Lifestyle. I very highly recommend going to church! My strokes kept me out of church for a short while. (Not physical limitations. The overstimulation that was present. Especially visual) When I began to return, and fight through the overstimulation, I experienced GREAT progress emotionally!

This was purely outstanding... The explanations, the details, all so valuable. I give this a couple of other channels a great deal of credit for assisting so much in my recovery post dual strokes and brain surgery. 🎉 Quite simply, thank you.🎉

This just may have helped to rescue my relationship with my Mom. I could not understand the apathy (and perceived laziness with PT) and felt resentment due to the efforts that I was making on her behalf as a caregiver. To know that there may be a biological reason!! Thank you 🙏🏽

Post stroke depression is very tough to deal with, but also I’ve had depression for about half of my life so I can handle it.

This is perfect timing, especially with the holidays coming up. For me when I lack motivation my body is affected even more. The body follows the mind, when I lack motivation, my body gets tired faster my back hurts and my walk is affected. I try my best to stay positive so my body can perform better., I try to tell myself over and over that I can do this when times get really tough. I think the weather also affects my mood and my body, it's getting colder now and causes spasticity and tone to flare up. Just keep fighting but don't be afraid to express how you feel about things.

Thanks for sharing! I am sure it means a lot to this community that even someone as hardworking and helpful as you are, that you still have down days. I appreciate you sharing how body follows the mind. I think that is a valuable "tool". When all seems hopeless, move. At the very least, you know nothing bad has ever come from just moving your body. Oh, and I can't end without saying how much your weekly comments mean to this community! Your "pearls" of wisdom and experience are helping so many people!

@@rehabhqofficial Thank you! I try to share as much as possible. I'm no stranger to lacking motivation. Moving as much as possible helps a lot, whether it's exercising or just keeping busy around the house. Sometimes I play brain games online, that helps me to focus and strengthen my mind. cross word puzzles, reading books. I may start learning a new language.

Thank you for this. My husband’s stroke was in March and it has been a challenge to get him motivated. Needless to say it was causing issues in our relationship. I started researching and learn this is a real thing and I found a clinical trial being conducted in South Carolina using rtms, and my husband was accepted into the study. He starts December 2 and the whole trial takes about 2 weeks. I am hopeful he has positive results🙏🏽

O look forward to these vids, thx!! I thought you mentioned getting rid of grains from your diet, ate they considered ultra processed?
@rehabhqofficial10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question! Not all grains are necessarily bad but refined grains are probably not necessary :)
