I would like to add a point regarding clinical attachment. It is true that you don't necessarily need one, but some trusts only accept applications from the doctors who have done a clinical attachment at their Trust. Also, doing a clinical attachment might help you land a job in a Trust, as the consultants might be impressed by your professionalism and work, and in the end, they might just want you for the job, instead of looking through countless job applications and conducting interviews.

What job title should I search on track jobs for my first job as a newly graduated, with full gmc registeration, who isn't applying through the UKFPO pathway?

Thank you for this video. Actually, based on my personal perspective, I have noticed that getting a job in the UK has become way difficult in the last few years. I know it depends on many factors, but it is not an easy process. Many doctors are struggling to get even a single interview, which is frustrating.
@RoadToUK Жыл бұрын
When we started in the UK, there was no shortage occupancy. We had to wait for UK citizens to first get a job. We weren't allowed visas easily. So we have to disagree. Things have become easier, but yes, competition is there. That isn't something that's limited to the UK, however. And as we mentioned, you can always apply for training if you feel non training is taking too long.

@@RoadToUKbut that’s data from almost 10 years ago only until 2022. I am sure that if you took data from 2022 to 2024 you will have very different results. Yes, some individuals got a job quite quickly but the competition is through the roof and I don’t think it’s fair to say otherwise. The consultants at my partner’s hospital were absolutely shocked when they saw how many applications there are for the fy1/2 positions and the deciding factor is starting to be whether you have NHS experience, and clinical attachment is not enough. Other consultants are reporting that the departments are cutting down on budgets for resident doctors and even for consultants! I just don’t think it’s fair to be misleading people with modified facts which fit the narrative you want.
@RoadToUK4 ай бұрын
@@lucyreynolds5473 No it is not. Please read the GMC workforce report thoroughly. Aside from that, we have personally helped and seen MANY doctors obtain jobs in a good course of time. Doctors wouldn't be listed as a shortage occupancy if there wasn't a need, but at the same time one has to apply appropriately and with a good application. The sheer number of applications we have seen that are vague, filled with errors, or otherwise not well written are astounding. Additionally you will find many will obtain an interview but not be successful. Again, that doesn't mean there aren't jobs.

In my home country, specialty training in Internal medicine is done through attaining a masters in internal medicine (3 years). Do you have any info on IMGs with GMC registration & ready for UK jobs that have acquired jobs before completing specialty training in their home countries (especially if this masters route in their home country)? Would it be possible then to entire into group 2 IM subspecialties' training if one has done 2 out of their 3 years in their home countries? 2. Could you comment on the probability of getting into NHS employment for this special category of doctors: Jobless & well-registered IMG doctors that have attained at least one or two months of clinical attachment within The UK, but are still searching for employment within both The UK as well as their home countries. Thank you!
