facebook if you want to compare notes on your condition with others. Hope this info helps.

That sounds terrible to deal with NeedleMouse. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. But I understand that pain isn't always an automatic process from personal experience. I don't know why, but my seizure medication has a weird side effect for me of lessened pain response in limbs to some injury types (it's for Epilepsy, so that's why I take that medication). That's despite that not being a noted side effect on the medication bottle - it's a weird individual one that so far, I haven't met anyone else on that medication with said side effect. That only started after I got back on that medication from a break through and after a few weeks of my legs, hand, and feet going on-and-off numb. I know it's not all pain types because I do keep self-notes on which pain types still hurt. Really was useful as an ability while working in the Digital Shopping department in retail because of just how common: paper cuts, cardboard cuts, metal cuts, and lifting injuries can be. Seriously, I'd end up bleeding on some customers' order by accident for a solid 10-plus minutes sometimes because I accidentally cut myself on a metal shelf and didn't realize it at all for a bit. Luckly, I haven't broken a bone despite that since I'm smart enough to wear protective clothing (like steel-toed boots) to work as needed. Through, I'm not sure I can completely recommend due to occasionally not realizing something can be dangerous by unintentionally doing something that could could cause an injury that ends up making a joint stiff for three days afterwards. That and/or literally ending up doing something that if you didn't wear protective gear could actually crush some smaller body parts (dropping a 100+ pound grill on your foot won't crush your toes with steel-toed boots on - especially if you're a woman that's under 130 pounds yourself. It will end up bruising your foot through, so 0 out of 10 experience, anyway. Even through I managed to lift that grill off my foot and keep going at work that day). Sure, science may say what you're saying in a case like Wolverine's X-Men, but it partly would be dependent on the individual's neurology, when, and how this happened. Most of those people you're talking about with 0 pain literally either never felt it to my understanding. If it's due something that came later in life, (let's say past age 20 for an estimate because of all mutants having their abilities come with puberty), that could alter it to a lessened-pain situation rather no pain situation. This is because many of the brain-bits related to pain and/or survival probably would already be mostly set up.
@NeedleMouseProductions
@NeedleMouseProductions 3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry you had to go through all that, I suppose the silver lining is that it does give you a rather unique perspective on this. And you have a good point, those who are Cipa can't feel pain and never have. Where as Wolverine's pain response would be set up by the time his powers kick in. But you do have to bear in mind that our brain does keep learning (no where near as much as it does when we're babies or toddlers, that's true, but it does keep learning) and since wolverine is hurt in so many different and violent ways nearly every day it would end up effecting his pain response. Think of an adrenaline junkie who keeps chasing a high by base jumping, only to find that he feels less and less excitement with each jump and so he needs to go higher and higher and go into more dangerous activities to feel the same high. It's the same basic idea. the way our bodies respond to situations is set up, but it does still adapt to our day to day lives. It's all to increase our chances of survival, we have to adapt to survive. I literally have exercises designed to teach my body to feel less pain that I have to do each day, and they work over a period of months. The same would be true of Wolverine; his body would learn that injuries are not worth sending pain signals and may even be healed before the signal could even be sent (he does heal crazy quick in some continuities) but in fairness this is all theoretical and it is just my own opinion. But I honestly think it is scientifically sound from what the pain specialists have said to me and from what I've experienced myself.

He does, but that is just to add to the drama of the scene and make the character relatable to us as the audience. We couldn't understand him if he didn't feel pain after all as we have no concept of that. I'm just talking about if this was a real ability and not a fantasy. And in the real world his pain response should logically be so low that he basically can not feel pain at all.
