Thank you. I will be over seeding tomorrow (weather permitting). I have a machine to scarify but I have to spread the seed and compost top dressing by hand. I usually just roll my mower roller over to firm the seeds in. It will take me a while but should be worth it. I have a few patches of weed grasses I will dig out and reseed.

Hi Robbie. I have overseeded a lawn that was originally rye, adding a fescue and bent mix for about 6 years and have to say it does better now in a dry summer and the fine grass looks tidy too, though it’s not as dark green for most of the year. I need to make one of your homemade drag mats!
@Premier_lawns_official3 ай бұрын
It will be hard to see the bent in it. I like my dark green rye lol

What do you think the best and why between the fixed or swinging blades for the eliet scarifier ? And the ZR selfpropeled model ? Seams you dont need to cross scarification with this.. thanks

I have only ever had fixed blades, so can't really comment on swinging blades.

Great channel! I know it will depend on many factors but how deep do you set your scarifier as a rule?
@Premier_lawns_official3 ай бұрын
It's too hard to say to be honest. What I would say is to start high It can be done at both spring and autumn, so if you do it and aren't too sure and want to air on the side of caution and feel you didn't take enough out, just do it the again in the spring Lawn care should be fun , so don't sweat it 👍

Why don't you mow it lower first? Germinated seed would have more light, fall in better and easier to get some topdressing in.

Have you done any videos on seeding or overseeding a lawn with a basic pasture mix. Like rye/clover or would I be better looking for something that has a bit of fescue but the area is very shaded and only gets sun through the middle of the day

Hi Robert, really not my forte at all to be honest, sorry I can't be of more help
@neilfarmer66093 ай бұрын
@@roberthamilton2334 Hi Robert. Plant crocus any time from now til end of November. Most bulbs are planted at a depth of about three times the length of the bulb but crocus go a bit deeper - make the hole about 4 inches deep. If you’re on clay soil I would make it 5 inches deep then put an inch of sharp sand or 70/30 mix under the bulb to prevent rotting. Site the bulbs anywhere not affecting by strong winds or pets - both will flatten them in my experience in a coastal garden. If you are also considering snowdrops these are different from most bulbs in that success is much more reliable if you buy flowering bulbs in spring. This is called planting ‘in the green’ and works out better value with snowdrops. Good luck!

@neilfarmer6609 thanks for the information , I'm going for crocus in my front lawn 74 sq mtr .I've been looking at different ways of planting on youtube ( digging garden in a H pattern for planting I think will suit me best) I reckon 3000 will give me an average of 40 per sq mtr enough for them to naturalised at a depth of 10 cm ,which in turn will be deep enough to let me aerate from time to time.
