If it’s one thing I learned while doing YT for a few years is your audience appreciates transparency and feeling like they can get to know you as a person! It’ll be great seeing you on YT more. Honestly, the future of TT is up in the air anyway. I’ll watch any content you’d like to share Ralph. 😊

Bravo Ralph. What I've discovered in working on all these platforms is that there's different audiences looking for different things. Some people like the quick ASMR short form, while others love long tutorial type formats. So I believe you're tapping into all of that and no one will fault you for focusing on one over another. And, imho, it didn't sound at all as if you were "airing your grievances." Rather you were being transparent in your current status. 😊

I will try here and there! KZbin has a 1 minute cap on Shorts and all my tiktok/instagram reels are typically 2-3 minutes so it's difficult to repurpose here. I'll see what I can do though!

Ironically, I was just wondering a couple of days ago, "What happened to Ralph? I haven't seen a YT video from him in quite a while." I'm already a subscriber here, and the whole time you were talking I was holding my breath that you might say you were forgetting YT and only doing Instagram and Tik Tok. I'm very happy that you are not forgetting KZbin because I don't visit those other two venues. Welcome back!!! Looking forward to what you will be creating for us. We love your inspiration! Hi Ralph! KZbin is a fabulous place to build community, so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ve made a good decision! Your demographic is probably different to mine, but having a KZbin channel alongside a Facebook group has worked well for me - I’ve made a fantastic bunch of crafty friends whom I love making videos for. Which brings me to my next point. I'm excited to take the journey with you on these upcoming playful exploration videos where you figure out where your next joy crafting is. But I also want to get to know you as you spoke about in this video being something that's lacking. So when you're shopping for craft supplies, go by the candy aisle and tell us your favorite candy. Or as you're cutting up card elements on a make video, tell us a funny story about your family or if you have any love interests. In crafting there's lots of downtime just to chat especially when you do live creation videos that are not in TikTok fast form. That can be your avenue for your audience to really know you and build the connection I think you might be seeking. You do have a gift with those cards though and obviously video editing. And watching the sounds of the chopping has proved to be therapeutic for me. So I do make it to insta every now and then lol

I might be jumping in too early as I’m only midway through the video, but I was extremely intrigued by your mention of “imposter syndrome.” I’d never heard of that before but I can say this: the best piece of advice I got was from my uncle, an economist for the State of New York. He said to remember that everyone at work feels like a bit of an imposter, like they’re neither ready nor qualified to do the work they’re being asked to do. We all have on various levels sense of inadequacy. So what I did with that advice which came shortly after I graduated from college in the 70s was to just plunge ahead and try to grab what bits and pieces of information I could from various sources to learn what I needed to know and then just to be willing to try And do something and always do it at a level that was higher than expected. You worked in the corporate world so you understand those feelings. The point he was trying to make to me was that everyone is also feeling that too. So don’t let it hold you back. I’m glad you’re back and Online because your content is interesting. You’re fun to watch and you do good work that helps people like me who truly are klutzes to make cards that we can be proud of.

I would love to see anything you do! Don’t box yourself in, play. Creativity is supposed to be about just that. When you don’t give yourself permission to have fun, you end up in a creative slump (mine is more like a creative depression at this point). But I have imposter syndrome as well (not for cardmaking, because I'm not really known, but in my career!), so I totally get that feeling! Hi Ralph! 👋🏻 New Subscriber here!! You popped up on my recommended feed today and I’m so happy that you did. I appreciate your honesty and being so forthright. I’m mom to 4 sons and have 2 grandsons. So you’d fit right in. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to broaden your horizons. I’m a distracted crafter. Meaning I will stick with one or two crafts for a while before jumping into something else, but I will eventually come back around. I’m just beginning junk journals and card making. I’ve done other paper crafting, diamond painting, sewing in general, quilting, cross stitch (my eyes are too old for that now). I’m looking forward to your new content. So glad to hear you're going to do more KZbin longer videos. I follow you on Instagram also, and I do enjoy the ASMR style videos, but I feel like I get more out of longer form content. As for the kinds of videos I'd like to see, my ears perked right up when you mentioned craft store shopping videos. Haha But I also like the idea of videos of you trying new crafts. One of my favorites of your past videos was trying out old craft tools from the craft thrift store (I wish we had a craft supplies thrift store where I live!). Also, have you ever considered collage art? That's my primary interest now, and I'd love to see your take on collaging (my first deep dive into paper crafting was also card making, and I still make the occasional card, but I mostly do collage these days, including the occasional collage on a card).
