After I started this Oil Painting, I knew I was in over my head. My ideas are at times too grand for my own good. I needed to listen to my creative intuition and practice Oil Painting Portraits more before I finished. So, you get two Oil Paint With Me processes for the price of one video! I will also show you some updated shelving decor I got for the Art Studio, repot my ZZ plant, and take a trip to the park. Now sit back and enjoy this dreamy art vlog! ☁️ 🌿 🌟
thanks for the overwhelming support on my last (first) video. I'm still in shock!

This is something I've been struggling the most lately. When you started talking about being honest with our abilities so we can get happier with our art, my heart felt at peace as if my feelings are being validated and seem. I've always had that hurry to be the best I can in order to praise others, and even because of the illusion of quick results caused by social media, but I'm trying hard to understand and make peace with my own rhythm and abilities, fully enjoying the process. We do have time! Thank you so much, Ashleigh!

As someone who lost the motivation to draw and paint for the last few years, your first video gave me the courage to follow that creative urge that I've feeling for the past week. I bought so many supplies and bought my first easel. Even though I have essays to write for grad school, I'm excited to start painting again. I look forward to more of your videos and to follow you on your art journey 💓 your videos are so well edited and your art is amazing!

i had to watch this twice being interupted the first time. If a person wishes to learn to paint, draw, anything in art they need to just start doing it. You have done a 1000 more steps than most people who watch you. You are painting that is the first step to getting the image in your head to the canvas. Well done. As you progress you will learn more little things on how to blend paint in lights and shadows transitions, little things. I wont tell you how i would have tackled this painting because its how you are doing it and learning as you go and challenging yourself. I am no means a portrait artist because it is one of the hardest things to master. Being a person you are painting or drawing makes us have that need to be perfect every time because its a person. In a couple years you will look back and think how did i paint like that? Dont get frustrated on the details thats one of the best parts of a painting ( drawing) its what adds all the character and quirks to each person. Be patient take your time and enjoy it. i know how hard it is to slow down when you have a 100 things of how you want something to look or add to it in your mind just bursting to come out all at once. its a task thats learned with practise and time. Well done and keep being You

i just started painting recently in the new years. never thought of painting my whole life. the only painting i've done was in high school art class. i never had the urge or the need to paint, but when my workplace closed down i decided to buy gouache and brushes for fun and i really enjoyed it! before i used to be on social media to kill time or as a hobby but picking up painting has helped me to avoid my techs and not think about anything else but mixing colors 😅 its been helping me with my anxiety

We see you... I see you. Wow, loved the poem to the beautiful piece you did and I can totally relate to how you feel and I understand. I'm very inward as well. Sometimes I may come off as shy or like you said maybe everyone else is just too loud 📢 . Well, once again great video, great content 👍 and great art. Yes, I know all too well the struggle of trying to get a profile or facial angle or expression or lighting just the way I want it before I'm satisfied with it. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes, sometimes an hour or more and sometimes I get flustered/frustrated and won't come back to it until later or like you did, just move on to something else but the key is to NEVER give up and to keep challenging yourself and finding inspiration however and wherever you can. Also, I loved the outing to the park and your love for plants and nature and yes, the shelf switch was a good call. Don't get me wrong, the metal black one was nice but it was square and angular where as the hand woven one that replaced the other, was more rounded and added a certain softness and overall warmth to the room and complimented the sunlight that was spilling through very well. Nice! If I were to critique anything at all which I can't because your just awesomely great but IF I were to, it would be to say that as artists, we tend to visually notice more of what's around us than the average person and while you may have done it after the video or at a later date, I did see that you didn't sign your beautiful piece or maybe I'm just blind. If so, my apologies. Anywho, can't wait for part IV

