Regardless of there being no actual real world Force, even if New Age or Eastern Religions weren't decoying people or making their capacity to find anything resembling "balance" a hopeless conundrum, there's very nearly no one in 2024 capable of achieving anything like it. 15/8,025,000,000 is VERY nearly no one! 99% of people are so corrupt they would rather support the perversion whereby marriage and gender were "redefined" and "go along to get along" than to stand up and Fight for Principle. So, for 99% of all living people, achieving anything approximating has been taken right off the table and is almost certainly never going to become possible again. I mean, speaking of Jedi and ideals...

For everyone questioning Yoda, here's some fun context to consider. 1) Yoda's species were incredibly long lived, meaning he kept getting more and more set in his ways a views. 2) Dooku mentioned Yoda becoming corrupt, which Yoda did, just not evil as we consider. He spent centuries on the High Council, and much of that time also as Grandmaster, which leads to point 3. 3) Yoda as Grandmaster was venerated and respected for his wisdom, wisdom of centuries that was rightfully looked to. But that also meant few of any ever challenged him. Yoda himself recognized the Jedi's downfall was primarily his own fault because of how he had ran things

I’ve always thought Qui Gon’s trust and skill in following the Force to go where it led him was arguably the biggest threat to Palpatine’s machinations. This knack for showing up in the right place, at the right time, was something that Luke seemed to be a master of in the EU.

I almost find it poetic on how these two powerful Jedi Masters have different view points on the Force itself yet it is Qui-gon’s point of view that is correct path that one must embrace changes of the cosmos and focus on the now rather than the future. While Yoda, at times, chooses to always look to the future and the cosmic outlook of the force instead of changing the view of the Jedi. This is why Sidious said one must embrace the larger view of the force and not the boring dogma of the Jedi which had aloud the corruption to happen under their watch.

From my perspective, the cosmic force is like the energy that makes lots of dynamic changes and has lots of ebs and flows as it moves through Jedi and Sith alike making it very unpredictable and vast so anyone who looks upon it will be uncovering all kinds of secrets and uniqueness about the world at heart. The living force is the being that communicates directly with each Jedi and Sith to draw closer or repel each and every individual it comes in contact with. It makes its presents known to all force users to guide them to whatever they want and need and to help them achieve balance within themselves. The cosmic force is the power and the energy while the living force is the "person" itself. The living force uses the cosmic force to do it's will but the living needs the power of the cosmic to get things done. It's like Yoda focused on the creation and Qui-Gon focused on the creator. There is wisdom in both sides but in a way sacrilegious to pick one side over the other. The cosmic force will give you an abundance of knowledge and insight but the living force will teach you how to use it. I don't think Qui-Gon disregarded the cosmic force even though he sided more with the living force but Yoda over the years DID disregard the living force to only deal with the abundance of the cosmic force for his own bureaucratic reasons. That's why in my opinion Yoda failed the Jedi Order. It's surprising how he lived through the Golden age of the Jedi but still ended up over the years diminishing and forgetting what made the High Republic the best time to be a Jedi. This is just my take on this.

This is why i think Qui Gon is wiser than we give him credit. Yoda says be mindful of the future. Qui Gon said be present. None of us truly know our end besides death. Where will we be buried what will claim our life or when it will. Yoda's scope 900 years old death would be an old friend to come to claim another friend. If you apply Qui Gons teachings you relax and become fare less anxious knowing the future is always in motion your actions are you own. If you listen to yoda your actions mean not.

The living force as you explain it here is incredibly similar to every instance of the dark sides tendency to "whisper" and tempt people into being opportunistic, conniving and violent. I am willing to say that Sidious, maybe more so than any other dark sider, also listens to the inclinations of the living force except that it's message is twisted by his own greed and inner darkness and THAT is what the difference is for a Sith and a Jedi like Qui Gon. I can only imagine how many times Qui Gon was told "STRIKE HIM DOWN" by the living force, in a rough moment, and I admire how many times we can know that qui gon found a better way. I would argue that this similarity between Sidious and Qui Gon in how they relate to the force, is precisely why Sidious said Qui Gon was so incredibly dangerous to the Sith grandplan and why he had Qui Gon killed. Also, I sincerely believe that Anakin also followed the will of the living force, but that the demands of the clone wars made it impossible for him to resist the darker whispers of that aspect of the force. Truly THE jedi of all Jedi.

I know, for sure, that if I was a Jedi in the same era as the Chosen One and even around the same age, the Jedi I would see as wise teachers and role models are Masters Qui-Gon and Dooku. My personal beliefs right now align with the philosophy of the Living Force, but I take it a step further and see the Living Force as an Omnipotent entity, like a god outside of the Star Wars Universe. The Living Force has a Will and it is our responsibility as servants of the Force to submit and embrace its Will. As a Jedi Knight, I would be a Consular with the job specialization of a Seer because of my close relationship with the Living Force. Such a strong relationship and commitment to submit to the Will of the Living Force allows me to see vivid visions, signs, and dreams that even the Masters of the Council have trouble understanding. I would see Masters like Dooku and Qui-Gon as true messengers of the Living Force as well as Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee because of the influence by the Chosen One for Ahsoka and high spirituality for Barriss. I also see Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, as the final messenger of the Living Force as he is the embodiment of the Living Force due to him being conceived by the Midi-Chlorians. I would see a vivid and clear vision of Order 66 before the Clone Wars begins and the Living Force would compel me to remain silent because the Council is neither ready nor worthy to hear such visions as they would deem them as heresy. I would see events leading up to Order 66 as signs to the inevitable, such as Anakin reluctantly given a seat on the Council but denied the rank of Master. I don’t rebel against the Force regarding these matters because I fully trust in its greater wisdom and clairvoyance. Before Order 66 is executed, I escape the Jedi Temple and become a refugee to avoid the Great Jedi Purge. I wonder if this would be an amazing fan fiction I could write about based on my passion and understanding of Star Wars. I hope to hear all of y’all’s thoughts, comments, etc. If I hear from The Stupendous Wave and his thoughts, I would be very honored.

Qui Gon's death itself may have been the will of the Force in that had he lived he may have salvaged the Jedi Order by training Anakin. It wanted the elimination of both the old guard Jedi Order and the Sith and nudged for the outcome that would deliver that outcome.

Yoda knew it would reshape the Jedi & he'd gotten too comfortable in his old age (assuming we equate his 8-9 centuries to our 8-9 decades). If he'd spent a little more time meditating on the really important stuff, he might've just had shatterpoint-esque breakthrough in understanding that would've allowed the Jedi to defeat Sidious. Still probably would've led to the reformation of a Jedi Order in a Republic more like what Luke created in the GA - more separated politically. Now that I think of it, also more like the Order prior to the Ruusan Reformation.

The Jedi Order had become a religion, much as real world religions like Catholicism. They have rules and regulations, restrictions and things not allowed, that were created not by the Force (God) but by the jedi council (human priests) in an effort to control, instead of following the lead of the Divine. Qui-Gon was more Christ-like in denouncing the religious leaders as blind hypocrites in an effort to follow the Force itself. He was just less direct than Jesus, whose mission was a) real and b)time sensitive.
