I love to can chicken too even though I have to buy my chickens at the store. I roast my chickens two at a time and have one meal from the roast. I debone the chicken, make a broth from the bones in my instant pot. The second day I can the chicken in the bone broth and can any remaining broth. I love the flavor the roasting gives the broth but I had no idea that you could cook a whole frozen chicken in the instant pot. Thank you for your very informative video!

I have always wanted to learn how to can my own food. I never learned from my grandmother while I was taking care of her and I lost the opportunity. Now I’m taking care of my dear Momma. This year is the year. I purchased the Presto canner and I’m having a blast! Some fails. Some successes. Some lessons. Some blessings. All super fun! Plus its a great bonding experience with my mom. It gets her excited and moving. It will also cut our grocery bill way down this winter.

I made 16 qts. of ground venison vegetable soup today using both my All American and my Presto 12 qt. digital. The last four jars about almost ready to remove. I love both canners equally but one thing I really love about the Presto is it doesn't heat the kitchen up. We are having a horribly hot Summer so canning is hard enough much less adding more heat. I am canning a lot of chicken too. So awesome to have these kinds of foods on my pantry shelves!

I raise goats, chickens, cows, turkeys and sheep. After watching your how to can cooked chicken, i used it to process my cooked goat. We did 2 goats, one was barbequed in a deep pit along with one split between birria, a Mexican version of corned beef, and consume to make a delicious pozoli, hominy soup. What tastes better, hot or raw pack chicken? Do you ever put onions or garlic in the jars b4fore canning?
@HeartwayFarms Жыл бұрын
We do not preseason our chicken so that it can work with many different dishes. As for raw pack or pre-cooked hot packing... They both have slightly different textures the raw pack stays in more of a chunk form and the shredded cooked chicken is better for casseroles, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken tacos, and things of that nature. 👉 FREE Canning PDF Download and Resources: canning.heartwaymembers.com/home 🚨 We've created a FREE online community for our subscribers where you can interact with fellow subscribers + get access to bonus content & special promotions before the general public. heartwaymembers.com/

I am wondering why you cook the chicken, debone it, then pack it in hot water & essentially "cook it" a second time? Then once you go to use it, you would re-heat it or bake it in a dish., cooking it a 3rd time. Does this make the chicken rubbery or mushy? Confused in Kansas. Lol
@maemaep9246 Жыл бұрын
And possibly a lot less flavor since it's pressure cooked in hot water vs the broth the instant pot created.

They are based out of Florida yet manufacture everything in China! Ball and Kerr offer jobs and manufacturing right here in America. As homesteaders I would think that matters but nobody seems to care and no one will answer my question …two years ago they said they were going to bring the facility to America and still all production is in China, so what’s up with that?
