That’s why he said you shouldn’t jumble your mind with predictions though. They’re unpredictable sure, but they’re way worse and do way more unsafe things, so you can just play slower/more reactive and roll them.

Idk, I actually learn from bad players tbh, sometimes I play “bad” and unpredictable in the beginning to lower my opponents guard, and then when they start getting comfortable I start doing actual stuff, it’s actually a good strategy against people who are confident in there abilities, because at any given moment you can control the momentum of the game

pro tip: camp them as samus (is boring but you win) play little mac and spam smash attacks like them play kirby and spam up b play ness and spam pk fire (they cant sdi) these tricks helped me destroying my noob friend cloud till he got tilted, i know is boring as crap , but you win:)

I have noticed that something I do is notice that I will be playing better than my opponent and dunk on them for a stock, then because I don’t think my opponent is as good as me, I stop playing well and just start doing bad/unsafe shit.

It just means you have to be on guard more often. Don't let one win or cool read get to your head. Because "bad" players can be unpredictable and they can even get some stupid shit off you too! So yeah. Just play safe and go out when you know for sure what they're gonna do!

Watching that Lucas made me so grateful to have a reflector. Making players who depend on gimmicks do all of the heavy lifting is such a game changer! When you have a way to make these kinds of opponents initiate every interaction, they tilt and crack so fast.

That's because people don't know how to adapt their playstyle depending on the opponent. They try to play the "optimal" at every match; this is risky, as it's more difficult to achieve. It's a good idea againts very good players, because the possibility of defeating them makes the risk (trying to play optimal and failing), but not againts the worst ones Againts those players, you gotta play safe. Go for the easy options, those will be effective enough

When I fight someone who doesn’t seem like they want to take their time and learn out the player and actions my brain switches to a different mode. I just play very reaction based and sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. An unpredictable opponent is so scary to me and I kinda like scrapping for 5 mins straight.

Bro I haven’t watched the vid but I keep seeing people say “I lose to bad players because x…” bro u lose to bad players because you’re bad. You won’t beat a slightly worse player 100% of the time. Sometimes there’s match up issues. The reason most of the time is an overestimate of our own abilities. Like if you can’t beat “bad” habits are they truly “bad”? And if you can’t beat “bad” players are you truly “good”? Good players don’t lose to bad players most of the time, if it happens to you consistently blame the controller in your hands, not theirs.

my biggest problem is that i cannot condition these people! i mean i play a match and my opponent uses wake up super twice so yeah u realize he doesn't like the situation and he found his easy way out when i try to shut that down and punish it heavily the next 3 times he attempts automatically i think! okay he should have learned by now! so he will probably won't be trying it again i can go for pressure and they are still doing it... especialy when a character you play is soo focused on conditioning the opponent is so damn hard to get around these guys

I’ve been playing a lot of Guilty Gear lately and this is so relatable. I’ve been picking up Ino who gets insane pressure off of her mix-up potential with instant overheads, however, I have a brother. My brother isn’t as passionate at fighting games, but he loves May even if he can’t play the game to well. As he plays, I see that he ends up making amazing plays without even realizing it. He’s hitting amazing anti-airs, he has amazing shield pressure, and his mix-ups are great. However, all he’s doing is continuously using the same few moves, and nothing else. Because of this, I can easily get combos off of him because of how many counter-hits I get, but that’s it. I can’t apply pressure and I can’t condition him. Even now, he still wins a few games every now and again. Let me tell you from personal experience, there is NOTHING scarier then someone who’s able to completely turn off their brain and just play the game.

I mean it’s understandable why he loses though. He plays only holding forward so that becomes predictable. Same thing with spargo he plays too optimal and it becomes consistent. Two sides of the same coin.

The Lucas PKFreeze you guys put in was an amazing example LMAO. He randomly came into a streamer arena to act all gloaty and tried being rude to everyone only for my friend to take him seriously and consistently 2 stock him when they tried. Amazing video nonetheless, keep up the content
