I managed to follow all your steps and I made my new lawn from scratch. Now I have the loveliest, greenest lawn in my estate. Also, I have no weeds or even moss. Thank you for your educational videos.

That's a super compliment, you did the hard work. I only showed you the way. Thank you for sharing

This spring, I had one of the nicest lawns in my neighborhood. This fall, it’s dead and roots are gone. Heat, drought, and the grubs got it. I’m gonna plow it under next spring and start over.

Is there much difference between using the drag mat and a lute? Would it achieve the same result with either?
@Premier_lawns_official15 күн бұрын
They are nearly the same, for a small space or if you want to move a big pile of soil a lute is better If you want to work topdressing into a lawn and it's not small a mat is much better

are you cutting it close for temps with seeding?

There is still a bit of time... Though really like to get all my seeding done for second week in Oct

Rob did you ever hear of the product soil renew for lawns?

Nope 🙅♂️

See at the start of the video and you cut the grass, after the cut, you see that there are some brown/yellow patches, its like at the bottom of the grass is yellow/brown and the top is green. What happening there?

Hi I would like to ask, when is it right to mow the lawn after scarification and reseeding? I have followed your guide although I didn’t have a posh rolling thingy but used a plank and shovel to compress the dressing down onto the lawn (small lawn 👍) what size of grass blade or should I leave it until spring? Would be grateful if you could shed some light or science on this ?

Great question, best to set your lawnmower to a high height and only take the tips off the top of the lawn 👍

@@Premier_lawns_official thanks for getting back to me much appreciated. Great channel keep it coming. 👍

Do you not "control" (kill) the moss before scarifying etc? That's how I've always done it. Although I fully understand it's different strokes for different folks. Also. I'm thinking of investing in a petrol hollow time aerator for the new season. A considered ££ purchase. How long on average does it take the lawn to naturally close up the holes that are made, or do you lightly fill with a quality top soil / compost? Thanks Rob.

Surly if this lawn has as much thatch as it looks the new seed will not germinate into the thatch. It needs soil contact doesn’t it?
@ashgower70832 ай бұрын
That’s why they did a deep scarify before seeding.
@markwilliamson78462 ай бұрын
@@ashgower7083 hi ash. The lawn they worked had a lot of thatch. There is no way they removed it all to soil level. If they attempted to do it to soil level all the grass would have been removed as the grass that was there before they started was mostly rooted in the thatch. I have had the same problem with my lawn at times. I’m not criticising them or the video as they are lawn experts, I’m just commenting with the experiences I’ve had.

We did recommend stripping it off and redoing it, that is not what the client wanted. Everything is about working in a balance
@markchester75842 ай бұрын
Looking at that lawn I think I’d have risked running the scarifier over it a couple more times.
@Premier_lawns_official2 ай бұрын
Mark it's always a gamble doing it more, another pass or two and there wouldn't have been anything left. We did 3 deep passes

@@kenmay1572 I feel your pain. My lawn looked good until I scarified and hollow tinned it. It then disappeared and in its place came something resembling Glastonbury, after the festival.
