I am an Inter fan and I can say this tactic is only effective in Serie A because this league is very focused on tactics. If the coach says to mark a certain player then it will actually continue to be marked until it is finished . This is the basic of Inzaghi's crazy position switch tactic to disguised opponent marking and create a space

I followed Juventus's team from the late 90's and watched the forward trident of Zidane/Del Piero/Inzaghi. Naturally, I was interested to see what his brother Simone was like. Unlike Guardiola and Conte, never would I have guessed that he would become a good innovative manager. Happy to see it.
@lontongstroongАй бұрын
Limone was quite similar to his older brother in terms of playing style - that one-touch play strikers that hang around opponent's offside trap. It's just he wasn't as ecstatic as his older bro. He was tall at that time period for a striker (Limone was 185-186 cm, Pippo around 5 cm shorter) but not as strong as his height suggests, although he often used that this height advantage to his favor.

Everything here makes so much sense. It's almost natural if you get it. Like if you know your teammates you almost don't even have to explain what the next move is if you understand the basic concept. But as an opposing player who is in the middle of it, it's difficult to realize at least for a split second who is coming at you and what they are trying to exploit until it's too late.

Hansi do buildups too but he depend on how his opponent plays. What differentiate Hansi from other coaches is that he uses multiple tactics to achieve one single goal like launching of offensive attack, when his opponent press high he either uses pivots to help or number 10 player to assist in receiving the ball or he use flanks to attacks by his fullbacks. If opponent doesn't to do pressings, Hansi wants his CBs to launch long balls either to number 10 or one of his front attackers. By the way Hansi prefer one of his CBs to be right footed(RCB) and LCB to be left footed.

Ruben Amorim has a similar tactic but the two wingers and number 10’s. His center backs at sporting were good w the ball on their feet. Wingers always out wide giving a pass option. The two midfielders always center giving pass options. The number 10s dropping down to break lines and release on the wingers or switch sides.

What's the difference between relationism and total football? the total football played by the Netherlands and Ajax teams of Renus Michels played the same way with fluid positions where you would see Johan Cruyff come down all the way to the CB position and you would see CB's play as strikers, wingers play as midfielders and defenders, etc. and with the goalie playing like a CB at times? Is relationism just a part of the whole total football style?

As an attacker knowing who ur man is makes it so much easier to mark and notice when ur in the wrong position or whatever, if suddenly u see a different man close to u you’ll panic and think where’s my man and you’ll start looking around confused, even if u know this is their tactic it can mess up up cus ur teammate might follow their man to their new position and leave someone free or if they let them run they’ll be available for a pass in space momentarily
@rim711524 күн бұрын
It seems like zonal marking just shuts this down though. Instead of worrying about the opponent, just hold your shape and you'll have the favourable matchup (eg. Your cb defending their cb who is shooting). Hold formation, show them the wing, and don't over press the defensive ball player. Do those 3 things, and the other teams constant switching probably turns into more of a liability

This is a flexible tactic indeed, however the problem with Inter is they don't have real playmaker who can break enemy last defensive line. This create too much dependancy on the tactic and less creativity on the attack especially when facing discipline or low block back line defense.
