I bought my 2014 street Triple in 2016 from a triumph dealer here in España. it had 4000 kilometres on it. It looked like new ...50,000 kilometres later it still does. The bike had a few 'goodie' already fitted, flysreen, belly pad, crash bars etc ... I fitted a quick shifter, black anodised brake reservoirs and triumph adjustable brake levers..which personalised it to me...Just love the Street Triple 675

I've also always bought new. I think the only time I would consider a used bike is if it where from someone I knew and how the bike was treated. Before I got the 2011 Speed Triple I had a 2009 Suzuki SFV650 "Gladius". Sold it two years later in 2011. The bike was perfect had Rizoma parts on. I had nicknamed it the "Stinger" 😄 Anyway, sold it to a friend for what I had owed on it at the time. Which was cheap money. She crashed it two years later. She's ok. Broke her heart to tell me. New unless you know the bike!

My first bike is an 09 gladius sfv650. I bought it used with 10k miles in summer of 2019 at a Houston TX dealer. It’s got got a little over 20k miles on it and still running strong. I’ve been looking for my second bike which will be either a triumph speed or street triple, tiger 900gt pro or speed twin. I also thought about Yamaha mt09 or tracer 9gt for the reliability and cheaper price but triumph feels like a more premium bike. Too many decisions these days but I guess that’s a good thing.

The money i save on buying new is what i can use for track days, tires, gear and fuel... First bike was new, which was great to learn what the difference is between perfect and something sounding/feeling funny.. But after that i just go used. Even with crash damage which most won't touch but if the frame is fine and the engine is low miles i'm interesten. Also i like to spend my spare time in getting it back in order. And having paid not too much, it doesn't hold you back to go full ham. If i crash the financial loss is acceptabele.
@BikesofRye3 жыл бұрын
It is a very fair point - though re-sale time on a bike with accident damage is difficult to sell and you sell cheap. Things I thought in order as watching vid... Thats a lot of money spent on kit you dont/wont use much. Sell it even second hand people buy it. Ofc you're filling up the street RS is so thirsty 😂 bcos you cant help but rev it high. Took for a test ride day out from sanderstead to boxhill to white ways and back again had to fill the bike to full twice! "Little toy" its a pretty big toy, any motorbike is. A little toy is a Lego set. There is more to cost than just the bike. The higher the value the more the insurance is, loan interest, which are things you cant get back from selling the bike. Thats additional yearly cost on top of the bike. And how about what you get for that cost; the more preciously you treat it. Dont want to get it stolen, scratched, dirty, ragged, rained - you'll get more fun and less stress out of a beater that you use up than a show bike that you preserve. 8.5k for a 2020 street triple is shockingly bad depreciation. I bought a speed triple 2020 brand new full extras. Pulled cover off. Ran in the engine. Hated it. Gave it back. Love my 2016 speed way more. Its never too late to put sock/guard covers on if they stay on forever you dont see the scratches underneath