@@AshleighKing I love "waiting to be noticed" but honestly, as radiant and transcendental of a spirit you are, I cannot ever imagine you "waiting to be noticed " but of course I got the message lol. Also, I was very impressed by your commentary in the video and your celestial poem to the piece. You definitely should bless us like that more often. It showed me a deeper level/side into your thought processes as an artist and just an all around decent, emotionally conscious human being in general and that says alot! I will definitely check out your tik tok and Instagram... also, the very first picture of the 5 you just posted on here, the one with you in it, is beautifully deep. The level of concentration on your face and the look of you being engrossed and submerged in your thoughts even though your eyes were not visible, is sacred to say the least. Thank you Ashleigh for being inspiring and thank you for allowing me/us to get a relatively modest glimpse into the mind and world of a beautifully and deeply talented artist and soul. Much respect 🙏 and much ❤

I really liked what you said about seeing masterpieces in someone else‘s art and being sad when you cannot create a painting on the same level. Thank you, Ashleigh, for giving us the sort of art video that we need. It's a refreshing change to see the artist expressing the whole picture. including the planning stage, the break to refresh your spirit, the 'ugly and frustration' stage, and not just a painting on the table, speeded up so fast that I have to use a slower speed to cope with it. After all, the art we create is the result of who we are, and seeing you take time out to walk in the park, watch the dog playing, pick up a cane bookshelf from the roadside, appreciating what you have, in an unhurried and peaceful manner tells us a lot about the lovely person and artist that you are. Please will you maintain this honesty and freshness? Watching the real artist at work, making a video with content which expresses and appreciates the art all around us is a deep joy to me.

Hi Ashleigh! during lockdown I lost all of my passion for art, I had no motivation to create. until I've been watching your videos, you and other creators have inspired me to brainstorm and begin to love art again. even though I haven't painted anything for a very long time I have motivation and I will do my best to start doing what I love again. thank you

Me encanto tu charla, el increible el contraste de artistas que solo hablan de tecnicas, pero tu te enfoncas en los sentimientos y la inpiracion, realmente escucharte es algo reparador

I ended the video with teary eyes. I’ve seen so many paintings and drawings that I’ve fell in love with. But I’ve never been given the answer to what I need to heal in my life through paintings like I was with these. I’m very appreciative of you and your work🤍

The message in this video, that poem, and the way you talk about accepting yourself and your abilities really resonated with me. I actually wrote down the poem because I thought it was so beautiful and yet so raw because it’s something many of us can relate to and yet we don’t typically talk about it. You should be so proud of yourself for how quickly you’ve grown too! I’m looking forward to seeing more dreamy content ☁️✨❤️

Hi, Ashleigh. I just found your channel maybe a week ago and I feel really lucky to find you and your works. I found so much comfort from your videos and you are giving that extra push to pursue something a gave up on. I took a design course and currently in my second year but the voice in my head keeps telling me otherwise. I'm planning to talk to my parents about switching courses and pursuing visual art, major in traditional painting. I hope to have the courage and determination you have. Thank you for being an inspiration.

Yay, you made a new video! I was so happy when YT notified me! Both your videos are beautifully made and so inspiring! I recently got back into art (digital, with Procreate) and I can really empathize with you on the messy stage. That's where I usually get discouraged and abandon my work, but nowadays I have managed to find the courage and strength to power through, and managed to finish my pieces. I also struggle with opening up to people and your poem describes the feeling perfectly. For me, I am shy, some people just do not make me comfortable, and indeed I sometimes just want to avoid later pain, so it is all of the things you listed. Your paintings are lovely and you are a really talented artist, I hope to see many more videos from you and wish you the very best for your creative journey!

I just found your channel a couple days ago (thank you, art youtube feed!) and I'm already in love, and cant wait to see more. Your videos have such a warmth to them, it's so comforting on these cold days. I'm in a weird place with my own art journey, where I feel like either my painting ruins my drawing or my drawing ruins my painting. I'm a watercolor artist and boy its never failed to keep me humble. Can't wait for more content, Ashleigh! Much love from Canada :)
